Moonlight Sonata

He hits play... Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata starts to play

He walks up to her, she takes a step back, extends his hand

Khanak is frozen in fear and nervousness

She has rolled her fists into balls

He stands there smiling

Shaan: Dance? (softly)

She looks up at him fearful, jumpy, awakened, every nerve in her body tingling

Khanak: Ive... I actually, Ive never danced before (her mouth and lips are absolutely dry)

Shaan: And, I have never made love...

Bends down and reaches for her hand!

Shaan: Your hand is freezing! (shocked)

Khanak: Ummm...I...

Shaan: (pulling her gently) Are you OK?

Khanak: Ummm... Yes... actually No...

Shaan: What happened? (really surprised)

Looks at her face and eyes, they are big dark pools, she is breathing audibly extremely uneasy

A smile escapes his features, before he ends it "Of me?"😳

He takes another step forward and slowly gathers her in his arms , she is clutching his forearms, stiff and inflexible

Shaan: relax...

Khanak: I cant... not when you are around!😳

He laughs out loud, it mixes with Beethoven and will forever remain in her memory

She smiles nervously looking at the thing bob in his throat

He closes the gap, and gently soothes her

Shaan: You are such an awesome dancer Khanak!

Khanak: Aapko kaise maloom? (ready to fight)

He can feel her body relax as her mental resources are focused on pitching a fight

He uses the opportunity to draw her closer.

His hands are on her waist, he frees one to gently slide one of her hands under his arm, so it can go to his back

Khanak: You came late! You didn't make it until the LAST dance! (miffed)

Shaan: I told you I was able to get a seat on the last flight out (trying the trick wither other hand)

She slowly leans on his chest, upset, he couldn't make it that nite

He groans discernably at the first ever hug

When she realizes her arms are on his back, he holds her close and says "Just stay in step! You can do this in your sleep"

It sends a shiver of thrill snaking through her.

Shaan: You agree d to get married to me. I still cant believe it sometimes. I would wonder if you will always remain sphinxlike. I had made plans to interrogate Paula if you did not heed my persuasion (chuckles again)

Khanak: I am quite boring...😭

Shaan: Not to me... 😳There is something about your eyes. They were big and accusing that day by the elevator

Khanak smiles, he can feel the crease on his shirt, he crushes her tight

Shaan: Nivs, Aman kisi ko tumhaare bare mein kuch nahi maloom. You appeared and disappeared from work.

Khanak: But you came home one night

Shaan: The only time you talked to me was when we fought (husky)Each time you would act like I deserve to be yelled at😊 (smug) I loved the possessiveness in your tone when we fought... Atleast you didnt ignore me. I knew then you were fighting something😳

Khanak: Ughhh!

Shaan: You would be something else then. Feisty, passionate energetic...

Shaan: Hmmm

Shaan: I just wanted to hear you say something, I wanted to follow you home and listen to you have a random conversation. I was sure you spoke little at home also.

Embarrrasssed she shut her eyes

Shaan: You accidentally left a door open Khanak, and I walked right in! (smug)

She is unable to manage a "Hmm" in acknowledgement

Shaan: This super private, shy person, went on to marry me and filch my phone during our honeymoon! (husky laughter)😉

He remembers everything, each moment, his pursuit, his drive and his passion to make Khanak all his. He enjoyed every moment, he reveled in finding her, chasing her and making her his own. This is the most baeutiful part of the story.

Her fingers carefully comb through his hair at the back of his head, he graons palpably. Her long slender hands in his dark silky hair.

Shaan: lets go upstairs!

He leads, she follows'''''.

He is two steps above her, he looks down at her, one hand holding her flowing dress, since she kicked off her shoes.

The other hand held by him, he looks at her deeply, tugs her hand, she takes that first step, he leads all the way, without taking his eyes off of her, climbing the stairs with his back towards it.

The room is lit by moonlight alone.

But they can see each other clearly

Shaan: I am going to try''.. (his voices trembles) to be very gentle Khanak

She swallows hard, and agrees with her terrified eyes

She buckles under the weight of those words, and leans on him, he holds her like he will never let her go!

That will be the last of what he will say for a while

The pact made between the husband and wife on engagement nite lasted exactly 9 days and 8 nights after the wedding!

Five and a half months from the time they bumped into each other near the elevator at the Ajmera Corporate Office, Shantanu Gujral and Khanak Mistry made love.
