Khanak stared at the door as it shut behind Rashi. Pressing her hand against her stomach she tried to control the butterflies in the pit of her stomach. Looking around she took in the dimmed lights and the lit candles scattered throughout the room. The smell of roses filled the air. Taking a deep breath she walked to the mirror and slowly took the pins out of her duppata. Taking the duppata she gently laid it on the chair next to her. Then she reached for the clasp on her necklace, but her fingers weren't cooperating as she tried to unsuccessfully take off her necklace.

Shaan slowly opened the bedroom door and walked inside, locking it behind him. He stood at the door and looked at Khanak. She stood at the mirror, and watched him through the mirror. Khanak's hands stilled at the back of her neck. Shaan walked to her slowly and reaching her, he put his arms around her from behind, holding her against him. They both now stared at eachother in the mirror. He smiled at her and she returned a tiny smile back. Returning to the task at hand. Shaan watched her struggle and gently pushed her hand out of the way. He gently unclasped the necklace and lifted it from her neck. Then leaning down he kissed her neck. Khanak felt herself tremble. Shaan looked back up at her, smiling. Khanak managed a small smile as she reached for the pins in her hair. Taking her hand he softly kissed her fingers and then placed her hand down by her side.

Then he gently pulled a pin out making sure not to hurt her, and then another, and then another. She watched him as he watched her in the mirror. Finishing one side he lifted her hair off her neck and gently kissed it again, never breaking eye contact with her. Khanak shivered. How did he make something like this so sensual. Returning to the other side he went to work pulling out pin after pin. At one point she tried to help him but again, he just kissed her fingertips and pushed her hand away. Once her hair was free he lifted it up and let it fall through his fingers. Then gathering it in his hands again he slowly kissed along one side of her neck making her arch her neck to give him better access.

"Should I take these off?" he whispered in her ear as he bit her earlobe making her gasp. "These?" she questioned breathlessly. "Your earrings." he said softly trailing more kisses along her neck. "Hmmm.." she said sighing. Shaan pulled a earring off and Khanak could feel his breath against her ear. He skimmed his hand down her arm and then leaned down and kissed the nape of her neck as he moved to the other side and took the other earring off too. Khanak was on fire, just him skimming his fingers along her sensitive skin was driving her crazy. And he hadn't even kissed her yet! Turning her around her caressed her face moving her hair away and then cupping her face, he brought his lips down to hers.

Shaan kissed Khanak softly and as he heard her moan, he deepened the kiss letting her feel how much he wanted her. Khanak lifted her hands from his shoulder and pressed herself closer to him, slipping her hands into his hair. Pulling away Shaan leaned his forehead against Khanak's. Both breathing hard. Smiling he kissed her nose and pulled away.

"Would you like some champagne?" he asked. "Sure." she said taking a deep breath. Turning away from her he popped the cork and poured two glasses. Handing one to her he said " To my amazing wife." Khanak took a sip and smiled back at Shaan. He's so handsome she thought to herself. And tonight was their wedding night. Feeling the anxiety start to return Khanak thought Oh my god tonight was their wedding night. Shaan watched in surprise as Khanak quickly drank back her full glass of champagne. Holding out her glass for more. Shaan looked at her and then the glass. He wanted her relaxed not passed out. Taking her glass he placed it on the table and then pulled her into his arms.

"I love you." he said looking into her eyes. Khanak smiled "I love you too." she said resting her head against his chest. He held her like that for a few minutes, Khanak felt some of her nervousness start to disappear. When Shaan leaned down for another kiss Khanak pulled away. Shaking her head no, she moved back. Shaan smiled as he stalked towards her. She walked backwards, continuing to shake her head. As she turned he grabbed her and pulled her back to him. "Tonight, I won't take anything but yes as an answer." he said softly into her ear. Khanak felt her heart start to race as she leaned against him and he put his hands on her hips. Her back to him she whispered "Shaan, let me go." "No," he said, as he slowly unzipped her kameez. Khanak closed her eyes as a shiver ran down her spine.

Shaan leaned down moving Khanak's hair to one shoulder and slowly traced kisses down her back where the zipper had laid against her skin. Khanak bit her lip to stop her whimpers. Gently Shaan pushed the kameez down one shoulder and kissed her shoulder trailing back up to her the nape of her neck, then right back to her shoulder Khanak gasped as he bit her shoulder gently. She turned around and pressing herself against him pulled his face down to hers and kissed him.

Shaan groaned and pulled her closer yet. Kissing her passionately over and over. Pulling away Khanak looked up at him. Shaan's eyes were smoldering as he pulled her back for another kiss. "Let me freshen up." she said against his lips. He seemed to be reluctant to let her go but finally pulled back and nodded. His eyes dark with passion. Khanak turned away walking to her bag and grabbing something from it, and then turning one last time to smile at Shaan, she walked into the bathroom. Shaan smiled to himself as he unbuttoned his uchkin jacket.

Khanak stared at herself in the mirror. She had changed into a long form fitting black negligee. Tiny straps held it up and it was almost sheer along her stomach and legs. She brushed her hair back and taking a deep breath turned back towards the door, opening it slowly.

Shaan stood pouring them more champagne when he saw Khanak. His mouth fell open. Khanak shly looked at Shaan waiting for him to say or do something. Feeling the champagne start to spill over onto his hand brought him out of his trance. A big smile spread across his face as he put the glass and bottle down. Khanak looked at Shaan and felt her mouth go dry. He had changed too. He wore nothing but his pajama bottoms. His gorgeous chest bare. The butterflies in the pit of her stomach were definitely having a party now.

"Wow." he said as he pulled her against him and placed his lips against hers in a hungry kiss. Khanak kissed him back just as intensely. "You know how to drive a man crazy." he whispered against her mouth as his hands skimmed over her body. Khanak smiled and then groaned as he moved from her lips to her neck and then gently pushing both straps down he slowly pushed the lingerie down until it fell down past her hips and then finalyl pooling on the floor.. Khanak felt herlsef tense. But the look in Shaan's eyes as he pulled away and looked at her made her want to melt. "You're so perfect." he said as he picked her up and carried her to their bed. Placing her onto the bed he followed her down. Kissing her and touching her until she was frantic for more. And as they made love for the very first time Shaan whispered "I love you Khanak Singhania" and Khanak smiled as a tear slid down her cheek. "I love you too." she whispered.

Khanak awoke to the caress of rose petals along her shoulder, down to her arm. "Good morning beautiful." Shaan said softly kissing her shoulder. She lay with her back against his chest and smiled as she thought about the amazing night they had had. "How are you doing?" Shaan asked as he continued to kiss her shoulder making his way now to her neck. "Hmmm." Khanak said melting against him. "That good huh?" he said with a chuckle still kissing her neck. Khanak turned around slowly so that she was now on her back looking up at him. "That good!" she said smiling. Shaan laughed and leaning down gave her a soft kiss which quickly became a hot intense kiss. As he moved to her neck Khanak's eyes fell on the clock. "Oh my god 10:00!" she yelled and then quieter "10:00"! Shaan she said pushing him to get off of her. "Khanak we're newlyweds." he said against her neck. "We're allowed to sleep in." "In fact it's expected that we not leave our bedroom for the first 48 hours. Khanak bit back a laugh. "Shaan stop it," she said as he now moved to her shoulder. "Please Shaan!" She said pouting. "Everyone must be waiting for us." "Let me up." "No!" he said stubbornly., "Shaan!" He stared at her for a few seconds and then moved off her and on to the bed. "I'll let you go now." he said putting his hands behind his head. "But tonight I won't take any excuses." Khanak shook her head at his impatience and got up dragging the sheet with her. "I'm going to take a shower." she said. "I'll join you Shaan." said starting to get up. "NO!" she said backing up. Shaan fell back down on to the bed. "I thought the word no was going to leave our vocabulary now that we're married." Khanak giggled. "Shaan we need to quickly get ready." "Showers together won't be quick." Shaan opened his mouth to say something and Khanak quickly shushed him. Grabbing a gold sari with deep purple thread and bead work and a matching purple blouse Khanak walked into the bathroom.

Khanak walked out of the bathroom. Her hair still wet but her sari tied, no make-up on yet. Shaan with a pink button up shirt and dockers in hand looked up at her as she walked to the armoire, picking up a hair brush to run through her hair. How was it possible that every single day she just got more and more beautiful he thought. Walking to her he gently took her into his arms. "Shaan!" Khanak warned thinking he was up to no good. Shaan just looked down at her intently. "I'm a very lucky guy." he said in a serious tone. Khanak stared up at him questioningly. "I will always try my best to keep you happy Khanak." Khanak felt her eyes fill with tears. She put her arms around his neck and pulled him close. "I'm the lucky one." she said softly. "Even in my dreams, I couldn't have imagined I'd find a love like this." Shaan hugged her close. Then pulling away in the usual laid back Shaan style he said "yeah you're right, you are pretty lucky." Khanak hit him on the arm. "I give you an inch and you take a mile." she said. "Now hurry up and go get ready she said pushing him to the door. "You've got the bossy wife stuff down pat ." he said laughing as she threw a pillow at him.

When Shaan came out of the bathroom Khanak was all ready. Her hair straight and falling down her back. Her make-up minimal. Her sari perfectly tied. Her choora and mendhi showing off her new bride status. "Ready?" Shaan questioned. Khanak nodded as Shaan took her hand and they walked to the door.

"Good morning newlyweds." Rashi and Sara said giggling. |Good morning." Khanak said shyly looking at Shaan's parents as well. "Morning" Shaan said as he pulled out Khanak's chair. "How did you sleep?" Rashi said giggling. Khanak felt her face turn red. "Rashi, be quiet and eat your breakfast and stop teasing your brother and bhabi." his mom admonished. Shaan smirked. "Khanak beta, do you need anything?" Shaan's dad asked. "This is your home now if you need or want anything all you need to do is ask." "I want you to feel completely comfortable." "Thanks Mohan Uncle, I mean dad." Khanak said slowly. "I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow." "I get to barely spend any time with my new bahu." Shaan's mom said pouting. "Mom, I've been away for almost a week and half from the office." "I need to get back especially because I know we're going to be away again for our honeymoon in another week." "I promise we'll come back soon to visit, or you just come see us anytime you want." "No, no, it's good that you're thinking of work. too." his dad said putting down the newspaper he had been reading. "Also, tonight we're having all the Ahluwalias over for dinner." "One last party before my son and daughter in law leave." "Siddarth is leaving in a few days too, so that'll give him a chance to say goodbye to Khanak. " "As well as a chance for us to spend some more time together." Khanak smiled happily, she couldn't wait to see everyone.

"So where are you going for your honeymoon?" Sara asked excitedly. "Venice for 5 days." Khanak said and the "other 5 days Shaan won't tell me yet". Shaan smiled mysteriously. "Bhai tell me atleast." Rashi said. "Tell you... RIGHT!!!! Shaan said shaking his head. "You keep a secret now that's a joke." Rashi glared at her brother. "You're mean bhai." she said pouting. "Mom, look at how mean bhai is to me?" "They should be nice to me, I'm even moving back to Chandigarh so that they can have some alone time. Rashi said pouting. Khanak gave her a confused look. "What, you're moving back." she asked. "But why?" "Bhabhi, you're newlyweds she said as if that answered everything. "So, that doesn't mean we're never going to spend time with anyone but eachother." "You're not going anywhere." she said to Rashi. "If you left who would I watch sappy hindi movies with, who would I go shopping with, who would I gossip and eat ice cream with at 12:00 at night." Rashi grinned. "Really you mean," it she squealed. "Yes, ofcourse." Khanak said laughing at her. "That's our house." Rashi ran around the table to Khanak and throwing her arms around her, squeezed her tight. " You're the bes."t she said sticking her tongue out at her brother. Shaan shook his head but couldn't help but smile. He was really happy that Khanak and Rashi had such a tight bond. "Don't worry I'll give you two lots of privacy." she said teasingly.

The rest of the day passed with family coming by to personally meet the new bride. Khanak also got to spend time with her new mother in law. In between Khanak and Shaan spent time organizing and packing for their flight back to Mumbai the next morning. The only interruptions were the constant ones, from Shaan who would never lose a chance to pull her away to steal a kiss or more. After the last stolen kiss Khanak and kicked Shaan out of their room locking it behind her. She leaned against the door and smiled happily. She had everything she ever wanted and more.
