Brilliant post. I am happy that you thought of posting it in a separate thread.
So far as the violence is concerned, its nothing new to the Indian audience. The only difference is, violence or action in such larger scale was never shown in any tv drama. Now is that a bad thing to introduce something new? And if something new is brought in with perfect execution which gives the audience a 'movie in theatre' experience, why it would be criticized. The makers should rather be encouraged. Moreover and the most importantly, the story of rudra and paro demands such scenes. I mean, all that Rudra is doing is preparing the audience with something more scary in respect of his journey with Paro. Plus it would be worth following the transformation of his character or unfolding of Paro's character and life in line with Rudra's avatar.I find the matter similar to Ghajini.. It was true that it showed too much violence and actions, but then if you put it with the pain and loss that the ML suffered, the violence would not look unbearable anymore..In RR too, compared to Rudra's inner torture and suffering, these are really nothing. If you want to understand the character, you would be able to find the reasons behind his behavior. And the audience in India should be that matured by this time to relate the actions of a lead with his character graph.

Very nicely written! Personally I don't watch action movies...just can't stand them. But never once did I feel that whatever action was shown was OTT or unnecessary. All these things are necessary for the viewers to understand who and how Rudra is! He's ruthless...full of hatred...he's posted on the border 247!
The show gives me a movie like feel and that's a huge achievement for the makers!
