I disagree, RR is beautiful in its own way whereas Madhubala never appealed to me that much. I started watching MB, because, I thought RK was one of those unique dark heroes of tv, different from gul khan arrogant heroes, but soon i left the show.
the thing which makes me love RR more is :-a) RK was always shown to be disrespectful towards women, whereas Rudra even if he hated women, he never disrespected women, be it the mother of the shaheed BSD guy, Paro and bindni while he saved them from goons or even laila by not blaming her for the 8 years fling.b) RK was selfish, he married madhu and then played with her emotions and later dumped her. Rudra did not marry Paro , but he was forced by paro herself, and still even if he took those vows, he certainly did not ditch her because he loved and respected her.c) Madhu fell for RK even after seeing his brutal side, but Paro fell for Rudra only after she faced the truth that Rudra was right and Tejawat was wrong. RK fell for Madhu seeing her goodness, but Rudra fell for Paro during the days when Paro hated him completely.d) RK broke madhu's engagement, but still the engagement was viable because the fiancee was good, Rudra killed Paro's husband to save her, he killed a terrorist and did not harm an innocent man.e) lastly, RK expected Madhu's attention and sacrifice all the time but Rudra never expected or demanded anything from paro, bt paro gave it willingly because she found him selfless and so honest .I left MB, because at a point i felt that RK's character was so less of content and insight and more of external decorations such as style and dialogues. Moreover, his character was never proactive, it was always madhubala who would take the initiatives. But in RR, i was found Rudra interesting because more than style, his character had the content, the varied layers, complexity and insight, furthermore, his character has always been proactive, even many people complained that the show focusses more on him than that off Paro. whatever, i find Rudra very different from any other male lead, and this factor makes me watch the show.
