Yes, I guess the Indian Television industry is a bit behind, as far as applying the tactics and methods of the western world, one reason being people here, have different mindsets. Yes, they are broad-minded, intelligent, no doubt, but as far as TV viewing is concerned they prefer to have drama, just to keep them hooked, alas, their guilty pleasure!
I agree 100%, that the manner in which they handle dwindling TRPs is odd, but given they are on a tight schedule, limited budget, they try their level best to keep things afloat.
If the season thing worked, like even Sanaya mentioned it once, over here, back home, it has both its pros and cons. So people related to a show focus on getting the job done, owing to the faulty system, and are bound to change their story lines drastically to satisfy the needs of 1000's households, and maybe in the process, even forget the international audience, which is very disappointing, having they spend a lot of money for subscriptions alone. The time, energy is whole new zone, and it upsets fans, that they are stuck with a "normal" show in the end.
-👍🏼They could refine the system, add in the online viewership, that would change the whole scenario and we wouldn't be having such a discussion in the first place!
With the new Government in action, I think this is something the concerned Ministry might tackle, given the glitches of the system have been openly debated. It is definitely in the spotlight, given the show makers are experts of the same, and maybe are doing the needful to handle the situation.
All one can do is wait patiently to wait for changes to happen or maybe take a stand and ensure something needs to be done. As an audience, we sit and wait patiently!
