1. Does a kid's character make up for the loss of the FL?
That's a good question, does a child make up for the FL? I'm going to be honest, I think a child can bring many things to a show and in reality too, but people aren't replaced. A child can bring life to someone, a reason to live, a beacon of hope maybe. For the show he's there as a way to add the family aspect- the emotional qoutient, a father-son bonding, a way to keep Paro's spirit alive, because if you really think about it...I don't think many would have been as quick to accept the possibilty of a Rudra and Myrah love story without Dhruv in the picture (the CV's have played it smart- for once)
Also Rangrasiya was initially sold as an intense love story but I think this time around that's really not possible without tainting everything Rudra and Paro were. It would be an absolute insult to the original.
But I agree with what you have said about how it all happened way too fast, it was overwhelming, forced and I'm still reeling from the aftershocks. Usually leaps and children are shown way into the story line. Possibly why alot of us find it difficult to move on...there was no effective transition and that's a lack in the writing and in the creative department.
2. Shouldn't a kids back story be incorporated, to emotionally connect?
P.S - Would love to see Rudra's random exit from the BSD, how he got into his new job and of course what made him so calm and composed.
I'm not going to add too much to this one, because I agree with what you had to say, but just this last part, I too would like to see some flashbacks. Atleast it'd feel like a connection was made.
3. 7 years - Too big a leap?
Yea I think this is where a lot of the problem lies...there was absolutely no promotion besides Mukta forcing Myrah down peoples throats even before Paro had died. That didn't sit well with a lot of people and understandably so (Myself included). But going back to the lack of promotion, you have such a HUGE turning point in your show and no one besides the internet knows about it. People that watch on an off would be like what is going on and where the hell is Paro? They would have to double check they're still watching RR.
And that last line about dividing fans...it's sad but true. There is a definite division and it doesn't feel the same anymore. I'm waiting for the justification of this 360 change and track too. The emptiness is the loss of connection.
4. Both leads die and then brought back - Greater impact?
I would have rather preferred this! Cliched, but would have gone in line with the theme of soul mates, and the audiences would have been much more accepting. However like you said if this works great...if it doesn't Paro's loss will really have been for nothing. Also one other thing, most show's are always interesting in the beginning, it's how they tackle the latter half and the delicate issues that really make or break it.
5. Trying to connect the dots
I think that "hope" is a reason alot of people are sticking around. There's an acceptance of Myrah as a character more than there is an acceptance of Myrah as Rudra's love interest because for anyone that watched Rangrasiya it'll never quite make sense, especially because of how Rudra is written and portrayed in regards to Paro.
This is all just my opinion, might not entirely make sense because I'm tired right now lol. And sorry for any grammatical errors!
