A face , a persona , an aura that screams LOOK AT ME when she walks into a frame. The kind of brand that Ekta Kapoor created - where obsessed women wreak havoc in lives of their lovers and their ladyloves. The faces, the aura, the dialogues, the 'adaa' and 'andaaz' makes you hate them with passion and that is their victory. You can pick up the best and worst EK soap and yet the negative lead rocks - perfect casting and perfect characterization.

Laila and Ankita have no allure , aura, persona or presence as the 'other woman' or a 'vamp'. Ankita is your girl next door with a cute face. She is not the stuff a 'temptress' is made of and she never was.

Antagonist has to have an aura which make you love to hate them.

RR is a good story and has a great cast ensemble but characters like Sunehri and Laila have not worked from day 1.

Should I faint like Paro and hope u will catch me like Rudra since u have entered my post?😆
Mallooo🤗

And what can I say...someone here mentioned the girl playing kumud's bhabhi in Saraswatichandra...NOW that's what I call aura...adaah...andaaz of a vamp...sexy...sassy...classy and u hate her with passion when she comes on screen...

Can Ankita play BFF to PaRud instead and ship them against Mausam aunty?😳

If CVs showed that she doesnot know that and while staying here discovers the change in Rudra and feel he never loved her, tries to be possesive and later realise that Rudra was never hers, then it would have been a better track.

But since Ankita wanted to leave the show as she was not being used, her tracked is forced i guess. like Tarun khanna left RR. PH and CVs are using Ankita/Laila before she moves out.
Since CVs have already brought Laila back, i guess by the time they end this track they should show that paro comes to know the real relationship between Rudra and Laila and not an informer who loves her husband. She should know it was two ways and lasted for 8 yrs and she should not be mahaan. Paro should know and also feel bad about it. I don't mind if she thinks for sometime that Rudra married her to save his job and hated her. They should also show Rudra seeing how it affected Paro and repent that his past caused pain to Paro. He should be frustrated and take steps to make her understand.
Always Paro has insisted on this relationship/marriage either in the name of Shivparvati or destiny but this time Rudra should realise that he wants this marriage and her. I guess that would still give meaning to this track instead of Laila doing her nautanki.

thanks...

There are lots of reasons why characters are brought back into the storyline...and that's not a problem...as long as it is done right and does not feel forced.

Currently...a few things are not working in the favor of this track:
1. Ankita is not the right face for Laila
2. Triangles are cliched esp when Laila already have felt that Rudra loves Paro so her trying to force herself between them doesn't make sense and becums the regular cliched triangle.
3. The screen presence of Sanaya, Ashish and Ananya are way too strong for Ankita to hold her flag ...

As for Paro' reactions if and when she knows the actual relationship between Rudra and Laila...I dunno if she will feel sad or hurt or betrayed or any of that negative emotion. She is too naive...innocent and WHITE...to even grasp those negative feelings. If anything...I see her wanting to do her tyaag at even more rocket speed of letting go Rudra coz she will only think she is reason why major went through all the problems and Laila got separated from him. She will most likely think of herself as the third angle than Laila being the third angle. And with her blind faith in Bholenaath...she will only think that her Bholenaath sent Laila to take care of Rudra since she has promised Rudra's tyaag...
Errrmmm...I dunno if I will quite like that idea in that case

Laila's character has no charm anymore, she no longer fits into RR, and yes you're right...Ankita does not have a strong screen presence...it may be because Sanaya and Ashish are fully settled into their characters and Ankita is not, but nevertheless...Laila is just not working. I am not scared of what she can do, not does she ignite hate in me. All she does is irritate me and that too because I also find her presence in the haveli illogical and her antics can be described at best as baseless. When I see Laila on screen I have to stop myself from fast-forwarding...and when I am forced to watch her...all I can do is mentally try to calculate how long she may be in the show before her track finishes...God I hope it is soon...

Exactly my thoughts

Bang on post! I agree with you that Ankita is not the right fce for the character of Laila. No matter how much she moves her body (this is what i've noticed since the begining) she cant act like a villain.

I guess Laila's mantra is "if you try and don't succeed, try and try again". At least she's in character- she's been trying for 8 years, what's 2 more days of desperate attempts? 😆 Nevertheless, as long as she brings Paro and Rudra closer, like she's been doing fabulously since she entered, I'm a happy camper. That's the point of any vamp in a love story. I will say, all vamps are annoying as heck, it's not only Laila. Even if the actresses suit the role, they are irritating and awful. I remember Kis Desh Mein hai Mera Dil and other ones my mother used to watch and the vamps were irritating as hell. So my point: all vamps are irritating and make you fast forward their scenes. Laila is no different.

I do agree though, Ankita isn't suited for this role. I haven't seen any of her previous shows, but she doesn't have a vampish bone in her body. Credit to her for trying though...

they are not using her well enough , she could have done much more by the way they portrayed her in the beginning i liked her character and found it interesting and complex now they have made her into an typical sass -bahu drama vamp with dumb ideas to separate the lead .

i guess i read too many fanfics in the forum and expected something of that level .

That's my point..according to me, laila ws nt supposed to be a vamp.. A grey character, yes..bt intelligent, worldly, n nt out n out black..and earlier, she looked the part perfectly..nw she's been reduced to the regular ekta kapoor type vamp, who plsys sm idiotic tricks bt she doesn't look the part..so ots sm weird khichadi that's js nt wrking

Totally agree with you guys.Love to read your posts. I feel that Laila is kinda obbsesive with Rudra. In a bad way.I didn't like it a bit how she touched Rudra uniform. She was looking crazy.I hope they end this all Laila track very soon.By the way , isn't strange that Rudra have just one uniform.I thought that military mens they need to have more then one uniform in their wardrobe.Until Paro came I thought that Rudra will chage uniform. Is logical no?How Laila knew he has just one uniform? Oh, stupid me.I forgot that she is a spy, so she was cheeking the wardrobe before making this brilliant plan.Bravo Laila! Bravo! For giving us some really cute scene with Parud.
