His reaction to Paro when she is going to put haldi is purely on the level of a military man. His expressions do change once he realizes it is Paro but that could be because of his thoughts being somewhere else. Well, for me Rudra is not YET on the path of LOVE at all!! He is becoming more HUMAN first!!! LOVE will pop in due course later. Much later.

I know what you mean, Mozart. It's an instinct honed in these trained fighters - a survival skill. The interesting bit for me is what happens when realisation dawns that it's not an enemy trying to kill him but Paro, who is now in this compromising position under him on his bed. And what that does to his mind and, ahem*, body...😳😃. Hmmm Rudra and love...I think he's already on that path, but ...it's complicated.😆

I hated and loved this episode. I hated it because it was everything ekta shows are famous for, interfering heroine, and a vile poison spitting character. But taking away all that I was more interested in Rudra expressions. He cares if you see how his expressions softened when dragon woman tore the pictures he was sad for Maithilli and during the whole gut wrenching dhamaka his expressions changed from disgust at such ugly soul crushing dialogues, sympathy for a woman/mother pleading to be understood, warning at Paro, fury at her give away too much info about herself, understanding and I also felt he was slightly proud at Paro reasoning she was connecting with him and he understood her points.

Being involved in family drama for a man not used to people is not Rudra's thing. You can clearly understand why he doesn't believe in concept of family other than his own dad he includes no one in his inner circle. Imagine living under someone like Mohini he must be thinking good riddance I am glad to be on my own if family means being tortured like this, his life was spared. He might have been lonely but atleast he had freedom to do his own thing, make his own choices right or wrong, he is a self made man who is sure of himself unlike samrat and sumer. His dad might not have raised him with a lot of love, but making him fend for himself has made Rudra tough, a man of convictions so in the end his dad really did him a favour. If his mom stuck around he would not be the man he is today, he might have grown up spoiled and molly coddled, so hopefully someday when he is made peace with his life he can look back and be glad that he was given the opportunity to make something out of his life away from this suffocating haveli. All Rudra needs is someone like Paro who can love him unconditionally and call as family as for rest of the rat pack he is better off without them.

I am totally in Rudra corner on this one, he did feel genuine sympathy for Maithilli cause, but he knows how vile his aunt is and Paro actions has put her in the firing squad of poison ivy. His priority is Paro and Paro only protecting her and winning the case not to take up social causes. The way Paro acted is not her at all totally out of character, but even if they justify her stance I only see suffering for Rudra in this because the slap is the tip of the iceberg of hurt Rudra will have to endure on her behalf. By taking up Maithilli cause Paro is going to hurt the one person that will walk through fire for her and he doesn't deserve what is coming to him via dragon lady. This is the hallmark of all ekta shows heroine taking up causes messing them up and in the end it is the poor heroes who suffer and clean up their mess. Poor Rudra is going to be sick with worry for Paro from now on because if he knows his aunt she is going to take the fight to his doorstep and it is going to rain bullets on him. My heart broke for poor Maithlli but if Paro did not speak and she listened to Rudra then maybe the elder men could have walked away from this diffused the current bomb and thought of some plan. But the more paro spoke the more she worsened Maithlli cause because dragon lady hates her by extension of Rudra and she was adding oil to fire. Dilsher is right Paro was the biggest fool today and now everyone is going to pay the price for her folly. Dragon lady is on the war path she is going to feed Paro to the vultures and Paro has no one to blame but herself.

With the current spoiler that Rudra will be suspended from BSD, hell hath no fury like an officer scorned. This is a good twist, time to blow open this case and Paro needs some reality checks. I hope that Rudra and Paro go on a secret mission to sadak paar to retrieve nandini, this way we are away from this god forsaken haveli, and we can get back the old charm when the story was about guns, exploitation of women, fighting for your country and some cool action. I know haveli characters are important but it is getting too exhausting listening to taunts all the time. Once Rudra is suspended he can't keep Paro with himself legally, he will have to set her free but we all know he is too attached to her no matter how angry he is with her to ever risk her life. But what if he makes a deal with her not as his prisoner, she can go willingly with him to see her sister, I am sure she would agree to that, Paro is shown to have some common sense she will want to know what really happened to her sister. I hope the three musketeers including Aman go on a disguise for a covert operation that would be a far more interesting track than to see Rudra sulking away in the haveli giving up is so not him he is a fighter, Paro fighting Mohini with words is not her either, let the family fight their own battles, let Paro and Rudra team up and fight for their cause.

Thank you for your detailed comment and analysis. 😊
You make some interesting points.
@Love and hate: I haven't watched Ekta serials so am not qualified to comment on this episode's resemblance to them. But yes, there were parts of it that I disliked and parts that delighted me. Rudra's expressions were delightful, but the rest of the audience's expressions were also interesting and added something to the episode.
@Self-made man: Definitely, not only is Rudra a self-made man, he's also a man's man, and not a tame one at that. And all this marriage/children talk doesn't sit well with him. Rudra's upbringing has helped him chart his life on his own terms. I wouldn't say that his father didn't love him - it's tough/undemonstrative/eccentric love, but still love nevertheless - but yes it was different from a mother's love, which may have made him less rigid/harsh/wild, Also serving in the military has honed his decisiveness. Which is why, there's no way somebody like Kakisa could order him around. Only Rudra knows (And we can guess) how Paro makes him do what she wants. 😆
@In Rudra's corner: I too find it easier to see this from Rudra's eyes. Paro has, as you say, brought Kakisa breathing fire on to her own doorstep. And Rudra's job in protecting Paro will become that much more difficult now.
@ Paro harmed Mythili's cause: Maybe in the short term where nobody may want to touch that topic. But in the longer term - well the secret's out. Everybody will be debating (in their minds) the pros and cons. Sides will be taken (Danveer, Sunehri for; Sumer, Kakisa against) around the issue. Each will try and see subsequent developments through their new bias.
@Turn PaRud out into the desert: Okay I didn't mean it quite like that. 😆 But yes, I get what you mean, and am suffering from claustrophobia too inside that haveli. I was just thinking the other night how amazing it would be to see PaRud hiding from/tracking the Thakur's men in the desert dunes by the light of a moon. Pleeease CVs bring back the wide open spaces... Let it be Operation Nandini by all means.

TVbug2011,

I watched the episode only today. I somehow do not think Paro broke free of Rudra. Rather if you observe it closely it looked like he let go of her at that instant. Any thoughts on this ?

Hello JJKKl,
Now that I've rewatched the scene, the sequence of lines was that Mythili asks Kakisa to consider the matter; that lots of people are lacking in this way; that they too can be fulfilled; that Parvati baisa is example; Rudra's grip crushes Paro's forearm; eyes shocked and angry; (Kakisa loses argument;) tells Samrat to wear bangles; Tells him his wife has him wrapped around her finger; says "...Kyon is laagan ko mhare ghar mein bhej diya aapne;" M starts to cry; Rudra looks fierce; "kaunsi woh murdon ki ghadi thi jab main is manhoos ko mhare betey ke liye laayi thi..,;" Paro breaks/is allowed to break free.
Two possible explanations:
#1 If you read Rudra's fierce expression when Kakisa starts abusing M as anger at Kakisa, then can extrapolate that Rudra won't stand to see Mythili/any woman he's supposed to be protecting (includes s-I-l) abused in this way. And that he lets Paro go to defend her. (What is the meaning of Laagan, btw? My Rajasthani is not good at all, I'm afraid, and that seems to be the key abuse here/maybe the turning point).
#2 a. If you read Rudra's fierce expression as his continuing discontent with Paro deepened by Kakisa's vile behaviour, then on the 'murda.' line it's being distracted by Kakisa that allows Rudra's grip to slacken inadvertently, letting Paro break free.
#2 b. Or that Ashish the actor had to deliberately slacken his grip to allow Sanaya to pull free, and inadvertently (because of our very sharp eyes) we see the slight grey area between let go-and-break free.
Either way, it's not definitive. I think a lot will become clearer tonight. From the BTS, we know that Rudra bawls out Paro for her interference. So, he likely won't be taking the responsibility for letting her go.
Hope this answers your question. I'm running a little low on sleep so a quick explanation just now. 😊
