Very well-written post. You ve listed all the reasons I love RR. To hell with the TRPs. I dont care which show is getting more TRPs. This was an innovativd different story line. And even after introducing TRP drama, it still has much better quality and potential than most other shows. Sanaya, Ashish and the whole cast are unbelievably amazing.
However, there are a few things I d like to say. Don't clump all of Sanaya's fans from her previous show in one category. Because we re not all obsessed with watching her only with one co-actor no matter how amazing their chemistry was. Even though I m his fan as well. It makes me proud and happy to see her create the aura of Paro and Rudra's fierce love with Ashish. And I have openly admitted that I love Ashish. I ve even fangirled about hus fingers. Along with a lot of her fans from her previous show. So please, do not think we re all cut from the same cloth. Yes, I ve seen them wreak havoc on twitter. And frankly, I feel sorry for them.
Secondly, as an actor, Sanaya is allowed to love Khushi more . She's giving her all to Paro, a character which I'm sure she doesn't relate to much. But is it really wrong if she loves Khushi more ? Khushi after all did make her a household name.
Pardon me if any of what I wrote offended you. I m just tired of people blaming Sanaya's IPK fandom of being immature, when it's a few and not all of us.

I am agree with you..not fully..first sanaya is not immature...i donot know what you people show by dragging her in ever crises...if she loves khushi the only reason was that it was really close to her actual personality and she always says that paro was more difficult to play...if she love khushi then she is independent..it depend on viewers that who love paro or not..we love her every character because the only reason is sanaya irani her self...any ways all other points I am 100 per agree with you...
but one honest suggest from me..ashish and Sanaya are best couple of today and Sanaya and barun are vest couple of their time...and this is natural that every fandom has some obsessive people who donot over come of their past..as some of maneet fans are still waiting for them and not accepting rishbala...
so do not make this issue ..because this would create negative impact on sanaaya professional life and ALLAH. Forbid..directors would ignore sanaya from next time to take her as lead

Exceptionally well written and analyzed. Welcome to the forum, you made my day with this post and I am really quite excited to see you here!

One caveat though-- I appreciate Sanaya's honesty when it comes to her own preferences on which character she felt was easier to play /understand. As an actor, she has always been professional, and I find her interviews to reflect her sense of responsibility for the characters she plays. She has never given short shift to any of her roles, at least as far as I've known--I never watched Chanchan or Miley Jab Hum Tum, because I'm not a Sanaya fan, per se.

But I do know she was well regarded in both shows, and did her job--which included interviews, behind the scenes, and being diplomatic. I understand, though, that for a person with her natural exuberance, it was Khushi that was her best role, probably because it was closest to her real nature, and she said that frankly. I liked that.

Remember, she played Chanchan, Khushi, Paro and Gunjan as well so she has a breadth of characters she has inhabited to choose from when it comes to who she identified with, and enjoyed playing the most. Her saying she liked the character of Khush Kumari Gupta does not affect her excellent acting of Parvati Ranawat--I think her fans would be able to differentiate between her personal favorite, and her current avatar.

In my opinion, liking her role as Khushi does not negate her performance overall as Parvati--where she literally never breaks into Khushi for me, where she has created an identity for Paro that is unique to Paro, and her expressions, even showing the same emotions Khushi did so well (such as mischief) is differently portrayed for this calm, shy character.

And as for her chemistry with Barun, and the need for it to be seen again--- I would say her sexual chemistry with Ashish is much much greater than any she's had with her previous shows. This is not due to Ashish, or Barun, their looks, or her comfort levels with them. The reason is, of course the very nature of their characters. Rudra is earthy, sexual and basically a living flame, and Paro trusts him to not hurt her, she is mesmerized by him, and actively enjoys his seduction. Their passion is the natural result of the "obsessed-with-each-other" characters they are playing. Paro/Rudra are more mature, and certainly the themes of the show are more serious and sensual, than IPKKND was. This translates to a more mature couple-- and more mature heat.

But while personally I think the Barun-Sanaya jodi was among the legendary couples in TV history (and I include international shows ) I personally prefer this current RR coupling. That is not because I am not a Barun fan--I am. But because, well--I prefer a committed, passionate, absolutely no-holds-barred love story with communication and trust versus angst and misunderstandings between lovers that a five minute conversation would have solved. Their trust issues made me a little crazy.

Having said that, if the TV Gods smiled and years from now Sanaya and Barun ended up onscreen again, I'd be the first popping the popcorn-- and that is not because I am a teenager still hung up on that couple. I think, actually that even if that happened, its perfectly possible these two amazing friends would NOT be able to capture the lightning in the bottle effect of IPKKND -- even if they tried. Shows have since tried and failed to capture IPK's overall magic. Tastes change, and people (even co-stars ) move on and do better with newer faces, and are less effective with their older ones. Case in point is Sara Khan and Angad Hasija who reunited after Bidaai in another serial, and just didn't deliver there. There is no guarantee that in a different show, Sanaya and Ashish will have this heat, either.

Thus for me, living in the here and now, I am enjoying the experience of being a part of created history that Rangrasiya represents for Indian TV. This woman has a strong, unusual character to play, this man has an honesty and an intelligence to his acting, and this particular story has wit, passion, politics and every character, even the evil ones, have sense and a strong point of view. I hope India has the right audience to sustain such creative work.

Hi once again SZBR ji,
I would like to highlight this one part of Napster ji's amazing post, and I think, I may have some sort of justification for the same, may be silly, but at least you might have a few good laughs in the end, after reading it.

Please do bear with me, and if time permits, please do go through the following post.

Over here, it is a write-up, by a fellow member and she is avid watcher of IPK and not so much of RR. She has managed to distinguish brilliantly, I believe, between the 2 characters Sanaya has potrayed - Khushi and Paro, and in her own way.

So hoping, once again you participate in your lovely discussion and get to make some amazing friends.

Sorry about making multiple posts, I am sure at least I am keeping this topic a hot and happening one, so that more number of people peep in and appreciate the same, and of course, do not miss it in anyway!

The welcomes will be on, until, you at least, very sweetly introduce yourself , and ensure your fabulous posts are slowly going to flood the forum, soon.

Have a lovely evening,

Zeffy

The Navarasas series is a set writing collaboration on a theme, with a finite number of people doing it, who already divided the topics out. But if SZBR wants to write any kind of fan-fiction for us all, I am sure she'll be fantastic, i really hope she does...

Well, aapki farmaaish ho and poori na ho? Well, I am sure, she would be honored and wouldn't mind adjusting, or maybe better collaborate with the lovely fellow baisas, who are busy with their schedules. I am sure she would be an excellent addition. Looks like, maybe it's time for Navarasa series - Part 2? (Only planning stages) She is on top of your list, I can see that.

From past week I had many worries, my head was wrapped around low TRPs and what is the reason behind it. RR is the hindi serial I watch so I did not know how other series function, so to know how is high number gaining shows, then I too analyzed highly empowered lead is the biggest difference and uniqueness of our show. I am proud to be a Rangrasiyans hope the creatives do not succumb to low TRP and remain original.
You wrote truth in your post 🤗.

Welcome to the forum and very nice first post.
No matter what the TRP numbers are, RR will remain as an achievement for the entire team involved in it along with the leads.

My only point of difference is the perception about Sanaya's interview. It was an honest answer to a question as to which among her roles she enjoyed playing the most, her answer was Khushi and she added that she hopes to make a connect with audience with Paro too, but it has been a short time since RR started. As is the tendency of media (which makes spicy titles to grab eyeballs) and tendency in IF to pick words out of context to suit their argument, Sanaya's words were misconstrued.
She as an actress keeps single minded focus on each of her shows and I have never heard her complain about her job. It is wonderful she gets to work with Ashish in RR who is perfect as Rudra.
