Adrija Roy EXCITED about her first Holi with fiance Vigunesh: ‘Extra special’

As Holi approaches, Anupamaa actress Adrija Roy shares why this year’s celebration holds a special place in her heart. Anupamaa star Adrija says the festival is much more than just colors and celebration for her.

“For me, Holi is not just about colors and fun,” she says warmly. “It symbolizes new beginnings, forgiveness, and positivity. It reminds us to let go of past negativity and start fresh with love and happiness.”

For Adrija, Holi has always been an emotional festival rooted in family values and meaningful traditions. However, this year the celebration carries deeper personal significance.

“This year, however, the festival carries deeper emotional value for her. “It’s my first Holi with my fiancé, so it truly feels like a new chapter in my life,” she adds. “That makes it incredibly special and close to my heart.”

A Celebration Of Love, Family And New Beginnings

Talking about how she celebrates the festival, Adrija shares that she enjoys maintaining a balance between tradition and fun. “I love starting the day with traditional rituals — applying gulal, taking blessings from elders, and enjoying homemade sweets,” she says. “Later, of course, it becomes more playful with music and dancing. But for me, the emotional and family aspect will always be the most important.”

She further adds, “If I am shooting that day, I will definitely try to take a half day to celebrate with my fiancé and his family. And if I’m not shooting, then I’m going to spend the whole day with my family, friends, and Vignuesh’s family.”

Her words reflect how important it is for her to include both families in the celebration, especially during such a meaningful phase in her life.

Speaking about Holika Dahan, she says, “It represents the victory of good over evil. I always feel it’s a powerful moment where we pray and mentally burn away all negativity.”

For Adrija, the spiritual meaning behind the rituals remains central to the festival. She believes that Holi is a time to cleanse the mind and heart and to move forward with hope and positivity.

She also prefers celebrating in an eco-friendly way. “I prefer celebrating with dry, organic gulal. It’s safer for the skin and better for the environment,” she explains.

Her approach reflects both responsibility and care for others. “Holi is about spreading happiness, not discomfort,” she concludes. “If we celebrate responsibly and with love, the festival becomes even more beautiful.”
