But as much as he shined in the first scene today with BANG ON expressions...the shine was off in the subsequent scenes...like for example the scene where she tells him why she did what she did...he had a blank expression...what happened? There should have been an expression there...

The scene post singing fell totally FLAT for me...yes it was supposed be an act...but it was rather awkward...I felt no romance...not even an awareness in the scene where he wipes her tears...I think he recovered in the last scene ...so am looking forward to tomorrow...

I agree with you but I don't know if it was just Ashish or the direction as well. When Paro tells Rudra why she came onto the bed, he stares at her, but the director doesn't really linger or zoom in on Rudra's face/face expressions...Ashish's main expressions are so beautiful because of his soulful eyes...and the director didn't linger on those...so I don't know.

It would be nice to know...! I thought I heard some notes ...that were right ...even with a deliberate attempt to butcher...😃

UPDATE-
Yes...Paro didn't take his screaming lightly...she had a HOW COULD YOU ACCUSE ME OF THAT response...!! She also wasn't just a quiet crier...she told him in no uncertain terms that she decided to do this for his maan leaving hers...aside...The girl is intelligent, well spoken and firm despite her soft demeanor...

Your prediction about how Laila story will go is AWESOME! If that comes true...you are on a roll for coming up with PROFOUND discoveries...👍🏼

Thanks Sush 😊

By the way, just realised I've started to write more than I ever intended toStarting to feel like Rudra in alien waters now...😳😆

Feel like silently stalking your posts for the rest of the week now. Zzz...😃

About the prediction, I do want to see Rudra drive Paro away at some point as in she sees no other way to help him out of his supposed misery but go away. Wud love to see Rudra react to that .

India's Supreme Court: Transgender is a Third Legal Gender

First Time the Court Has Recognized a Third Gender to Give Legal Status and Better Protection

By
NIKITA LALWANI
April 15, 2014 3:01 p.m. E

NEW DELHI"India's Supreme Court for the first time recognized a third gender Tuesday in a judgment aimed at giving transgender Indians their own legal status and better legal protection and privileges.

A two-judge bench ruled that transgender people will now have the option to identify themselves as a third gender"instead of just male or female"in government documents, including passports and identification cards.

The Supreme Court said discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation violates constitutional guarantees of equality, privacy and dignity.

"This is an extremely liberal and progressive decision that takes into consideration the ground realities for transgender people in India," said Anitha Shenoy, a lawyer who helped argue the case. "The court says your identity will be based not on your biology but on what you choose to be."

India is the latest of several South Asian countries to recognize a third gender. Neighboring Nepal has added a third gender option to government documents, as have Pakistan and Bangladesh. Germany became the first European country to recognize a third gender last year, allowing parents to mark "indeterminate" on birth certificates.

India's top court Tuesday also directed the federal and state governments to include transgender people as members of the country's "backward classes," an official designation, often based on caste, which entitles socially and economically disadvantaged groups to affirmative action in school admissions and state employment.

The decision is revolutionary, some activists said, especially for a court that just last December reaffirmed a colonial-era law criminalizing homosexuality.

In that ruling, the court upheld Section 377 of the Indian penal code, which makes consensual gay sex punishable by a prison term of up to 10 years.

Tuesday's judgment pointed to the country's history of discrimination against transgender people. India's roughly three million transgender people are particularly vulnerable to public harassment, violence and sexual assault, the court said.

India has a vast and varied transgender community. Perhaps most prominent are the hijras, typically male to female transgender people who often live in close-knit groups and whose members are sometimes castrated.

Hijras have had a place in Indian society for centuries, and their presence at a wedding or after the birth of a child is considered auspicious. Still, they remain deeply marginalized.

In recognition of this deep-seated stigma, the court directed federal and state governments to address the "fear, shame, gender dysphoria, social pressure" and depression that afflict India's transgender community. It also said transgender people should have access to separate public toilet facilities.

Simran Shaikh, 31, an HIV/AIDS activist who identifies as hijra, said her gender expression has often triggered abuse. She doesn't use public transportation for fear of harassment and has been turned away from job interviews because of how she dresses.

"Until now, I had no legal rights and no legal identity," she said. "This wonderful verdict means I don't have to be a 'Mr.' or a 'Mrs.' I can just be Simran."

The verdict will create more education and employment opportunities for transgender people, said Abhina Aher, 37, who also identifies as hijra. She said she hopes it will also increase awareness of health issues, like HIV, prevalent in transgender communities.

With Tuesday's decision, India's top court appeared to return to its activist roots, said lawyer Menaka Guruswamy.

"The court is going back to what it has traditionally done, which is to expand rights, address disadvantages, and proscribe discrimination," Ms. Guruswamy said. "It's a tremendous ruling."

Although the judgment doesn't contest the validity of the December ruling banning gay sex, it acknowledges that Section 377 has been used historically as "an instrument of harassment and physical abuse" against transgender people.

"One bench clearly believes the statute has been used to harass and blackmail sexual minorities, while the other bench appears to ignore such harassment," Ms. Guruswamy said.

Activists are hopeful the Supreme Court will now revisit its December decision.

Anjali Gopalan, director of the Naz Foundation (India) Trust, the New Delhi-based NGO that filed a lawsuit challenging Section 377, called Tuesday's decision cause for optimism.

Tuesday's decision could also encourage the next government to repeal the colonial-era law, said Shailesh Rai, policy adviser at Amnesty International India.

Thanks for sharing, Shwets! I understand the background better now...

Although I have serious issues with the manner in which it is trying to fix the issue...The whole concept of reservation for backward classes makes a mockery of the entire system and how equal opportunity provisions are supposed to work...what India needs is a society where law enforcement is possible ...and is done promptly and without influence of the connected class...instead what we have is that there are artificial classes being created where reservation quota is distributed like a favor...to multiple classes while discriminating against other classes...The reservation amount is so high as a total that it puts the word minority to shame...I wish, India focused more on anti discrimination laws and law enforcement rather than expanding the reservation system based on caste as a solution to all issues...

So, if it well recognized that section 377 is used to justify discrimination and is outdated and serving no purpose...repeal or fix that ...rather than dancing around the issue and offering patchwork solutions...

Anyway...that is a debate for another day...and perhaps another forum...but I do understand Ashish sa's position in cheering the seemingly progressive decision in a society that is giving mixed signals about which direction it is going in...!!

Mission Impossible for both , let's wait and watch who makes it possible first 😆

Paro has come a long way , getting Rudra's attention to the fact he called himself a thorn ...way to go Paro bhaisa . I loved the fact Paro once again reiterate her love for Rudra ... The girl is resilient ...Rudra accusing Paro of luring him was hurtful , was trilled to see Paro's reaction walking away then what follows next was icing on the cake 😆

To watch Rudra singing to Paro was endearing, well executed scene ...Kaki looked more shocked than Paro 😆

How sweet was Paro to tell her husband ,duniya ulti kyu na ho rahi ho but please don't sing and the giggle which followed was a million dollar. Well , bechara Rudra had no choice but to get wifey to share his bed.

"Was it you or I who stumbled first? It does not matter. The one of us who finds the strength to get up first, must help the other."
Vera Nazarian

Like Tennessean said, it was all about support .

Once again the show stopper was Mr Shakhawat , amazing dialogues 👏

CV's would like to see more of KCM and Rudra banna in a frame .

BTW , Sanaya did mention in one of the SBS seg Ashish wanted to be a singer kuch jama nhi ...her exact words ,"lat mili toh tu yaha aa pahuncha"
So yes , I am sure the man can sing he tried real hard to sound dissonant .

Kuch to resistance banta hei...all those vachans and all...we want him to hold at least for some time...right?😆

There is already talk about giving in...😲

See I feel he was supposedly drunk and made those harsh vows to her he will never give her any happiness...he will never belong to her .. He has not done anything to her,.. I am not a kill joy...but right now he is just a little miffed...once he gets back his job.. Things will be hunky dory.. He's got a job..position.. Daddy is happy because he's settled with a wife.. He's got a pretty wife who loves him and takes care of the house.. Why will he not take the bait.. Why go out hunting when there is delicious cooked food available at home..
Talking in recruiting tems... From hunter Rudy boy becomes a farmer...then where is the next turn in the story... Laila..

I feel Laila has to come fast...

What if they show real hatke... They show rudra sleeping with paro but still being an uncaring husband...he says u wanted this... I will not belong to you... I will take you when ever I want to.. But always in my terms... But u have no hold over me..
How emotionless he was with Laila ... It's the same rudra...

I don't think that track will happen because... Rudy is already singing don't lure me...giving those frightened virgin talks

Well he's got everything in his surroundings, physically, but inside his heart he may fight a battle everyday. He hates beautiful women and can't bring himself to trust and love Paro unconditionally, and I guess that's what this show is about...his internal journey...I guess there will be several MUs in his physical surroundings to delay the end of his internal journey...and that's what we're here to see...after he finally loves and trusts Paro, you're right, what will we see? Probably some separation tracks, basically all Indian dramas go down the drain after some time...so we might as well enjoy them while they're good...

Laila will definitely be a separation track for some time, but I don't think Rudra would want to sleep with Paro right now - simply because he CAN'T be uncaring towards her, and he's afraid that if he gets close to her he won't be able to control his heart...so in order to protect his heart I believe he will keep his pants on...Rudra slept with Laila and was cool with it because he didn't feel any emotions by sleeping with her, but with Paro it won't be the same...so no it won't be the same Rudra...

LOL I actually can't wait for the Laila track now though, it's going to be so interesting to see Rudra pining to win Paro's trust/love again 😆
