Lovely post SZ baisa and in total agreement 😊 I said this in several posts yesterday ...the parellel tracks and an overall family social feel is very neccessary for a show to succeed on indian telly.
Happy birthday once again.

Hi there people!

Yesterday, I was a bit in a daze and occupied with all things a birthday girl is usually occupied with, but I didn't forget to watch Rangrasiya. And the episode was, well to me, the episode was amazing as usual.

But a slght hint and atmosphere of the forum indicated that not many of you enjoyed the episode and wanted more of the main lead couple. Trust me when I say this, that nothing in Rangrasiya interests me more than PaRud, but please just hear out what I am going to say next with an open mind. Please.

Somewhere around the 20th June episode, my mother had stopped watching Rangrasiya. Now, we all know that the 20th June episode, no matter how hot and beautiful and amazing and PaRudilicious... It wasn't exactly family-friendly.

And that is exactly the reason why many of you (teens between the age 13-18) might have ended watching it online without your family. And the pseudo-adults( ages 19-25) may have done the same.

Also, lets take in regard the ages 26-45. For most belonging to that age (In India), 9.30 is family T.V. viewing time. And with new moms/ new brides, its a risk to watch two people burning the screen with husbands/mom-in-laws/little kids.

I am not saying that they shouldn't be BURNING up the screen. Lord knows I will stop watching if they stop BURNING up the screen.

But what I am saying is, if they keep on filling whole episodes with Paro and Rudra and their love story, the older audience will LEAVE.
You ask me why... Well, how about you ask your moms and aunties why they simply aren't interested in Love Stories any more?
Its simple. There life is so much more than a gooey floss flavored Love Story that we girls dream about. To be frank, none of us will like the same type of love stories we like right now 5 years from now.

And so, they cannot really take it if day after day only PaRud love story is being shown. They need more. They need the family aspect. They need more dimensions to a story.

Yesterday was the first time after a long time that my Mom sat with me, cuz Samrat and Mohini were what she saw on screen, and asked me what is happening. What has Mohini done now. When I told her that she was going to get Samrat re-married, Mom said this aurat!! And then sat the whole half an hour for the episode.

The same applies to a larger indian demographic... If you get what I mean.

So, they WILL show a little bit of Mohini and Samrat and Maithili and Sumer. Let us not forget that this weeks TRP jump happened as Mala Maydem jee has made an entry, and Rudra is trying to forgive and forget. And Paro is being a good bahu.

We will have to commend the creatives on not really destroying the essence of this beautiful story and the characters and still managing to get a measly gain in the TRPs, but what I would like to point out to you people is that WE (Audience which gets colors on TV.. I have no idea how many countries gets colors.. The ones I know of are India, UK, Pakistan, US... Tell me if there are more) are ruining our own show.

This struck me when I was reading an article on Cracked.Com.

It majorly pertained to the US shows but some of its point hit home with Indian Television as well.

If you don't want to waste your time reading through a stupid article on an internet site, I'll just point out things that it stressed upon.

The most important aspect is, WATCHING YOUR SHOW WHEN IT AIRS. Like seriously. Nothing is more important to them than you investing your half an hour when they tell you to. Please tune in at exact 9.25 and please sit through the ads of the first segment atleast. Because you see, ADs are the lifeline of a show. Nothing else is. If they don't get sponsors, that means they are screwed.

Second one, is regarding the internet viewing. Now I know that many of you don't really bother watching it on Youtube. To which I say, please DO. Watch it on youtube. Be it atleast once. But please, make sure that you do watch it on their official channel. And for everything that is pure and holy, DO NOT USE AN ADBLOCKER SOFTWARE.

You see, the point here is again, ADs... Rozi-Roti it is.

The revenue generated by Rangrasiya, is only if people watch the Advertisements of their sponsors. It is really as simple as that.

What does the general average viewer do nowadays? Well, they take the easy way out and download the episode from desi-something.com... Which in turn, leaves a Babaji ka Thullu in the hands of the entire team of Rangrasiya and the sponsors who are investing their money into this show and the channel who is giving them a prime-time slot.

So, for one, if you contribute to Youtube views, please don't use Ad-blocker. Even skipping an Ad will atleast make you see five seconds of the ad, in turn a fraction of the percentage of payment that a sponsor does for primetime viewing, they'll do for internet uploads.

But to the audience which get it on their Televisions, PLEASE watch it on Television. WHEN. IT. IS. AIRED.

Why increase TRPs?? So that the creatives don't have to bring in cliche tracks and ruin the beautiful essence of Rangrasiya.

Regarding the storyline of Samrat-Maithili. I know that it is not as intense as Paro-Rudra, but it is a beautiful love story nonetheless. For I believe that every love story is beautiful. Maithili is not your quintessential chupchaap zulm sehne wali bahu and possesses a spine. And trust me, it is a thousand times better than every other show on every other channel. And that even you will agree with me.

Rambling Done.

Sorry for boring you.

Much Love
Anky

Dear Anky, hope your bday was great.! I am past the oldest demographic you have mentioned here, and .i watch it exclusively for rudra and paros love story! But my mil watches it too, and she watches it for the love story as well as the mother story, and my little girl, twelve years old watches it because she is beginning to understand romance a little! My son, a little older sometimes watches with me to watch Rudra throw a fit! My husband watches th show for that pretty Parsi girl!

I guess, whatever floats your boat! But yeah, balance is the key, and to deliver on basic premise!

I watch the show on regular timings, watch online on youtube, watch the ads, everything!

But btw, no one has seen the ?june 20 episode except me! I recorded it at 2 am!

Thank you so much Guinea-sa! Indian Telly is really very tough on GOOD love stories. And most of us know this from our previous experiences. If they don't bring in the family feel, they won't make it..!

And personally, I'd find it offensive if RR had to go off air for the shittiest show on earth (Big Boss) to air. Like seriously.

OF-sa! 🤗

Yes my birthday was really warm and cozy!

I am sorry if I offended you by generalizing the age demographic thingie!

And yeah, you are correct! Whatever floats one's boat really. We are the intense passionate love-story types and many others like the fluffy pink love stories. So, it really is choice based!

Now you are one of the rarest gems! Thank you really for being a fan in the truest form!

Also, I feel your pain. I downloaded like three different formats of the 20th June episode from different sources. One being the official YT video. And I was completely red in the face watching it on TV.

Belated happy birthday Anky... I am a die hard RR fan & have not missed a single episode so far... bang at 9.25 my TV gets switched on & gets switched off the moment RR finishes. I watch it for Parud & their amazing love story... my mom , who's in Delhi watches many shows starting from 8 o'clock , she started watching RR on my recommendation but it's least of her favourites...Jaipur track & 20 June epi were HORRIBLE ( according to her ) which made me laugh soo much heheh...here on IF we were going crazy/berserk over those & there was my mom cursing & telling me how disgusting the show was etc etc so Anky your post is bang on... I was looking forward to Mala / Dilsher story but don't enjoy Samrat / Maithli track, their scenes ( sorry abt that baisa ) so I put the volume on mute the moment they appear ( by themselves ) so this way I am happy & trps are not being compromised either .
