if u r more regular ppl too wont get bummed waiting for the update afiya..
n by now u must have known abt many of our readers..
even when u update regularly many wont comment..but now u r taking much time gap so they must also be lazy..
however there r few of us who press like n comment when u take a long time to update..
so think of those ppl n continue writing..many of us still wait for ur update..

Maybe the readers are not able to comment due to other commitments or are not even able to login to read your update! 'Like' they surely do! But you know the problem... Sometimes, the 'like' button doesn't work and even we get frustrated because of that!

Part 19-

She looked out the window and thought if she should go upstairs to him. After pondering for a while she made a second cup of coffee and walked up the stairs to his room. She stood outside his door, and didn't know whether she should knock, or just go in, until she heard a deep voice mumble something.

"... Ma, jee main theek hoon, aap kaisay ho?"

Khanak tipped the door open slightly and saw Shaan sitting on his bed talking softly on the phone.

"... Haan who bhi saab theek hai, Ma uhhh...Shobha Aunty kaise hain? Mujhe unke saath kuch baath thi..."

Khanak bit her lip, maybe right now wasn't a good time to talk to him. She decided to leave not watching her step, and her ankle banged against the side table in the hallway.

Shit, oww! She complained and her ankle throbbed in pain.

Shaan was writing down the number as he heard Khanak's wail outside. " Uhh, Ma main tumse baad mein baath karoongi!" he said as she went outside to see what happened.

Khanak?... Khanak kya hua?! He said rushing to her side.

Uhh.. ouch who kuch nahi, I just hit my ankle... she replied.

Ohh, well here come inside, he said as he ushered her into his room.

Khanak sat down on Shaan's bed while Shaan sat across from her. She rubbed her ankle while Shaan stared at her ankle cautiously.

Uhh.. so how are you? He asked her smiling slightly.

Huh? Oh yeahh.. uhh good... I umm came to see if you were alright and I umm brought coffee, she said smiling at the direction Shaan put the mug after they came in the room.

Ohh, *he smiled* I'm fine Khanak, I... I'm better now, he said. He got up and went to get the mugs from the table, and handed one of them to Khanak.

They both went to get a sip from their drinks, when both of them made a face of disgust.

Uuugh, thand hogayee, Shaan said, while Khanak laughed quietly.

*Shaan laughed and looked at Khanak intently* Why don't you say we get some breakfast? Or late breakfast and early lunch? He said looking at the clock that ticked 1:45 pm.

Brunch? Khanak asked her eyes lighting up.

Chapelino's cafe? Shaan asked eyeing the small cafe outside of the window of the car.

Umm okay, Khanak said, as they drove toward the cafe.

They both choose a table outside, with the sun shining brightly over them. Shaan ordered an egg sandwich with coffee, while Khanak ordered Belgian waffles with coffee, too.

As soon as their coffee arrived both of them smiled sheepishly.

God, I just love the smell of coffee, Khanak exclaimed, holding the mug close to her face.

I know, it just wakes you up! He replied enjoying her facial expressions over the coffee.

They chatted over their likes and dislikes, each avoiding the topic of what happened last night. Almost halfway through their food, Khanak decided to say something.

Umm, Shaan if you don't mind me asking, ermm who were you talking to this morning? She asked hesitantly.

*Shaan smiled and looked down at his food* My mom, he said. I... I wanted to talk to Natasha's mom, he said softly.

Khanak stared at him intently looking to see if there was a hint of regret or something on his face, but he seemed fine.

I ... I haven't spoken properly to her, after the accident. I couldn't gather the courage to face her, and look her into the eyes and show her my face. He said.

*Khanak put her hand over Shaan's on the table* Did she want to talk to you? She asked.

*Shaan pressed his lips* She did, a lot of times. She always thought of me of her other son, and I thought she would be angry at me, for what happened... but after last night I realized that I...had nothing to do with it. She wasn't angry at me, in fact I should've gone straight to her, and tell her what happened. But I didn't. I didn't see her for 2 years.

It still isn't too late, Khanak said looking into Shaan's eyes. In the past 24 hours she saw so much change in them. From hurt to anger to disappointment to confusion. But now they were calm, restful.

*Shaan put his other hand on top of Khanak's * Thanks... for everything Khanak, he said.

By the time they reached home it was almost 4 o'clock. As soon as they walked in Abeer almost attacked them at the door.

What the hell guys! No phone or anything, at least you could've told any of us where you were going, which by the way where did you go?! He said.

Dude chill, we went out to get breakfast, lunch... whatever it is, Shaan replied.

What? Abeer looked at Khanak questionably.

It was his idea! She replied sitting next to Arohi in the living room.

Whatever, Abeer said as he sat next to Shaan dejectedly while Shaan smiled at him.

The rest of the gang walked in hearing that Shaan and Khanak had come home, and they all seated in the living room.

So guys, aaj ka plan kya hai? Arjun asked looking around at everyone.

The rest of the guys looked confused while the girls were staring at the screen intently.

Arjun stared at Arohi curiously, until he walked up to her and snapped his fingers in front of her face.

Oye! Move it's showing the trailer! Arohi yelled at Arjun looking at the screen, as were all of the other girls.

Everyone looked to see the trailer of This Means War playing on the screen, all the girls were excited to see Chris Pine on screen while Arjun seems fascinated also.

Reese!! Oye Reese Witherspoon, I love her!! He exclaimed while Arohi looked at him disgustedly.

Forget about her, Leher, it's Chris Pine, we had the biggest crush on him in college! Preeti exclaimed excitedly.

Woah, woah woah, back it up, you had a what on who?! Shashank exclaimed kneeling in front of Preeti, while Preeti turned bright red in front of him.

*Khanak laughed* Arrey. Chris Pine, hamare Preeti ki jaan! She exclaimed playfully.

Kya?! Yeh gora? Preeti this guy, I mean THIS guy, whyyy? He asked.

*Preeti bit her lip and smiled* Woh, I don't know I mean he's handsome, And god Shashank just look at him, she replied.

What! No, no look at me Preeti ! I 'm so much better than him! He replied shocked at what Preeti had just.

Oye Nautanki band kar!, Shaan replied at Shashank who stared at the screen hopelessly, and Arjun who couldn't seem to remove his eyes off of Reese Witherspoon.

How about we go watch the film today? Abeer said looking at everyone.

Really, can we? Arohi asked Abeer jumping onto the sofa next to him.

Why not? He replied smiling at everyone who looked at him excitedly.

Shaan, you check the timings, and I'll go see if I can make dinner reservations for us, somewhere, Abeer said pulling out his phone.

Everyone chatted amongst themselves happily, looking forward to the evening ahead.

- Thanks for all of the comments everyone, I hate leaving such a gap after some of the parts, but hopefully I'll make out a time to write more. I really want to watch This Means War so I guess I had to incorporate that, hope you enjoyed it! :)
