khanak stared at the girl who had flung herself into shaan's arms. Her gaze shifted to shaan who had a look of horror on his face. "Natasha what are you doing here?" he asked. Trying to unsuccessfully unwrap her arms from around his neck. "shaan, I missed you and your assistant told me you were in Goa on vacation so I decided to come and surprise you." "You and I in Goa, how romantic she sighed. shaan looked at khanak helplessly. khanak was beyond angry. She had just started to let her guard down with shaan thinking maybe she had been wrong about him. But no her first instinct had been right. He was a pig and a loser. shaan watched the play of emotions across khanak's face. Yup she was mad alright he thought to himself. What the hell was Natasha even doing here in the first place. The first thing he was going to do when he got back to Mumbai was fire his assistant!

"Hi, I'm Natasha shaan's girlfriend" he heard Natasha say. shaan winced and looked at khanak again. Yup, she was looking ready to kill him and Natasha."Girlfriend huh." khanak said seething with anger. "No actually Natasha and I are just fre" shaan never got to finish the word friends because khanak interrupted and said "I'm khanak, shaan and I are business partners" and then she pushed past them. "I'll leave you two to catch up" without a backward glance she was gone.

As shaan watched khanak run up the stairs he silently swore to himself. 'Natasha why are you here?" he asked bluntly. " I've told you a 1000 times you're not my girlfriend. We are just friends. The fact that you're my best friend's little sister is the only thing that is stopping me from throwing you out right now" he said. "shaan please don't say that" Natasha pouted. "No you're going back tonight." "I'm going online and booking you a flight back right now. I'll drop you off at the airport. " Hearing the seriousness in shaan's voice Natasha did what she was best at. CRY. "Please shaan give me a chance. I promise I'll be good." I know realistically I'm not your girlfriend but just give me one more chance. "Please let us atleast be friends." I've never been to GOA. I promise I won't be in the way." shaan stared at her for minute and finally relented. "Fine one night but tomorrow you go back and no more of this boyfriend, girlfriend stuff. " Natasha nodded happily like a love struck puppy.

khanak woke up feeling miserable. She looked over at the clock and saw the time read 10:00. She'd finally fell asleep around 6:00. Before that she spent a good hour calling shaan every name in the book. Around 5:30 she had decided she wasn't going to show shaan in any way that she had been affected by him or his girlfriend. She was going to be very mature about the whole situation and not even think about pulling that Natasha's hair out. khanak forced herself out of bed. She wasn't going to spend her time in Goa sleeping. She put on a skyblue cotton halter dress with little white flowers on it. It was long , down to her ankles and flowy but fitted. She threw on some chunky wooden bracelets and a little mascara and lipstick to complete the look. Her thick hair hung in a ponytail down her back. She grabbed her sandals and left the room.

First thing she smelt was coffee. Thank goodness she thought, one of her cousins must be up. She glanced at shaan's bedroom room and saw that it was shut. The love birds must still be sleeping she thought angrily. khanak walked downstairs and into the kitchen and saw shaan standing by the coffee maker. khanak saw him, and turned back around to leave the room. "Hey, wait a minute" shaan said as he came around the corner and grabbed her arm. khanak glared back at him. So much for not showing any emotion she thought to herself. "Get your hand off of me shaan, khanak snapped. shaan didn't let go right away. He stared at her for a minute and finally released her. "Natasha is not my girlfriend khanak" he said. khanak shook her head with disgust . You're sick she said. You're denying it now but last night when she was all over you you didn't say a word. "What?! shaan said shaking his head with disbelief. I tried to tell you but you weren't in the mood to listen,instead you walked away in a huff. "Whatever shaan, you're a typical player and I'm not interested in listening to your excuses." "By the way where is your girlfriend, I'm surprised you two aren't still in bed!" shaan was getting pissed off now. "First of all khanak, it makes no difference to me if you believe me or not. I'm not going to keep explaining myself to you." "Second, I think you're jealous: he taunted. "Jealous...dream on! Jealous my foot." "I wouldn't care if you had a 100 girlfriends I have no interest in you. But next time you even attempt to touch or kiss me you will live to regret it" shaan was fuming. "Who the hell did she think she was he thought." shaan grabbed khanak's arm forcefully, "I don't remember you complaining during or after those kisses" he said angirly. "Infact as I remember by your actions you hardly wanted me to stop". khanak's eyes widened. "How dare you?!" she said through grated teeth. khanak and shaan were still glaring at eachother when they heard a sing songy voice behind them say"good morning" khanak forced shaan's hand off of her arm and they looked at Natasha walking into the kitchen. "What a beautiful morning she said. I feel great, I slept fabulously" she said winking at shaan. khanak felt physically sick! She hurried away making some excuse about waking up her cousin. "Thanks so much for letting me have your bed shaan, but you really didn't have to sleep on the sofa. There was lot of room on the bed. i didn't mind sharing" she said with a flirty smile. "Natasha behave said in a threatening tone as he left the room to get ready. Natasha smiled after him.. what's the fun in that she thought to herself

Everyone was up and ready to go. Natasha had made herself completely at home and had been introduced to everyone. Presently she was whispering something in shaan's ear and giggling. shaan just looked uncomfortable. "Sunny, how are you? I was waiting for you" shaan heard khanak say in a sugary sweet voice. He turned around just in time to see her giving him a big hug and Sunny squeezing her tightly to him. shaan felt his blood boil. "Come in you remember everyone" she said, purposely ignoring shaan and Natasha. She grabbed Sunny's hand and pulled him over to the group. shaan noticed the big dopey smile on Sunny's face. He had to restrain himself from going over and wiping that smile off his face. "We're going to a market today" khanak announced. "Who wants to join us." "The shopping is supposed to be pretty good." Hearing the word shopping Natasha's ears perked up. "We'll come too" she said. shaan looked at her with a I don't think so look on his face. Natasha grabbed his hand and started pleading. "Please shaan" she said. The others joined in too. shaan agreed just to shut everyone up. khanak glared at shaan, and shaan rolled his eyes. "Let's go" she snapped at Sunny . First stop was lunch where khanak flirted outrageously with Sunny infront of shaan. Giggling, batting her eyelashes, twirling her hair, holding his hand. Sunny was in 7th heaven. shaan either looked bored or disgusted althrough lunch. He could tell this Sunny guy was pretty infatuated with khanak already. Another puppy to add to her litter he thought disgustingly. So infront of him he had khanak trying her best to piss him off and succeeding royally and then next to him he had Natasha hanging on to his arm, giggling into his ear. This was his worst nightmare come true. Where was the waiter with his damn drink he thought. Alcohol was his only friend at a time like this.

What a besharm khanak thought as she looked as Natasha draped all over shaan. And what a bigger besharm shaan is to be interested in this Natasha. What a bimbo! As khanak stared at her she thought, she's pretty if you like that big hair, too much make-up, damsel in distress type. To shaan's credit he did not look happy. GOOD she wanted his to be miserable. With that thought she turned back to Sunny oblivious to whatever he was saying but feigning interest nevertheless.

After lunch everyone walked over to the large market that had all sorts of goods from jewelry to clothing and art. khanak and a few of her cousins stopped to look at some jewelery while shaan, arhan and Raj kept walking. Sunny didn't come with them. Instead he stayed behind with the girls. shaan shook his head what a tool he thought as he watched Sunny help khanak pick out a pair of earrings. Maybe he could hold her purse too. The afternoon progressed and shaan left the group to return some important business calls. Natasha had attached herself to him and he really couldn't take another second of her nasally voice. they went on two dates whre natasha tried to kiss shaan . After that shaan had made it clear that he only thought of her as a friend. He did not want to lead her on. But she just didn't seem to understand that. And with her being a good friend's sister it wasn't easy to blow her off either.

khanak looked around and noticed shaan was missing but he had left his girlfriend behind. Natasha was hanging out with arhan and Raj who were ofcourse falling all over themselves trying to impress her. They continued walking through the market and admiring the different items. It was at one of the booths that khanak saw something she had to have. She saw a painting that she instantly fell in love with. She was told it was done by a local artist and that he didn't live far from the market. She thought art like this would be perfect for their hotel. khanak got directions to the artist's home and Sunny said he'd come along. She told her cousins that she's meet them at home in 2 hours.

"It's been over 3 hours and khanak di is still not back yet" Sonia said to arhan. " I'm getting really worried now." "I know me too" arhan replied. "I've called her numerous times but her phone is off too." "We shouldn't have let her go alone. We don't even know this Sunny guy." shaan walked in that minute and looked questioninlgly at everyone's worried faces. "What's wrong?' he asked. "It's khanak di" Riya answered. Instantly shaan felt his breath catch. "What's wrong with khanak" he asked. "She's almost an hour and half late coming home and we're getting worried." shaan was instantly on alert. "Where is she?" arhan explained the situation to shaan. "arhan, how well does khanak know this Sunny that you let her go by herself" he asked angrily. "shaan, you know di does what she wants and never listens to anyone else." "Besides Sunny and her looked pretty cozy at lunch we thought they might want to spend some time alone together". shaan shook his head angrily. He grabbed his phone and dialed khanak's number .Phone was off. "Riya you stay here, the rest of you come with me we'll split up and look for her." shaan's heart was beating so fast. Where was she? He didn't trust that Sunny guy and he should have never left to make those calls. khanak had been trying her best to make him jealous he should have known she would have pulled a stunt like this. He refused to think anything bad could have happened to her. Instead he decided to concentrate on his anger. It was safer that way. He was going to kick that Sunny's ass when he saw him. And he was never going to let khanak out of his sight again.

An hour later:
khanak rushed into the Villa. "sorry, Sorry I'm so late i just met the most amazing artist. So interesting, his pieces are so different. Just amazing." 'I've convinced him to work with us." "Di Riya interrupted where have you been we've been so worried about you." "We've been calling and you didn't answer." khanak cut her off before she could continue. "Riya my phone died, I sent arhan a text from Sunny's phone telling him I'll be late." " didn't he get it?" "No I didn't" arhan said as he walked in with the others. "Where have you been di?" khanak repeated everything she had told Riya. "I'm just glad you're okay" Priya said hugging khanak. I'm fine khanak laughed shaking her head. "I better call shaan, he's still out looking for you arhan said quickly. "shaan's out looking for me?' khanak asked pleasantly surprised. "Yeah, he was really worried about you" arhan replied. khanak smiled to herself. "Well I'm going to take a shower and get ready. You guys get ready too. We've been invited to a goan beach party not far from here!" Everyone dispersed to start getting ready. khanak happily ran upstairs so excited about what she accomplished this afternoon. Wait until shaan finds out she thought.

shaan got home and didn't stop to talk to anyone. arhan had called him earlier and explained what had happened. He took the stairs 2 at a time. There was no emotion on his face but inside he was boiling mad. He got to khanak's door which was wide open. walked right in and slammed it shut behind him. khanak who had been deciding what to wear looked up with a start. Seeing shaan's blazing eyes khanak took an unconscious step back. His eyes had changed in color, his body language the way he was stalking towards her all showed just how angry he was and that he was trying to restrain his anger. "What are you doing here shaan?" she asked. shaan just kept walking towards her his eyes flashing. khanak took another step back. "Get out of my room shaan" she said with some panic in her voice. shaan stopped infront of her and grabbed her arm and jerked her towards him. They're faces were inches apart and for a few seconds neither one said a word. Then shaan broke the silence. "You are the most irresponsible, selfish brat I've ever met in my life. You're so self absorbed that you don't care how your actions may affect others. And you're the biggest idiot for going off on your own with some guy you just met in a foreign country." "You have no sense what so ever!" shaan paused and stared at a wide eyed, open mouthed khanak. "You're too reckless so I've decided that you're not going anywhere without me while we're in GOA."

It took khanak a minute to come out of the shock she was in from shaan's rant. When she did come out of it she reached out to slap him but he caught her hand. "How dare you?" she screamed. "Let go of my hand you idiot."" I don't need a babysitter. I've told you before and I'll tell you again stay away from me. I can't believe you're arrogance. You have no right shaan now let go." "YES I DO" shaan shouted.."You're my fianc and whether you like it or not I have a right." "You're my responsibility for the next 6 months and I take my responsibilities very seriously." His words had the effect of a bucket of cold water being dumped on her. All she could do was stare at him, dumbfounded. Fianc, she's never ever used that word in terms of shaan. Never even allowed herself to think that, that's what he was...her fianc. shaan let go of her hand and khanak turned away. "We're business partners" she said softly. "That's all. " She turned around and stared defiantly at him. I've traveled by myself before I've never needed a babysitter and I don't need one now. I'm not helpless. Don't try to use this forced engagement against me. If you want to go save some one, save your bimbo girlfriend Natasha.

He moved so quickly she didn't even see it happen. He walked her back until she hit the wall and he was pressed against her. "I would rather save my crazy fiance sorry "Business partner." With that he leaned down and gave her a hard kiss on the lips and turned around and left the room. But before he left he delivered one last parting shot. "Stop trying to make me jealous with that tool Sunny. It's not working. " "He's a boy and you and I both know you need a real man. " And then he winked at her. Leaving khanak once again at a loss for words.
