After three episodes of sunshine, today, the CVs gave us a lightning change of mood. In place of the comedy, we found ourselves under the darkening shadow of a thriller as Kakisa took advantage of Bhima's ransom demand to have Paro delivered into the hands of the killers.
The hunt for Mythili took on a serious cast with Kakisa having her hands full with trying to calm a worried Samrat while also trying to find a way out of the stew they were in. So, when the phone rang she managed to persuade Sumer to take the call.
A livid Bhima left Sumer in no doubt that his mistake had been discovered. And wasted no time in letting Sumer know the consequences. He'd better find himself a crematorium, Bhima raged, when the Thakur found out, even Sumer's parents would not remember they'd had a child by that name. He didn't care if it was a mistake, Sumer's sister or sister-in-law, whoever she was, was as good as dead. Just as Sumer would be the moment Bhima spilled the beans to the Thakur.
So, Sumer bargained with the only chip he had. It was equally Bhima's fault. Bhima had made the mistake of not checking the delivery. So Bhima's life was also on the line. If he kept this whole sorry mess from the Thakur then there was a good chance that they could salvage it all before the Thakur found out.
That won him a respite, but only half-an-hour's worth. He would have to deliver Paro to Bhima in that time at a godown halfway between Birpur and Chandangarh. The unspoken threat, tightening like a noose around his neck, Sumer went to enlist Kakisa's help to breathe easy. There was a new deal now, he told her when he could talk. Kakisa couldn't care less. She'd have danced to a bhajan if it meant getting Mythili back. She'd happily sacrifice Paro if it meant Mythili being released and returned to them.
Stumbling in on the end of their conversation, Paro was horrified, her suspicions confirmed. There was something wrong with Jija's disappearance. Paro confronted Kakisa with the results of her eavesdropping.
And Kakisa lunged at the wisp of opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. Under the smokescreen of tears and grief, she cold-bloodedly set her plan into motion. Mythili had been kidnapped. And there had been a demand, perhaps for ransom.
A matter of life and death! Paro could only think of one solution: the Jallad! "Call him...your nephew," she urged Kakisa. "He'll make everything come right." It never occurred to her to question why the man she preferred to think of as the Jallad was the man she would turn to to save a life. The man she would trust to get them out of trouble. That she had no hesitation in thinking that he would agree to save the life. And not just hers. But his sister-in-law's life. No. Paro didn't dwell on her feelings. Her trust in the Jallad went beyond nebulous thought, beyond arguable reason, beyond cold, hard logic to unshakeable faith and a visceral belief.
Realising she couldn't get out of it, Kakisa deployed her cunning. She called Rudra, pulling him out of a crucial meeting. The moment he heard his aunt identify herself, Rudra snapped to attention. His reaction not one of irritation but urgency. "Is Paro okay?" In a house full of relatives and an asthmatic father, it was Paro Rudra first thought of. Her safety his prime concern. Her well-being that surmounted everyone else's. No ill should befall Paro because otherwise...
Rudra could not have for the life of him enumerated what galaxies the 'otherwise' encompassed; how vast the boundaries of the consequences Paro's harm might be; or considered that if anything were to happen to his Paro his own orbit might judder to a halt. No. Rudra could not have articulated beyond his official cover why Paro's well-being was paramount to him. But he said it anyway.
Unfortunately, that one line that hid a wealth of meaning would fall on the wrong ears and remain unheard. Kakisa was too busy slotting in another piece of her plan. With the push of a few buttons she managed to convince Paro that Rudra would not come to Jija's and their rescue. Now Sumer would go with the ransom money and Kakisa would accompany him to see that Mythili had come to no harm, that is, only if Kakisa wasn't more use at home. And so Kakisa drew from Paro the reaction she wanted. Loyal, good-hearted, selfless, brave, foolish Paro agreed to accompany Sumer, in direct contravention of Rudra's Rules.
For a moment, with her foot poised over the threshold, Paro paused to consider Rudra's admonishment to her to never leave the haveli - not under any circumstances. But then she was swept along by a determined Sumer carrying the ransom, she thought, to the SUV. She was not to know that it was she who was the ransom - a ransom heading straight into the jaws of danger.
So tonight came the twist. Tomorrow Paro will come face-to-face with Tejawat's men. Will she be taken? Or will Sumer rescue her right back and bring all three of them back to the haveli? That, of course, is the question on our minds. It's worth considering that after Bhima's open take-no-prisoners approach, Sumer might realise that he wasn't going to get a penny, leave alone six lakhs, out of the Thakur. And that it might be worthwhile hanging on to the golden goose for another deal. On the other hand, if it came to saving his own life or Paro's I think we all know where Sumer's preferences would lie. Plus, he now has a convincing excuse to give Rudra.
As far as Paro is concerned, Mythili's 'kidnapping' will have convinced her that Rudra is right and that her life is in danger. But will she recognise Bhima as Tejawat's man? Or is that something the CVs would like us to conveniently forget, I wonder. If Paro is captured by Bhima, it also serves the purpose of keeping her unaware of Tejawat's and Kakisa's ultimate involvement in this plot. So the faces of the villains remain masked. Sheer curiosity makes me wonder who will bell the cat and break the news to Rudra, and to what extent Rudra will figure out his aunt's/Sumer's involvement in this 'kidnapping'. But all that for tomorrow...
Today, acting was convincing from all cast. Special mention to Sanaya, Ananya and the actor who plays Sumer for making us believe their anxiety, fear, panic and desperation. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ And kudos to the supporting cast for ably essaying their roles. Hats off to the CVs for driving the story forward in this new direction, which has us all intrigued. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

Fantastic as always! Will you hate me if I admit I'm waiting for the day your dictionary runs out of Rs to use? The episode ended this evening with my shouting out----Ransom! ransom! and actually thinking of sending you an unsolicited PM with the suggestion!!

I this the person who already belled the cat before Paro and Sumer got to the "midpoint" between Birpur and Chandigarth is Dilsher. It struck me as strange that he would hobble off just when the revelations were being made, unless of course Rudra was about to get a second phone call from home this morning, and this one designed to make him abso-goddamn-lutely beserk with rage. Plus, he's already out, somewhere close to Birpur, surveying the Mela, and he would be able to get to the midpoint if he hauled ass, no?

I dont buy the Sumer helping Paro angle simply because Sumer has to stay on as Kakisa's right hand man. He had no qualms handing over a woman of his own household wrapped like a mummy for money. This is not hero material--would the CVs waste screen time on the damsel in distress being rescued by the fool who got her into distress?

Everyone is hoping for some NK style light crush, but Sumer is, inherently, a spoilt, cruel man with no regard for women, not even for his mother, who he puts down as he is a "mard" even as he fears her. Stupidity and cute bumbling does not an NK make. I'm sure the CVs have him slated for the Medium-Baddie/Comic relief, but I would not buy him politely falling for Paro as an acceptable jealous angle, where he pines for the tithliya, but does nothing more than sigh longingly. Sumer would be very--lets say unpleasant.

Also, frankly,if Rudra felt jealous, he would take out his gun and shoot the source of his insecurities. This is not a man that will respond well to the slightest shadow of the woman he is obsessed with cheating or potentially straying on him--given his history this would not be a cute angry-eye Sax, concerned ASR pacing the floor. NK got a few angry comments and a light collar hold. Rudra would do murder.

Awesome analysis...though I didnt quite get what u were trying to hint towards the end...I mean ur doubts.
So u think Rudra will salvage the situation or Sumer...or u think Paro will actually get ransomed by Bhima?
Also...no welcome to Rudra Banna Sa?๐Ÿ˜†
Banda has gone stick thin and fragile...makes me think he might not be the one saving Paro afterall...that is if CVs give him a break from doing action scenes just yet!

Nice take. Yup, the CVs continue to do well in an emergency situation. Nice to see Ashish for a brief scene. Mohini amazes as the master manipulator. Sanaya, Ananya and Udit did really well today.

Thank you, Sajni. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Actually, I wasn't trying to hint at what I think will happen. I was just stacking up the arguments for either of the three eventualities: 1. That Sumer will rescue Paro; 2. That Sumer will leave Paro to Tejawat's men; and 3. That having been left with the 'kidnappers', Paro will be rescued by Rudra.
There are I'm sure many more options, including Paro escaping all by herself, and Sumer, Mythili and Paro all being taken prisoner. But for whatever reason I seem to think the above three more likely. And I was trying to throw the floor open to guesses.๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Personally, I think it very likely that Sumer might rescue Paro back. It doesn't gel with his character otherwise. He needs the money and he won't get it by leaving Paro to Bhima's mercies. And with the goons attacking Paro, he'll realise that she's at risk too. And so far they haven't shown him as being okay with serious violence against women - just greedy and selfish. Def capable of redemption. So just on those two counts, and the fact that Paro saved his life, he should save hers too. This way, we get to see another attempt on Paro's life/another kidnapping by Tejawat.
The question then is, what will this track have achieved? Will it just have made Sumer realise how dangerous Tejawat is? It will def make Paro reassess how much of a danger she is in. And it will tell Tejawat that Kakisa does indeed have Paro. But beyond that what?
Then again, we don't know where Mythili is. If Paro has already rescued her, then yes they are on their way home. But if Mythili is still stuck then, Sumer might be tempted to go and rescue her, while Paro runs interference. He could always explain it away as he just had to find Mythili.
Sorry too tired and sleepy to explain options 2 and 3 tonight, but you can draw your conclusions and no doubt you have your preference too, which I'd love to hear.๐Ÿ˜Š
As for Ashish's return - I hadn't realised that he'd returned - thought this was one of his last shots before the illness!!!! But now that you've point it out - WELCOME BACK ASHISH!! ๐Ÿฅณ
Waiting for some PaRud moments!!

Thank you, Napster. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Believe me, you aren't the only one who's wondering when the Rs run out - I'm right there with you. ๐Ÿ˜† My consolation is that when all else fails, there's always RRudra!!! ๐Ÿ˜† And please feel free to PM me any R titles you come up with - in fact open offer to everybody. And I'll credit you with it if I use it - word of honour.๐Ÿ˜Š
Napster, you may well be right about Rudra rescuing Paro. Yes Sumer is a slime-ball. And he has a ready-made excuse now that saves him being dismembered by Rudra - that Mythili was kidnapped and Paro taken by the goons because she was fighting them.
I'm wondering if Rudra will answer the next phone call from home or switch off his phone, now that he's had a nuisance call from Kakisa. If he does take the call, then yes it'll be 'Rudra to the rescue' (poss title for tomorrow? ๐Ÿ˜†). And yes it makes sense for Paro to be rescued before she learns too much abt Tejawat's involvement, because if she knows T is evil, she could sign the document Rudra has got her for the BSD. And we know that won't happen so soon.
Plus I'd love Rudra to find Paro and for them to share a PaRud moment.
Like you, I too don't buy any romantic angle with Sumer. That's just not happening. But have stated my reasons for Sumer's rescue of Paro in a previous reply - sorry it's way past bedtime and I'm too tired to repeat. ๐Ÿ˜Š
But I bet the CVs will throw a googly tomorrow.

Well said...
Cvs did a great job of moving the story in a interesting way without spoiling story..
I think mythili will come out and all 3 of them will run back home...Sumer will have to save paro because mythili is watching..if rudra comes to save he will arrest tejawat men...so rudra will reach home get the news but just as he is about yo leave paro Sumer will reach home..
And we will get a parud clash where rudra will scold paro gor putting her life in danger and paro will call rudra heartless.,, status quo maintained
