We are not denying that content is a reason for the low trp.. But it's not the only reason. RR got a competitive time slot.. Which had 2 youth shows QH & TP. Then on star plus there was Yeh Rishta that has been going on for years. Colors even when RR started out was 3rd on position. Star Plus & Zee shows always end up doing better, if RR was on either of those channels it would have done better. Good tracks like the Jaipur one increased in trp even though a promo was not show for 4 weeks. Colors needs to promote shows equally. All the shows doing bad can't be the fault of PHs or actors. Colors needs to do something.

I do agree that the story of RR should have been handled better.

Colors was a Strong No.2 when RR was launced
at that time Tumhari Pakhi was just a newbie mere 1.5 month old So competition was not there...
I also believed rr could do better at a late night slot but we cant run away from the fact that Do Dil Bandhe ek dori se is doing so well despite huge competition frm mahabharat and tmkoc and lack of promotions from Zee...
Same goes for Maharana Pratap which is doing well on a channel like Sony

even Chidyaghar did well despite dabh and pr

Regarding the channel Thing-
Shows fail even on Star and Zee
Ek Hasina Thi despite being a classy show is struck in averages
even Meri bhabhi got avg ratings
new shows of Zee too have same ratings be it dak or aphg

9 30 is good slot yaar , mostly given to ambitious projects KBC , BB CNK all air this time DABH , and which slot is not crowded these days , eliminating competion is not possible in this sector

though i feel RR initial content was good , like i said marketing was awful but direction , sets was all good

i think the makers had a lot of expectation from the project , but initial weeks the numbers were not great thats a part of the game , they gave in too quickly i would say and started modifying

friends pilot episode was a disaster , people found the characters shallow especial rachel and monica , they wanted it to be changed but the makers went by their conviction and didnot modify the characterization and slowly the show picked up and rest is histroy , same with modern family

the initial weeks shouldnt be taken as a bench mark all together , they lost hope in the project too soon i would say

they panicked

PS i feel channel is doing good , distribution is not a factor , thats a business level strategy

no 2 , no 3 thats fine , they are making money from their reality shows

trps are more for the makers and AD guys

Oh sorry.. I didn't know it was on 2nd position.

I just feel that the Trps could have been better if the story was handled better but it isn't the actors fault. The new show is Ekta Kapoor's but it still didn't get good Trps.. Usually trp audience always likes her shows. Most new shows on colors are getting average trp now and we can't say that all shows weren't that great in content.

And yes, Colors could be hurting from subscriber fees as one of the many reasons. $35/mo in US for the bundle of channels.

i agree and disagree with the report

promotions yes , but for some shows its a decided factor , like RD pointed out the show was extensively promoted in the initial weeks , but didnot gather the expected trps , its more about positioning i would say , what they said and what the content was , was different , its a marketng issue and later on content

channel might be more focus towards its reality shows thats because none of its daily shows has shown potential like CNK ,or BW for that matter , the show did do quite well with BW initially

exactly thats the Point but yes I wont blame Mr Tiwari alone...
Mr Prashant Bhatt is the reason the show is not doing well
both of them had no long term plans and a backup plan...
They had promised something else but gave something different...
They put the entire burden on SanIsh and didnt care to work on Side Characters...
Mr Bhatt thinks only negativity brings trps
thats what has led to Colors downfall
i would still demand Colors to give a new slot to rr...
But the writers need to buck up
mere promotion wont help
