(Fate unfolds, O precious one...)
Praeparari, hic venit!!
(Be prepared, for here he comes!!)
You never know what awaits at the next turn of the road. You never know who'll stay to take in your life and who'll move away without a good bye! The complex criss-cross that runs form everywhere to everywhere is what makes life. To begins with from among the hordes of young women only Parvati was chosen interestingly by Nag Deva himself!! Mythology has it that Basukii or Nag Deva is the only garland that adores Lord Shiva and is equally doted upon by Lordess Parvati. Paro was chosen for what looks like a simple play of fate but deep down, she herself is having a hesitant look at the other side of the ring! While the true facets of her future lay hidden somewhere she already is anticipating! If you go by the entire scene, her expression remains petrified as if she has had a premonition somewhere and is all the while waiting for her sleepy dreams to awaken!
Thakuraiin Masa maybe has known this girl for long and knows what she's made of! Therefore she predicts that her husband should be the one who is 'the gentle', the one who is a 'preserver' and the one who is 'who holds the cosmic smile'. If I take you back in the mythology, then this particular scene comes as a modern rendition form the Sati era! Back in times when Adi Shakti was born to Daksh and had taken her first form of Sati, she was made to agree to a nuptial with a Lord Vishnu like groom, all gentle and suave. But the tale has it that it was Shiva who married her much to Daksh's dismay. If looks are anything to go by, then I must say the Parvati is being prepared for a marriage that doesn't hold her heart or soul. But being a dutiful daughter that she is, she doesn't show her disapproval! Well done CV's, this is another masterstroke from you!
What particularly excited me was the tenderness that Paro shows. She stands true to her name, silent, observant and resplendent. She is the gentleness of her volatile, volcanic mate. Sanaya's portrayal is perfect. While I would wish her accent is a bit more refined, its her acting that enjoy more. The subtle hint of vulnerability that she shakes immediately connects to her inner turmoil and constant fight of letting go. Sanaya, I must say this could be the pinnacle of all your performances. But sweetheart do get your accent corrected. At times it comes across as too urban!
And now comes the 'roarer' to the fore. A lot has been already said about him in his absentia. It only today that we get to see who he truly is! He traverses the barren land, he lets the heat get to his head and lets his anger get the better of him. He is everything that you's associate with the cosmos of destruction. He is volatile, impulsive, cruel, volcanic, usurping, merciless and sans any tenderness of the heart. He isn't submissive and you can't make him bow down. The moment Rudra got the news of his men being killed he didn't wait. He went ahead with his black fury and engulfed all the perpetrators. Interestingly when Lord Rudra walks he for once turns back to look at the destruction he causes, he never blinks and never loses a fight. Rudra too draws the cosmina of this wilderness master. He never turned back to look at what he'd done. He never blinked and even when he was faced with odds he didn't lose the fight! What was even more interesting was him throwing water to calm his aching head. Lord Rudra is bathed with water from Ganges so that He calms! Creatives I don't think you'll cease to surprise me!!
Aashish embodies that mad rage so perfectly. He has something about his eyes that can channel anger in a manner that deems fit. And boy oh boy! What a fantastic action sequence. Everything was just so quick, clean and precise. Perfect timing and loads gut wrenching punches made it a dhamakedar welcoming of new year!! And when he threw streams of water over himself my heart went swoon and thud!!! Magnifico!!
And before I wrap up I have to make mention of Thakur Tejawar!! He is one twisted entity. One facet of his is the protector and the other the merciless destroyer! He ignites the entire masses so brilliantly that even if you'll hate him, you'll have to give due credit to his diabolical mind! Yes he lost over his family's maximum riches in the partition gore but he has not let the flame turn to ember. The colossal loses that the village faces every year is very cleverly credited to BSD by him. He is one magician of words, he is evil and wrong but he does carry his evilness in the guise of
goodness. Kambakhat itna neeche girna bhi ek hunar hota hai!! I am loving Tarun. Tejawar needs to be coldly cold and Tarun is a perfect choice.
And so life will now come to a full circle, with Rudra returning to Beerpur. A lot of firework seems to be in waiting!!
P.S. I loved that particular scene of Rudra with our country's proud flag waving over his head!! It surely gave me goosebumps! That prestige rarely comes a civilian way!!
