edit: ok sorry I know a very looong post...I don't know why but I just cannot manage to write concisely...😳
Oki...where to begin...firstly AWESOME POST EVELINE!!! I have always loved your take on episodes...although this is your first post I ma reading on RR...I have read some of your previous ones in the IPK forum...n have thoroughly enjoyed them...you have a knack of bringing out the things that matter and putting it in your sweet way...loved the food analogy you use to explain your view on today's (or rather yesterday's now) episode...Some edges should not blunt, some rough corners should never be smoothened. Some spices should never be lessened cause they are meant to burn your tongue and sting your eyes...and issi mein mazaa hai!! 😆 Imagine Pani Puri with fudge water...🤢!!
Bang on!! 👏👏👏
And the same applies to Rudy Boy!! We all love him rude, and commanding. His no nonsense attitude and his I-don't-suffer-fools-gladly emblazoned on his handsome visage will always be our weak point.
Totally...Rudra not rude, to the point, calculating is like paani-puri with fudge water...the very thought makes your skin crawl...yeeesh...the whole point one love paani-puri is because it is hot, spicy, and most of khatta!! YUM...now I want to have some paani puri 😆
The milder Rudra...you are quite right is pheeka...compared to our hot-shot major saab...however I liked him too...I get your and many others view on how it butchers his character...by making him tone down and so changed...for it is too soon and also because just because he loves her doesn't mean he should change...because in love one technically shouldn't change, the whole point of someone loving you is that they love you the way you are...if they try and change you then they don't actually love you...as the song goes...pyar mein sauda nahin... and so where there is a lot of change there isn't love...but I personally feel he doesn't change instead we see another side of him...the side he has locked away...for as the title entails...rangrasiya - a man of many shades...so his mellow side is different shade of his...a shade that is new to Laila too and that is wwhy she claims that he has changed, but he hasn't this side was always part of him...he was always capable of being a caring person...which is shown in the flashbacks of his childhood with his mother...whenever with her he was sweet, yet naughty child...but when she leaves, he then shuts that side of him away until Paaro comes and forces it out of him again...
When he meets Paaro she forces the human back out of the animal's cage...because he tries his animalistic ways with her to get her to break and sign the confession but she doesn't break...the only times he ever manages to get through to her is when he lets a bit of the human inside of him out...when he shows her some soul...she listens to the human in him but completely ignores the animal...therefore because of Paaro he is forced to bring out his human side...and so the mellow Rudra we see is not a changed Rudra in my opinion but rather another side to him...and as the story progress one hopes to see many other sides...so far we have seen the always in control, smart, calculating Rudra which is his very essence, but with that have now glimpsed the caring Rudra too...we are yet to see the loving, passionate, affectionate Rudra...because I don't believe he is in love yet...he has only just opened his heart a begun caring for Paaro because she cares for him...so he can no longer not care for her...especially when he see's like you say she is a hazard to herself and needs to be saved from herself...as she is too gullible...too naive...too white...to pure...she is strong and wise but also too trusting and therefore cannot take care of herself...thus Rudra takes care of her...this caring side isn't a reversal of his character but rather a development...for Paaro has brought out the care in him...and not just her but his father's near death has opened the care inside of him...the care he had stowed away...
so I don't think it kills his character...but rather makes it more 3D then 2D...in that it gives him more definition, make him more real...if he was just the rude, no nonsense, commanding Rudra then he would lack depth...by giving him a past, with his mother and Laila gives him more shades...and bringing Paaro in sheds light onto those dark shades of his...making the 2D sketch appear to be 3D...it is the same you see with Mohini and Laila...they aren't just evil people...they have other sides to them too...Mohini a greedy, manipulative control freak...is shown to have a caring side, questionable, but caring nontheless...it is shown in the way she does things for her daughter, ie. dance in Rudra and Paaro's sangeet, where after getting Sumer kicked out she attends to him and is also upset at the turn of events where she had to lay the blame on him in order to stay in the haveli and ensure to kick Parud and Dilsher out...and the most surprising yet sweet form of her care was shown when she actually takes a stand for Maithali in front of Rudra...the maithali she never leaves a chance to taunt she stands up for her when Rudra in his anger blasts on her for not taking care of Paaro resulting in her eyes getting infected...Mohini knowing it wasn't her fault stands up for her...she could have remained quiet let Rudra continue bashing her but she doesn't...so cold and greedy as she is...she has a mellow side too...so does Laila...for it is the heart in her that is making her do all that she is doing to get Rudra back...whether or not she acutally loves rudra, or lusts after him, or is obsessed with...the point is she is most definitely attached to him...and that attaachment is what makes her jealous of Paaro...and while someone here said that the person she should be angry with is Rudra not Paaro or Mohini...then why is she targeting them...is because they are right Rudra deserves her wrath not Mohini or Paaro...but she cannot hurt Rudra for she loves him or if not then he is the object of her obsession or lust so she can fight with verbally but never actually dare to hurt him because she wants him...and so she hurts the people she can project her anger on Paaro to get her out of his life and thereby get Rudra back in her dillusional world and Mohini...because she is the one who brought her into the haveli gave her an opportunity to get Rudra back...showed her hope when she was desperately looking for it...but that hope comes to no avail and so now she turns on Mohini for she doesn't know who else to unleash that anger of failure on instead of the one who suggested she took that path...thus no character has just the one side they have many if you want a story to be well developed...
Therefore I have no qualms with the soft Rudra as his different shades develop the the story and his character...what I will have a problem with is if they make him loose roughness...I want to see the many shades they have in store for us as long as they don't forget the previous shades they have shown...and so as long as they keep his rough side, alongside his caring side I have no issues...the way it was done in the bedroom scene...he shows care by putting the pillow to her but at the same time is rude about it...for he snaps at her inability to save herself...then again when she asks him a question he first says no...for he is major ranawat who has given no one the right to ask him anything...but then concedes...because she is Paaro who tugs at his heart...as she is the one who has located it's existence... so as long as they don't loose his character traits I have no problems with any new sides to him...because like you say at the end of the day we may enjoy the new sides...but we love the Rude Rudy and the Sweet Paro...
Loved the way he ousted her out, literally kicked the B**** out...YAY!!! Today belonged to Rudra and Laila (sorry...I know most of us don't appreciate the lady..but that's the truth) and both did justice, the fireworks were awesome!! And loved the way he went around it, Not in temper, not throwing a fit, but playing and beating Laila at her own game...mind games!!
Totally...that whole scene from where Laila walks into the lounge over-confidence seeping from her so much so that she assumes Rudra has brought a doctor for himself and is thinking about introducing him to the whole family...for someone who claims to know Rudra so well how could she even think a private person like him would flaunt about a physical impairity in him by calling a doctor and discussing his hand with him in front of the family...who he doesn't even consider his family...the over-confidence makes blinds her knowledge of him hear...and then Rudra goes into his full sarcastic and calculative mode...haiya how Love this Rudra...the doctor is for you friend, because I know you can't stand pain loved this duplicitous statement...the surface meaning for Pure Paaro...she has been injured and so should have a check up...the hidden meaning for Laila you are hurting because I am no longer with you...you can't stand it that is why you are here to try and get rid of Paaro and thereby your pain...
and then the showdown in the room...uff uff...someone mentioned they were in the mood of whistling here...I too was...like you said the fireworks were AWESOME!! Ankita and Ashish outdid themselves...and today I don't know about anyone else but I thought Ankita looked truly very pretty. her hair, make-up were great she truly fit the role of femme-fatal in the scene...scenes prior to this one she hadn't seemed to grasp it...but here was brilliant...too bad when it was her time of departure she nailed the black side of her character...but it gives me hope of when she comes back that she will be brilliant...I had no problem with character or Ankita when she came, because the character is solid and Ankita a good actor...but for some reason in the intial episodes of when she comes back the two seemed to be at misfits with each other...may be the long break in the character made her forget it or something...because she had been bang on in the haldi scenes...just when she comes back...may be it was bichari act that she couldn't pull off, as she knew in fact she wasn't a bichari but only acting to be...who knows or maybe that was the way she was supposed t be n we as always were reading too much into it... but anyways she's got it n now when she comes back it will spectacular... I hope anyway...as in we will hate and yet love her for being fabulous as Laila...
Saccharine sweet and deceptively caring, butter wont melt in his mouth.
I loved this line in your post...nails his character precisely 😛😆
the biggest mystery though why do all women call him Aman Bhai Sa...huh?? Blind or what ??
😆 Yes this is a mystery to me too...only sunehri seems to have eyes when it comes to Aman...
your checklist...totally apt 👏
6 months vs 8 years...effectively silenced not only Laila but all detractors questioning such a long involvement...the lady in question never knew what love is and will never will see beyond her nose, and the cherry on the top...Shut up...don't you dare say anything..not a word against my Paro, my life and my wife. Special mention...KaakiSa's mooh bundh...always a treat to watch the maasi bhanja duo go hammer and tongs at each other...was so missing their cut throat slit wrist love 😆!!
Definitely the highlights of yesterdays episode...n especially his Kaki saaa...haiye I love his sarcasm...KcM and Rudra tete-a-tete are always a pleasure to watch...definitely did miss thoses...I think that was moreso out problem in the past two weeks the rudra in action was missing...it wasn't that we didn't like the soft Rudra...it was the fact that this is supposed to be an action filled-love story and the action was missing in it for a couple of weeks I think that was what the problem was...no showdowns...the balance had tipped to story telling and the action lost somewhere...now as a inexperienced writer I understand that for plot development this is neccessary at times...n we should be patient viewers... as you said it in absence of Darling Teju and been there done that KCM, Laila is the catalyst this story needs, so grin and bear !! But unfortunately while we know this fact at the back of our minds we still are impatient...😳
coming to our Paaro baisa...there was only in one place I thought we may have lost our Dhuan Kumari...the daal incident...when she doesn't object to Laila taking it out...or rather she does with her eyes...but says nothing...that was the only moment...I felt like WHAT?!!! 😲 where has lucid Paaro gone...this was the only place where I felt her character may be tampered with...but all is forgiven...but the sweet goodbye speech she gives...oh paaro you truly are too sweet...n Laila, Kaki sa and Rudra's expressions all priceless...the latter's relief and then smirk...hah she didn't stop you even with the emotional drama you try...I know my wife "dost"...and the Mohini n Laila...What?!! 😲 then 😡 i not only underestimated Rudra but you too...regardless of seeing me as a friend you want me away from your husband...because it's not that she feels Rudra will fall for Laila coming out of the shock she can see Rudra care a hoot about Laila...she worries for Laila that being near him will be painful for her as she loves him...and she doesn't want those feelings to revive and bring Laila pain...hahaha...classic!!😆 She bought the emotion only not in the way Laila wanted...by suggesting they were alike she realises it will be hard for her to be around someone you love but who doesn't love you back...n so she sides with her husband with her best interest at heart...it had me fits...BRILLIANT!!! 👏🤣
Whatever happens tomorrow, please don't tamper with the hot Major and the cool Paro. They say the more things change the more they remain the same...wish, hope and pray that our Rough Rudra and Smooth Paro never never change!!
Completely second this statement...develop their characters away...but be careful not loose their beauty which is in their primal nature...Rudra animalist - in that he is rough and protective. Paaro delicate - in that she is serene and strong but at the same time vulnerable.
