The house was awfully quiet when she got out of the shower. She wondered where everybody was, since she was up really late, she decided against making a trip downstairs for breakfast.

She stepped out wearing blue jeans and a green Life is good tee

There was no sign of anybody

Walked downstairs even HL was missing.

Went to Dadi's room, she was reading a book with her ear plugs on.

She looked up to see who it was and gave one of her "For Khanak only" smiles

She sat down in front of Dadi on the bed.

Khanak: Where is everybody?

Dadi: Hi! Beta. Who would you be asking about? (mischief)

Khanak: I mean Aada and Ritu and (after a pause) Sonu

Dadi smiling " Shaan left for work Oh! May be like 10 minute ago?"

Khanak: Hmm, Aada?

Dadi: Aada, Fa aur Sonali lawyer se milne gaye, Sonu didn't want to go but Fa dragged her! (grins)

Khanak: Oh! Kyon?

Dadi: she said you had promised clothes shopping for her today.

Khanak: Oh! Right! (makes a face) I forgot Dadi

Dadi: did you have a good nite?

Khanak: Hmmm

Dadi: Did you tell Shaan about Samar's Mom's phone call?

Khanak: I did, he was thrilled, he said "Hmmm that's why Samar's been avoiding me" (giggles)

Dadi: Some abused women, self employment scheme of some sort''.

HL brings in paranthas, there is butter and dahi and pickle all in the center.

Khanak: OMG! Yummy!

Dadi: just for you!

Khanak: Really?

Dadi: And your family, ofcourse!

Dadi: Tumhara pati to bacon, eggs, suasages khaata hai subah.

Khanak is ashamed.

Khanak: Dadi I want to work a few hours today (hungrily chowing down her parantha)

Dadi: At home I am assuming?

Khanak was surrounded by people that controlled her actions in great detail, a marked change from how she led her life until a month and a half ago.

Dadi pours another half glass out for her

She drinks it all off promptly.

She logs on to a call

There are a handful of people, her team, her husband, Nachiket, Aman, Nivs and a couple of other PMs from the Site

The orange light glows on her Office Communicator

She clicks on it to see its Shantany Gujral

Shaan:Hey!

Khanak: Hi!

Pause

Shaan:Did you get the Net Meeting ID?

Khanak: Not sure, let me check. Nachiket usually shares his OC window?

Shaan: Its not loading for him today.

Khanak: Oh!

She sees a smiley face at that remark

She waits

Her husband sends her an IP

Khanak: Thanks!

Shaan: You are welcome!

They get on the call, it sounds like Japanese to her at first, it takes her a while to understand where the progress is at this time. Nachiket shares video from last's nites feed. Certosa does not look like what it did a month ago.

Its drizzling, she can see the crew wearing bright yellow parkas to match the hard hats. Its hard to hear above the din of the roaring cement mixers

They talked extensively about windows on the first and ground floors, Nachiket switched to a feed from a sunny afternoon and the progress was more visible.

Aman and the PM from the site talked about how having too many windows running along side the living and dining made it appear like a hostel corridor

She was taking note as fast as she was trying to keep up with the conversation.

Nachiket: when do you plan to start coming in Mrs Gujral?

A heart skipsmultiple beats in quick succession "I am hoping I can be there Momday"

Nachiket: That would be great, because of the rains and your sudden absence we seem to have lost more than we gained.

Khanak: I understand that, I plan to sit down with my team later today or tomm, first thing actually and we should have a solid update for you when I come in Monday

Aman: Are you WFH?

Khanak: At this time, yes.

Nachiket: When the rain lets up Rahat is planning to do a tour some time next week, if we make minor aesthetic changes he would love to see it all on CAD when he is here at the Site.

Khanak: Can you confirm his visit to me, I will make sure I have the changes in to you the nite before?

Nachiket goes offline for a second and returns with the time

She marks her calendar furiously.

They talk about more things that are going according to plan, the insides, which are mostly unaffected by the rains. There are huge tarps covering much of the exteriors of all structures.

There is slush everywhere on the ground, on many shots she sees Nachiket and her husband and Aman in serious discussion.

Ram logs in apologizes for being late, and Nachiket gives him a quick update.

Ram asks Khanak if she is comfortable with the new deliverable

She agrees, she talks about a list of things she reviewed earlier in the afternoon. Ram is impressed, Nachiket not so much, he adds more to her plate, Ram and her decide to take it offline.

Its past 6:45 when they are finally done, all of them hang up, her chat window with husband is the last pop up on screen

On an impulse she types " Aap ghar kab aayenge?"

He is stunned for a second, as its totally unlike her to ask anything personal at work, or during work.

Ritu and her are in the kitchen, they are playing FM on HL's radio. HL is peeking from his hideout looking at what the two friends are doing.😆😆

The new bahu is busy chopping dicing and sauteing, Its Tuesday nite "Dinner with Badey Sir nite" HL and his assistant have taken care of the things that contain meat. The new "bhabhiji" had arm twisted Dadi into letting her cook. The two friends were having a ball... Dadi calls for him he leaves reluctantly.

Khanak wore a lavender color chiffon saree, and wore a dark pink apron that said "Is it hot in here? Oh! Wait! Its just me!"

Ritu sitting on the counter making artwork with cucumber shavings and carrot shavings...

Ritu: So what did you guys do last nite?

Khanak:Well we talked about a fallen beam on of the properties, then we discussed function vs aesthetics, and then talked about cost over runs on construction projects...

Ritu picks up a bunch of soggy shaving and places it on her neck

Khanak: RITUUU 😲

Just as the cooker squeals...

Ritu: The TRUTH! Mystery!😉

Khanak: I told him how much Sonu's college is going to cost, and he said I should use MS-Money😲

Ritu actually puts some shavings into her blouse, Khanak squeals and pulls it all out

Khanak: Hmpphhh😭

Ritu: Its called the "truth"

Khanak: Ughhh! We... you know (turning red)

Ritu: Fought? (innocent)

Khanak: Yes, at first...😳

Ritu: Uske baad...

Khanak: We slept😉

Just as Ritu takes a wet clump of peels, and Khanak walks to the sink and fills up a pot with water... "What do you want to know?"

Ritu: The obvious😉

Khanak: We did the obvious!

Ritu: Sighhh! When its MY turn and you ask me I will tell you the hours the minutes the seconds... everything😃 (grouchy)

Khanak: I WONT ask you! 😳(blushing)

Ritu: OK kitne baar?

Khanak: God! You ARE cheeky!😳 (splashing her with some water)

Ritu: 2?

Khanak: Nope!

Ritu: 3? THREEE? (squeals)

Khanak: shhh! (index finger on her lips)

Ritu: HOW?(incredulous)

Khanak: 3^rd time was at 10 in the morning!😳😳 (husky)

Ritu: OMG! Here I am walking thru the muddy icky sidewalks to get to work and YOU are in bed, making love. I think I fully hate you!😭😭

Khanak: Thanks! Me too! You drive me batty😃😳

They both hug!

Shaan: I agree! 😳😳(leaning on the kitchen door frame)
