How an actress can make or break a scene

Today's episode was one of the finest and most brilliant episodes in Rangrasiya or any other desi show I have every watched.
There was amazing intensity, cruelty, innocence, betrayal, heart break, hurt and a never before seen darkness in an Indian soap (atleast from what I have seen)

Having said that this episode brought to the forefront a stark contrast in acting, how a good actress can connect with the audience and enhance the scene, and a bad actress can reduce the impact of a scene and completely destroy it. I watch shows from the female perspective, the female lead and the supporting female cast are very important for me to stick to a show.

Sanaya Irani is a big revelation for me.
Today Paro brought tears to my eyes. This is first time I am crying for a character on screen.
It was so heart shattering for me to see this girls faith, innocence and purity suffered a big set back today. As her husband laid in front of her, his dark past and demons in his life, her pure soul was broken. Paro's difficulty in comprehending that her husband 8 year fling was need based and not love based, her emotional breakdown and her silence thereafter were the high points today. Sanaya really made me feel Paro's pain so much and that's what a good actress does. The amazing thing about her acting was that she had minimal dialogues and yet made such a huge impact...her eyes speak a lot.

The actress playing Laila was a big let down. I am surprised how the makers cast her for such an important role. All other actors are perfect. But this one leaves much to be desired.
She is trying hard to be evil, but is not coming through at all.
Hope the makers reduce her role or find a better actress to fill her role.

The precap left me a little confused and shaken
Paro's tears pained me and Rudra's action confused me, but let's wait for Monday.

I am also impressed with the male lead and actresses playing kakisa, Mythili and the actor playing Rudra's dad.

Kudos to The makers of this show for showing a very bold concept.

Lastly, Sanaya Irani has a new fan in my husband.
He watched the full episode with me today after I told him about the revelation. Since he was already appreciative of her acting after seeing last weeks mirchi attack scene he took my word and watched.
And he just can't stop raving about her acting.

Boy, the difference in acting between the two actresses was like day and night.

Want to thank all for responding to my earlier post.
I love visiting here occasionally, reading others thoughts and leaving my thoughts.

Firstly you have totally got the whole a good actress can make a scene and a bad one can break it

Sanaya had probably like 10 words throughout the whole episode and she made such a huge impact, whereas Laila had probably over 100 and i was like yawn go away!! No offence to her but yeah she's trying to hard it comes out fake and unnatural alot of the times

Anyways Sanaya was amazing today, no wonder your husband has become a fan

Great Post <3

Sanz is just wow...
Many a times I feel because of her very pretty face the actress in her doesn't get her due...
For me sanz is ultimate Lucy ball of India...
She is so perfect...
Well actress playing Laila is suffering because of bad screenplay...
May be they need to tone down her clingy behaviour which comes out as ott...but actress playing Laila
has to make us viewers hate her..not get annoyed by her...
I hope they change few things & give Ankita lotte more on screen decency...las a woman and as a human being...

lovely post.

sanaya can convey any emotions with her expressive eyes..
that is how an excellent actress she is...

and because of this fact alone, last night's episode is on repeat...
but of course with FF the vamp's part ...

we have enough of laila ... no matter who plays the character, laila has to go away NOW ...

Fab post
Really like it
Sanay's Irani is a brilliant actress , she can talk through her eyes ,
Her body language , her expressions , her voice modulation every thing is just perfect
And that's why she was outstanding throughout the epi , she had minimum dialogues and not enough screen space in today's epi
But she nailed it
Anikta was present in every single scene , but not impressive at all
Her over used of facial muscles , her head jerks , annoying eyebrow moments made it really hard to tolerate her
I wounded why ST select her for the character of Laila
