What is wrong with ST, he is an established producer who apparently had a bound script for 200 episodes! Why is he asking for viewer suggestions on ways to increase TRP 😲

Does he really think that twitter users are representative of the TRP audience. I'm sorry to say but this tweet from him is in really bad taste and shows that he is desperate to save a sinking ship. Maybe he should learn a thing or two from Sanaya Irani, on how to be positive and confident and back up your product rather than sounding like a cry baby.
He should have concentrated on a strong script and non fluctuating characterizations from the beginning rather than resorting to asking audience for feedback within 5 months of the show.

This has not been tweeted by him and neither is he asking for feedback. He just posted this on his FB.

ST sir,

I love the characters of Rudra and Paro. Yin and yang, with total honesty between them. Everyone that I know seems to be watching Rangrasiya. Can you enlighten us a little on how viewership data is gathered for trps? From set top boxes or people meters?

The camera work of late could do with improvement, and the background on Rudras power dialogues with the alaap is a little overpowering. And I fail to see the necessity of body doubles... When both the actors have clearly shot for the scene together. Is the production team considering the revolving shot? Where the camera goes around on rails with the actors inside the circle?

This is my honest feedback. I want to say that Rangrasiya is one of the most rare and beautiful love stories I have seen in a long time! The actors have given life, depth and dimension to the roles of Paro and Rudra, and the supoorting cast is excellent! The dialogues are amazing and the action is unbelievable.

I am sure with the buzz online, overseas success, trps should not matter that much in garnering advertising revenue for the channel. If those revenues are steady or increasing, then trps should not really matter. If they are being computed over a sample space, they could be highly misleading.

I wish Rangrasiya a magnificent run on colors. It truly is the best show on TV today!

Hi , I feel this is the most clear assessment provided for ST. The first paragraph above is the most critical, since regular SP watchers typically switch channels and it impacts the trps for colors channel. I also have the feeling based on activity online, internationally it has enthralled the audiences but then local trp audience is not a as active online fb or twitter. Dont know if the reach for the word of mouth is as great based on comments which say yes we know but we are int viewers ehat can we do. Many trp people prefer to go with the familiar than the new so ek shows pick up trp right away while a new concept takes time to get used to. It would be nice if people who are giving feedback identify if they are international or Indian viewers for the ST team to at least analyse it in the context of the local trp audiences taste. I am aware that a lot of the same people watch sp, z and switch to RR during breaks . this does not help trp.
BTW , i am a viewer in us and do not contribute to trp.

Thanks for clarifying but in my opinion it still seems like he is frustrated and is venting.
It's like he is pointing out that we have done this and that and still no TRP's.
IMHO it's in really poor taste because he knows very well that he has followers on FB and people will read, comment and discuss. It is just not something a person confident of his product would say.

I did not intend to start an argument but I just did not like his post at all.

Sir,
RR is a unique love story and I love it. You have excellent actors who bring life to the characters they play. To name few, Paro, Rudra, Mythili, Dillu, Mohini and so on. Excellent Dialogues.
RR started off as a beautiful story of Paro and Rudra. It had a focus, and the story had an aim. Now a days it looks like the story does not have any Plot. Like you mentioned. Bot got Girl. Boy got Mom . Now what?
Lately, Each episode by itself has been wonderful , but where does each ep fit in the bigger picture? In fact, what is the Bigger picture?

In the recent episodes we have been noticing issues with direction/camera works/edits. We rarely get romance in RR (which is supposed to be a love story!!) and these days even if there is one or two Parud scenes, the camera work, direction and edits are such that the scenes donot have the same intensity as in the initial days. Most of the time the scenes are not played till finish. Just jumps from one shot to other.

IMO,Other than Mythili, all other characters in the story has be compromised. As a viewer I am not able to understand the characters as intented by the writer as it is ever changing. I understand this may have been done to change the story/track to appease TRP audience. But for the regular fans of RR like me, it is hard to digest.

I donot know what brings TRP and what does not. But as a viewer I would really like to see the story having a bigger picture and working towards that. If this is a love story, then I would like like to see "PASSION, LOVE, ROMANCE" between the leads, along with drama. Not just Drama. A main track with sub tracks than just collection of small tracks.

Jaipur track so far has been the BEST in RR journey. And If I am not wrong, fetched the highest TRP thus far.

I understand and feel your pain Sir. Even after all the hard work and talent actors & crew under ur belt, the show is not fetching TRP.
I do believe that hard work finally pays off. And I am sure with a little more attention to story development and technical issues, RR will see good numbers in the future.
All the very Best RR team.

I am loving the current track , last week and today episode were good

The story is always interesting when you have point of view from both leads
Like today episode, Loved the way Paro gave reason for her actions

Sir please another request do reduce the 1970 OTT drama of Rudro and can we have some more romance between the leads, like the earlier passionate e,g Haldi, Sangeet one😃

Hi there!

I'm not TRP member and live in North America but for whatever's it worth here goes:

The show is too depressing. Every show needs levity, something to make people laugh. Life is difficult and challenging enough at times and the last thing I want to do is turn on a show where all the FL does is either cry or get blamed for everything that goes wrong in the show. The character sketch of Paro is not consistent and the audience cannot identify with her. She's not real. The writers have paid a lot of attention to Rudra; please pay as much attention to Paro.

I watch your show for only one reason: Sanaya Irani. She's doing an amazing job with what she's been given but you have one of the most popular if not the most popular woman on TV. Give her something that she can do justice to. Crying? She does that well. Feeling sad? Yup good on that as well. How about something different? Use the abundant talent this woman has.

A lot of the talented ladies on this board have expressed valid concerns and if you address some of them I'm sure your TRP's will change. I wish you all the best.

Any story is a good story as long as there is execution. Hold that, avoiding tired tropes/using subtleties is also necessary if you are trying for anything other than mainstream adoption. This also touches on the seamless display of a universe. Immersion is a key piece of the puzzle and if at any point the audience is allowed to disillusion themselves from the show you are setting yourself up for the question that becomes inevitable. Dramas live in the hype.

There was a lot of build up through the marriage and I was on the edge of my seat with that sequence, literally. What was going to happen next? I am not sure if it was the post-production that took a slip or misstep in creative to on-screen translation but I found myself taking a step back somewhere after that. I had to recollect my thoughts on the show. Rangrasiya has a strong cast, sharp dialogues, and great sets but that doesn't bring me back into the show. ...As a side note, a couple does not need passion to be special, but that instant chemistry and two parts, one whole needs to breath through the screen, even if they can't get along.

The good thing is a niche audience loving the show is a much better achievement than trying to pander to the mainstream audience and losing the show with it. The show doesn't linger too much and the character actually communicate so that is great. Look back at the characters and what they characterize as now. Have a pass over the story you are trying to tell us, as the development since the Jaipur sequence, to me, has stagnated and skipped around in its focus. And take a broader look at the material you have and really give the grab bag a good shake. The entire canon is at your disposal.

(Of course, this is my opinion and others may disagree.)
