I've noticed that we have a good number of fabulous writers on this forum.

Whether it's unique takes on the episode ( Shout out to eveline, tvbug2011, MoronsKiMallika, i love reading your posts😃), or the hilarious "reading between the lines" posts ( SJ sa, khamba ghani, we haven't interacted, please accept my humble salutations😆), well written posts are always a pleasure to read.

To the fanfiction writers: You guys do a wonderful job⭐️. Weaving words out of imagination is a tough job and you have all my respect for taking the time and patience to bring your work to life

To the silent readers and budding writes: Hello guys! Can you be tempted to put pen to paper? You never know what masterpiece you can create

To anyone of the above who is reading this, i have a proposition to make.

What do you guys think of Writing challenges? They can come in all forms.

One word challenges where the author has to incorporate the "challenge word" into the fic, like say, waiting, borrow, etc.

Prompts where anyone can suggest a scene or plot that they wish to see in an OS. The writers can see what tickles their imagination and run with it.

I find that writing challenges are a nice way to get creative and jump start the writing process, especially when faced with writers block. Maybe even tempt the non fiction writers to give us some of their fabulous work? 😊

I haven't fleshed this idea out completely. I thought we could see how many people are interested and then go from there.

Thoughts? Opinions?

PS: I am in no way trying to belittle any of the writers on this forum, the writers i mentioned above are just some of the names that popped into my head. I've been on this forum 2 weeks tops, My apologies to anyone who feels i was out of line

Lovely post, Niyoti, and thanks for the mention.😊 It's always great to meet someone with an appreciation for the written word.

Some brilliant ideas for creative writing in your post. I find picking topics a great way to nudge the creative process. Your idea of a creative-writing thread (is that what you are suggesting?) sounds just the right thing for weekends when we are all bemoaning the lack of RR stimulus. So, you might be onto something there.

Perhaps a go at flash-fiction - 150 words max! (always a challenge for me) 😆

@Bold 1 : Yes yes exactly😊. I thought we could have a thread with prompts and then the authors could post in the forum with titles like " for the WC prompt" or something along those lines.

@Bold 2: Flash fiction is a wonderful idea. I recall reading "terribly tiny tales" on facebook. Wonderful work on that page.

I had heard that love makes life difficult...complicates matters..u guys just proved it!!😆

On a serious note...I probably come at the last rung of this ladder (and I m not being humble..the writers you have mentioned, and some you have not, are truly gifted) Thanks a ton for your love and appreciation!! It's mind blowing (I feel like am @ the Oscars or something 😆) And always love to take up challenges (whether I am up to them or not is a different story😃)

I loved the idea as it will give us an opportunity to have fun with some awesome writers..what a treat to read!!

P.S...I have never tried my hand at fiction...too much of a realist for that 😆

@Bold: You deserve it😊😆. It's always a pleasure interacting with new people. I guess i'm a little big on the "If you appreciate someone say it" thing 😛. Plus I'm a closet romantic... You know when the realist decides to take a coffee break or a nap😆.. Ergo i like reading your posts ( And also dabble in fanfic😃)

We don't necessarily need a word limit. The word limit can be another writing challenge in on it's self 😃
