She sat in the huge balcony adjacent to the living, on the swing sketching. The weather was pleasant. Jamuna was back, fixing her favorite bhindi. The traffic on the street below was picking up, people leaving for Friday nite parties, weddings etc. The Punjabi and Baniya wedding season had begun. Even the otherwise quiet reclusive posh community of Vasant Vihar was chirpy and busy
She could actually see acticity in the homes across the street. Many bungalows were diplomatic residences. Cars with "CD" license plates slid in and out of marbled drive ways
Many carried a small flag on the hood.
Delhi police frequently did rounds in the neighborhood, a far cry from the areas near Munirka gaon
She wore her fave mustard skirt and a green sleeveless blouse, her hair was untied. There was a huge box of pencils and sharpeners that lay on her side on the swing
Her second cup of chai sent invting elaichi flavored steam her way. A bowl truffles and some gourmet Brazilian chips were set on a tray
She sipped her chai and pressed her heel on the floor, giving the swing a boost. She returned home early hoping to find him but he hadnt returned. She tried not to be sad, she knew he would not miss a meeting or give up work for being with her
Their separation was testimony to it

It was his hands wrapped around the camera, his fingers long tapering, nails well groomed, the thumb wrapped comfortably around the lens in a possessive grip...
She was secretly doing a series on his hands
This was the 4th...
The Swatch strap on the wrist was crooked, she carefully erased a section and re-penciled it...
