Hi,everyone.
I am looking at some people calling out SI's age as if it's a sin to become 30 & still be a leading actress of a daily soap...
I have always felt that In our society ,we treat women unfairly.
The same rules which are applicable to women/actresses aren't applied to men.
I mean the funniest part is the people who are concerned about an actress's age are women themselves...😲
So when an actress is working with little younger actor it makes some people wonder is it ok?
Or if an actress looks younger than actual age,she is targeted...
If Amitabh bachhan/aamir/SRK/Sallu are working with generations of actresses no body questions why,how where ,when...
Absolutely not...
but when Madhuri dixit works with an actor younger than her...touba...touba...the hell breaks loose for them...
Sad & unfortunate part is...most of such comments are done by women themselves...
why is so?
Why an actress's age is issue if she is 30??????
If producers are happy ,confident to put money on her abilities...why are we as a society targetting a woman ,mocking her because she is 30??
Shouldn't talent matter?shouldn't professionalism,work ethic matter???????
I mean we can agree/disagree about how talented she is,how professional she is...how good an actress she is...but age ...come on people...
Why are we so tolerant of older men romancing young women half their r age...
But the moment we see an actress working with a younger costar ,it bothers us...
Why is it so important to mock an actress's age .
Why in our country our mentality is to mock an actress for her age?
women who are barely in 30's are mocked as "aunty"...
I don't understand why women are treating women so differently??????
Aren't these "teenagers"or girls in 20's going to grow up & become so called aunties ???
Rather than celebrating womanhood we target successful actresses for their age...
I mean I am so proud of women who are ruling the industry ,writing their own rules...
It was madhuri/sridevi who wrote rules in 90's...
In industry dominated by men they showed they are powerhouses to give hits even with people like sanjay kapoor...
Same is true with sanz/DD ...I am sanz fan but I am so proud that these two actresses along with sakshi have changed rules...
Shows are sold by their popularity...Production houses are eager to cast them as leading ladies even with younger male stars...so why is the age of an actress such a big issue for some???
So my question is why so????????????
Are we a sexist society??????

Answer is simple...jealous females !!!!!

People are worried about violence in Rangrasiya and not being able to watch with family, but many watch the "Nayi Soch" shows that week after week with no end in sight...show women that are manipulative, backstabbing, controlling, hateful, plot and plan to bring other women down...what do you expect.

My opinion...my thoughts.

Yes it is true some people just trend to bash & insult a celebrity any chance they get. I been in the BW forum and was disgusted when Deepika was called "Ugly" And a villager just because she's a busty beauty.

Sanaya has been going through a similar case of being mocked for her age people call her old just because she's 30. These type of people are the ones ruining our society and making women feel old as they reach 30's!

Anushka undergo plastic surgery she went online and read insulting comments people were saying she's "Ugly" And look at her today! It didn't do her any good she totally ruined her natural Beauty.

Sanaya on the other hand doesn't care nor find time to read what people are saying about her. She leads her life in a jolly way. She is blessed with good genres her hardwork is truly paying off, Rangrasiya is on it's way on becoming a blockbuster which means another hit added to Sanaya career graph. 👏

beautifully put giving generations of beautiful actresses!!!👏

anyway its no wonder, women r women's worst enemies.. proven time and again... i love all 3 examples u quoted from TV industry specially San n DD r personal favs.
Beautiful, successful women, talented and knowing their value.. n the industry knows it too!

Anyway its amazing that when
1/ talent
2/ need for a 'specific' ML to succeed

nothing works here we take a go at the age! nice!

In any case let's just say that, the person who found this girl in these snaps 'older looking'... umm... need i say even a word regarding this?

Beauty i do believe lies in the eyes of the beholder.. but even then... just look at the snaps.. that is all i wanna say...

Anyway she has always been paired successfully with actors an year or 2 younger than her for a reason. She looks way too young than her actual age! Her Iranian ancestry and the genes she carries r blessed! she is truly a beauty that seems to be aging in reverse! And thus such pairings usually work best for her as the age difference becomes more realistic to the eyes.. as some1 much older than her would make the on screen pair to seem to have a very big age difference..

this is why it comes down to sexism as in SI's case the said query was NOT out of fact.. but due to a girl being the one who is 11 months older than her co actor.

Now let's take the other side of the coin.

Aamir Khan played a college kid in 3 Idiots (an all time fav movie of my fav bw actor) n no1 had an issue. When SRK played a college kid and played basketball in KKHH no1 had any issues.. nah..
When he was opposite DP who is so much younger no1 has issues.. when Aamir is opposite Asin who is so much younger again no1 has any issues...

I am only dragging examples of my fav movies and fav actors ONLY so that this is not abt liking some1 or pairs or anything and remains on sexism that this topic is truly about...

So well I would just like to ignore it dear... appreciate ur effort n thus shared my two cents too... but talking to such people is like hitting ur head on a brick wall..
cz we live in a patriarchal society that has made men n women all consider women as objects n thus in entertainment industry only actresses have a shelf life. while actors have nothing of that sort...

I know...saas bahu dramas make me feel bad for women in general...
I used to watch kutumb 1 when I was in INDIA...
But after I saw one episode of "KYunki..."i left Indian shows for a decade almost...
Then while I was googling about Indian shows,I found si's previous shows...
I really feel saas bahu dramas paint Indian women in abad way...
Either they are tulsis or they are mandira bedi's character...women are much more than that...aren't we??????

Of course we are!

Not being Indian and not living in India I can only make a comment on what I have observed.
Since I have become aware of the Indian actor, Sanaya, there has always been one or the other trying to discredit her. And yes, usually these are 'females.' That her acting prowess is phenomenal, is a moot discussion, even if others don't agree, the head honchos in charge, those who make the decisions, those whose decisions matter, know this and thus, that is why they make amendments and go all out to ensure that Sanaya is in their show. They will do all it takes to ensure this. Case in point, this show, Rangrasiya, that the makers waited for more than 6 months for Sanaya.
These people are not stupid. They did not become successful by blindly approaching someone and asking them to partake in their productions. These are carefully based BUSINESS decisions. These people are successful business people. And all their decisions are made keeping the success of their business in mind.

For the others, it would be too easy to say that they are jealous or feel threatened or feel something negative towards Sanaya (although it beats me why, I mean OK if one is not a fan of a certain celeb, but why the mentality of hate? Or bashing? And a POV is not bashing, but a POV in disguise of demeaning the celeb is!) to even discuss this, in specific, here, her age or her wardrobe, barring anything else that they are unable to pounce upon. Because after all, if the powers that be, the experienced, knowledgeable, people in charge have decreed that Sanaya has all and more than it takes to play this role, then what else can a layman to add to that?

For some of us, talent is more important than age or looks (of course we can phangurl about it in jest, and eye candy is great, but at the end of the day, talent is what counts in an industry such as this where one does not have dad or uncle or boyfriend to fall back on. And talent is what one relies on.) I don't know any of the people you have mentioned, but I will concede that this is an industry that is rife with nepotism, the rules of which are set by men, but which are, definitely supported by women. Because if they were not, then these rules would cease to exist.

Your question that begs to be answered is why? Why do some women feel it is all right to demean other women? I have no answer to that. But suffice it to say, that education and awareness may yet change the tide!

Beautiful post.

Yes, we are most definitely are and the saddest part is, it's women who mock women, women try to bring down women. Sanaya is a beautiful, successful and talented woman and has reached the position she is in with her hard work, dedication and talent.

As I said in another post, she is 30 and doesn't hide it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being 30 and looking that age, but she doesn't look her age, she looks way younger than that. She keeps getting cast for characters in their early 20s because she looks the part, otherwise why would they cast her, why not another actress? If the makers of her shows are confident she can pull it off, why do some people complain? Because when they have nothing else to criticize about, they bring up her age to bring her down.

It's not just teenagers or woman in their early 20s, I have seen women probably as old as Sanaya or maybe older, with careers make such comments about her. So that gives an impression about the mindset of many people. Not everyone has to be a fan and healthy criticism is always welcome but her age has been an issue for some for a while now. Rather than appreciating a successful woman, they try to demean her by bringing up her age, indicating she is too old to be cast as a lead or make an issue out of her working with younger co-stars.

After she has turned 30, time and again we have heard, she looks 30. Is turning 30 a crime? Not only is it an attempt to demean Sanaya, it is just so disrespectful towards women in general and women making such statements is just so sad.

As a fan, it doesn't matter to me how old she is or how old she looks. I am her fan because of her talent and I am proud of her for accomplishing so much. Of course, I admire her for beauty too...but I am still going to love her when she 50 and still going to find her beautiful, because beauty isn't bound by age and talent most certainly isn't.

I really appreciate your effort of making this post, but I would just say that as annoying as those comments are, it really doesn't matter what these people say. In a world full of male dominance, women still go out there and make a difference. Actresses like Madhuri/Sridevi rule BW for years and make successful comebacks...actresses like Sanz, DD and Sakshi are cast as leads and rule the telly industry. Sanaya is loved by the industry and fans. These comments really doesn't change anything so it's just best ignore.

As for women who have such sexist mindset...Hopefully, one day this thinking will change.
