Shantanu wants to kill Sunheri, doesn't mean he will. So lets relax till it happens. How come Mohini is fine with him openly flirting with her daughter. She spoke so much against Rudra when Paro was fake engaged to him. Remember what she said during the Choodi Leela scene, how her mamisa didn't teach her about decorum.

If he was kidding, this is the second time he has made the same morbid joke. But as he is the villain we must take what he might be right about the intent but whether he goes through the actual deed is doubtful.
