Why would it be cliche if varun is shown to be the bad guy?

Well any1 who has read my musings on this might know that I have a firm belief that he is the best thing that happened in innocent Paro's life.. the unbounded joy her Shiv ji gave to her for a single day...

you know they can easily take the commonly followed path of making Varun evil.. and justify Rudra killing him and saving paro..
But what that would do is make this extraordinarily beautiful story a cliched random run of the mill story..

Because the beauty of Paro & Rudra's love doesn't lie in him being correct.. and him being a proverbial savior...
It lies in him costing her everything, and yet how she comes to love him irrespective of all he had cost her.. all he has taken from her...
It lies in how he rips her of everything and once he starts loving this innocent girl whose heart is more beautiful than her angelic face and how he manages to earn her forgiveness.. and her love..

This story is so unbelievably beautiful at this moment.. because their love will be pitted against every hardship.. and this past moment will always lie b/w them..
For her Varun, her dead husband is always going to be her first love.. she will always feel the loss of the first man who stirred her heart.. the man who made a place for himself in her gentle heart.. the first man she dreamed a future together with.. her first love..

And this story will be her journey towards forgiving the person who took everything from her.. and allowing Rudra to make his own special place in her heart.. not take Varun's place.. but make his own place...
Their story is going to be about a deeper and more profound love that is based on a painful past.. entrenched in blood, yet surviving as they forgive and love each other inspite of all of it..

And this extraordinary story will turn out to be a run of the mill useless story as far as I am concerned if this beautiful premise is taken away from it..
And i will be one very disappointed viewer if this happens...

Hi,
Yes earlier, means till day before, I was thinking that Varun will not be innocent. But after giving a second thought I now believe Varun to be an innocent man And Rudra's mom to have really abandoned them. Because only then it would be more difficult for both of these to love and more importantly trust each other. So yes make sense ...I agree.

Great post Sunara 👏

These are exactly my thoughts. The story would turn out to be a complete cliche if Varun is shown to be a bad guy or if he comes back from the dead.

Varun being a good guy just makes the story so much more poignant. Rudra never meant to kill an innocent...maybe he wasn't even intending to shoot Varun and he aimed his gun at someone else...and the bullet accidentally hit Varun. Or maybe it wasn't the bullet from Rudra's gun that killed Varun at all.

The person who is truly responsible for the death of innocents is Thakur...Varun just became an unfortunate victim...just like Paro's parents and Bindi. All these deaths are the outcome of Thukur's evil and unlawful deeds.

Varun is Paro's first love...or maybe crush. The incidents that follow her wedding will rob off her innocence and expose her to the harsh realities of life. If it turns out that the first man she had given her heart to was a criminal...her innocence would be robbed off all over again.

Let Paro and Rudra overcome this hurdle...let this be her journey of forgiving Rudra and falling in love with him.

Good reasoning! I, from the beginning thought that Varun might be negative coz he was too sweet. But after reading this post and a couple of others, I completely understand that if Varun is indeed shown as a positive character it won't be the regular stuff that we usually see on tv! Paro will always remember her husband and it would be interesting to see how in spite of having every reason to hate him,she ends up falling for him!
Yes, I want Varun to be a just a scapegoat n I hope they don't end up showing the cliche stuff!

Love what you have written Sunara and this is exactly what I am hoping and expecting from this story. The creatives have taken a risk to tell this edgy story and they should go with their conviction rather then fall for TRP or cliche pressures. I really hope they do not cope out. Waiting to see if the writers bring more clarity to Varun's intentions soon, though to me he looks like another orphan used for the illegal deal.

I really love what you have written but I honestly still hope that Varun was indeed bad if it is Rudra's bullet that purposefully hits him because I think it is much easier portrayed than done to actually fall in love with your husband's murderer, especially if your husband was innocent. If it was an accident and like you said, a result of the chaos that day then it wouldn't matter if he was innocent or not.

Very well said, Sunara ... I agree that making Varun the usual bad guy will make the show more run of the mill. We've always seen the hero have past relationships, and the heroine is always pure, her first love is only the hero and no one else ... here Paro liked her groom - love is too strong a word, I think ... was ready to marry him, and was happy about it, and it will take her a long time to get over his death.

U ... Varun being an orphan, and therefore being used as an innocent pawn in the smuggling racket, the same way that Paro is being used ... that makes much more sense to me. All through his scenes, he has looked innocent and as bashful as Paro ... his confession about also being an orphan and wanting his own family was touching ... no wonder it won Paro's heart ... I felt as bad for him at that moment as she probably did.

To me, yes. It would definitely be cliched if Varun later turns out bad or better, is found living. The show has been really close to reality till now and I'd like to see it that way. Because in real, it's often the unsuspecting, gullible people who face the mishap. There must be so many innocent people in the baraat, who'll get killed by BSD. That is how it happens, in real.
