Khanak (Yashashri) and Suraj (Harpreet) are childhood lovers living in Dhulwadi and about to get married. K is a cute sweet chirpy girl and Suraj is a decent guy. On the other hand Shaantanu(Karan Tacker) and Natasha (Rucha Gujrati) are a couple in Mumbai about to get married in 10 days.They love each other too. Shaan is an irresponsible, arrogant rich brat but otherwise really pure at heart. Natasha is a modern, practical and sweet girl who loves Shaan dearly.
As it happens that Suraj works in a facory in Dhulwadi which is owned by Shaan, the latter who gos to inaugurate the factory in Dhulwadi the day Suraj is getting married to Khanak. Khanak and Suraj get married amidst celebrations but do not stay together even after that. Suraj is called to fix a machine at the factory the next day by Shaan, but due to negligence on the part of Shaan, Suraj ends up getting electrocuted and dies!
Khanak vows for revenge from Shaan who very casually puts forward that K can get married again and live happy. At this the village sarpanch (ermm governor?) asks for Shaan to look for a groom for Khanak who even finds one but on the day of the wedding, the to-be-groom runs away with Shaan;s money. The village orders the death penalty for Shaan, who is saved by Khanak. K says she will marry Shaan and save her family honour.Shaan agrees to marry Khanak to save his life! Hence a very sad weeding takes place :(
K comes to Mumbai with Shaan where Natasha is heart broken to see Shaan married but is confident of her love. Shaan mistreats Khanak , along with his family members and only dadi and shaan's father open up to her. Shaan's brother Akshay gets Khanak to sign on the divorce papers (K doesn't know english btw) but even then they are required to live together for 6 months as reconciliation period. During this time Natasha moves into Shaan's house, inspite of Khanak still being there.
One night Shaan is drunk (must watch) and in a drunk state he bonds with khanak alone :) they talk and become friends. Natasha finds out about this and leaves the house. Khanak leaves too. Shaan goes after Khanak instead of Natasha and has a few days of adventure with her (must watch again) and they bond even more.shaan subcontiously falls for Khanak but does not realize it. he takes an active part in her welfare, teaching her English and they become close friends, very close! lol! he finally realizes his love for her and expresses it in a letter which his mother (who hates Khanak) switches and gives to Natasha. Natasha is overjoyed at his proposal again and Shaan is hurt at Khanak's rejection. Khanak is depressed at Shaan Natasha reunion since she oo has fallen in love with Shaan and forgiven him for her husband's death but as it turns out Natasha sacrifices her love since she notices the change in Shaan; that he now loves Khanak. Shaan, thereafter, runs after Khanak to make her express her love for him, which she cannot since she is from the village and hence very shy. However, she finally confesses and tells Shaan she loves him! YAY!
They consumate their marriage and Shaan encounters his college friends one of whom Rahul, wants to destroy him because of some old college tiff. Rahul loves Samaira who is Shaan's friend. Duck is also Shaan's friend. Together Shaan Duck and Samaira make a band and sing for Rahul's company even though Rahul wants to destroy Shaan. After some misunderstandings are cleared Rahul and Shaan become friends again and Samaira goes to America because she feels Rahul is not right for her. Jenny/Renny enters Rahul's life and they have a live in relationship
Sunny, Suraj's lookalike (Khanak's first husband) comes into the picture and Shaan mistakes Khanak for falling for Sunny because his face resembles Suraj. Khanak leaves the house and goes to Dhulwadi from where Shaan convinces her to come back and apologizes.
Shaan and Khanak start planning a baby (initially Shaan is skeptical to become a father but Khanak convinces him) and they go for a honey moon. They also celebrate 300 days of marriage.
Right now the show is focusing on an episodic format involvong different issues coming up in the lives of Shanaka and how they handle it episode wise :)
