Laila was a character with so much potential, to reduce her to such one dimensional villainy.. Ok i better not get started on that, one of my pet peeves..

But if they do that to Tejawat that will be even more unpardonable. Tarun Khanna is a brilliant actor and after bringing him back i hope they utilise him fully.. In such a situation the blame is on all the three- pati, patni and woh.. The other woman or the other man is powerless if the pati-patni relation is perfect and smooth. Mala did not seem shallow enough to go for looks or money without sufficient reason..

Out of context, but western dramas are so much better at this- making the audience feel and sympathise for the supposed villain while at the same time supporting the leads..

Mohini can add the 19th century touch but hopefully Mala isn't the same..

when you say western here, not sure how many of you watch "once upon a time", i had followed it from season 1, and you have to commend the show on how they transform a evil queen and show you why she did what she did, and eventually you will fall in love with the character, and she finally gets what she is looking for...but , i say with a but...they do not change the character...she is still arrogent and all but we also can see the reason behind it, that i really liked..

tarun is a demanding actor , i dont think he will agree to reducing him to just a catalyst in bringing paro and rudra together
laila was rudra's past , i expected them to handle her track like that ,not like some s**t or criminal , she was neither she is a liberated woman who decided to live in with rudra because he had issues with marriage
so she deserved explanation if not love definitely respect , not learn for paro crap
why did a officer with so much of IQ be in a realtionship with a woman who is a potential criminal , if it was nothing but sex , he could have looked for other option (i mean women )
that too for 8 yrs
@snowfall
will check it out . once upon a time , another friend also recommended that show

Sorry I haven't see the one you mentioned.. I was thinking of Vampire diaries season 1 & 2 where Damon is all evil and can go to any extent for his purpose.. But even through all that there was a certain purpose to the character and a certain vulnerability that stops us from outright hating them.. Like you said about the evil queen, the character does not change but as time progresses the shades of grey can vary so much we cant make out if they really are evil..

Can they do such a thing with Laila? I ddont think so, they ve butchered her character too much for that.. Thakur deserves better than that..

Yeah Tarun had said something to that effect.. They could have spent some time on why Thakur considers himself wronged post independence and the reason for his hatred for BSD and Indian government, to explain why he is a triator.. Somehow it does not seem like its all about money.. He is quite rich on his own..

Similarly, the Mala story. Not many men in his position will want a married mother of a 14 year old for a wife.. So either he loved a lot or there should be some other reason..

Totally agree with you on Laila- they have just taken the easy way out making her out and out evil. If not for anything else she deserves an explanation for the time she spent on Rudra.

yeah takur's character has a lot of potential
that is an interesting point , why did he marry mala in the first place , i place my bet on love , the initial scenes were very romantic , even when she revealed about her son , he was fine and supportive
it is only when he realized its rudra his mission above love track came up
lets see how they go about it

I do not want to judge anyone now but guess is- Dilsher had inferiority complex and his wife was beautiful so he became a doubting husband hence became very bitter and a tormenting husband mental torture is more damaging. Some how Mala met Thakursa he was good with her we have seen he had always treated her with love and respect witch she never not get from her husband .So simple at heart Mala got manipulated by Thakursa that soon he will get her son by her side may be circumstances were such that she could not take Rudra with her that time and Thakur sa keep on giving her reasons for not being able to get her son.
Other situation could be that Dilsher in one of his drunken times threw her out and Mala could not take it anymore left and later on met Thakursa some how.

Looking at Mala's character I do not think she is some one who falls in love with other man and left her family just like that. Dilsher and Mohini seems to be equally responsible in her leaving. I remember one time Mohini mentioned that Mala was more loved by her own parents before their marriage as she was the perfect daughter.

Thakur didn't know Mala had a son until she told him a day or a few days before Rudra's wedding to Paro.
