Part Twenty- One
The next morning Khanak awakened before Shantanu. She blushed thinking about last night. She grabbed her robe and slipped it on. She went towards the window and opened the curtains to let the sun into the room.
She felt strong firm hands on her waist. She leaned back into his broad chest. He pressed a kiss behind her ear.
She squirmed as he went from her shoulders and then caressed her waist again. She began to realize what his intentions were and she pushed him slightly away.
"Shantanu I want to explore Zurich today. What will we tell everyone when we get home?," she asked.
Shantanu grinned.
" Hamara romance karne ka time hai. Kisi ho jawab dene ka nahin," he hissed.
Khanak tried to walk away but he grabbed her wrist.
"Pelhe ek kiss do na," he insisted.
She smiled and turned to face him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. When she pulled back, he was left spellbound for enough time that she could slip into the bathroom with her clothes.
"Wow aaj pelhi baar zyada request bhi nahin karni padi," he said to himself.
( Today for the first time I didn't have to request as much)
Khanak emerged from her shower and shook her head. Some water particles landed on Shantanu who had fallen asleep. He awakened but pretended to be asleep whenever she turned in his direction. He was having a good time watching her brush her hair and get ready for the day.
She finished putting on her jewelry and sighed looking at him sleeping.
"Shantanu uth jaye. We are supposed to be exploring the sights today not sleeping in," she muttered.
She had felt his eyes on her earlier. She smiled and pinched his arm.
" Ahh!,"
His eyes flew wide open this time.
"Khanak what was that for?," he exclaimed.
She giggled.
"Get up you sleepyhead. If you don't get ready soon I am going to go out myself," she hissed as she started to get up.
He grabbed her arm and she fell down beside him.
"Choro na Shantanu. Let me order breakfast while you go get ready," she insisted.
" At least here don't try to run every time we can be romantic," he complained.
She giggled.
"If it were up to there would be nothing but masti and romance . Ab mujhe baar chal na hai," she stated. (I want to go out now)
Shantanu groaned before he got up to get his things to go get ready.
Khanak handed him a towel and ushered him into the bathroom. Breakfast arrived quickly. She sipped some tea as she looked at some of the tourist sights.
She spotted a picture of a church known for its miraculous blessings. It was known as a place where people from all different faiths could come seek blessings and peace.
Khanak quickly wrote down the place's name on piece of paper. She wrote Shantanu a letter and decided to go see this place. She was not sure if Shantanu would like it or not. However she left him the option of joining her there.
Shantanu came out a few minutes later he spotted the flier and the letter Khanak had left for him.
He was surprised she had gone without him. He quickly ate and decided to meet her there.
Meanwhile Khanak had found the place rather quickly since it was close to their hotel. The reverend that was there welcomed her in. She nodded in appreciation. There were a few people around. She curtly gave them acknowledgement with a smile before she settled down in the second row. She closed her eyes and thought about everything that happened in her life so far.
She thanked God for giving her so much happiness when she had lost out on her dreams when Suraj had died. She was grateful for Shantanu now more than ever.
" Thank-you God for letting me survive that accident," she thought to herself.
She prayed for Khushboo Bhabhi and the new addition to their family. She prayed for everyone that had touched her life and changed it for the better.
"Just one more thing God. I want Shantanu and me to be together for as long as possible. Main un ke bina adhuri hoon aur woh mere bina adhura hai," she said softly.
A moment later, she opened her eyes and was surprised to see Shantanu besides her.
He opened his eyes and smiled.
" Chale?," he inquired.
She nodded as she picked up her coat and then took his hand as they walked towards the other part of the church. They took blessings from the reverend. He wished them both well.
Suddenly as they were walking towards the exit, Khanak's scarf got caught on a statue.
She turned to look at it and felt mesmerized. Another woman who seemed European came over and took blessings from it. She touched it and said some prayers and then leaned in whispered something into it.
"Is this statue known for something special?," Khanak inquired.
The woman nodded.
"My sister came here once and like you her scarf got stuck here. A year later she found out she was expecting. Doctors all told her it would never happen for her. Today my nephew is two years old," the woman stated.
Khanak thanked her and got her scarf loose.
Meanwhile Shantanu noticed Khanak was not behind him. They nearly bumped into each other as she caught up.
"Where were you?," he asked.
"Kahin nahin. Just this lady was telling me a nice story about this place. It really does grants miracles," she gushed.
Shantanu smiled.
"Yes there seems something really special about this place. No wonder you left without waiting for me this morning," he quipped.
She nudged him and smiled.
They linked arms and started to walk back towards the hotel.
The couple ordered more tea and coffee as they planned the rest of their adventures to embark on before their flight in three days.
"How about we visit the bigger art gallery and museum tomorrow, today we should go see the sled races,"Khanak said.
"Will they let us ride in the sled around the park?," he asked.
"Let me get the number,."
Shantanu dialed and the receptionist said they could take a ride this afternoon.
That afternoon they screamed together at every bump and even had a snowball fight.
In the evening when they returned to change for dinner, Khanak expressed how happy she was.
"Shantanu aaj main bauth khush hoon. Being with you here in Switzerland is more than a dream come true. I love you and I am so happy you are my husband," she said.
He cupped her chin.
"Khanak when we were first married I never imagined I would come to love you as much as I do now," he declared.
She hugged him. He held her close enough that she could hear his heartbeats and then of course his stomach growling.
She stepped back.
"Let's go eat. Afterwards I have to get back at you for throwing three snowballs in my face today," she hissed.
"Just remember your promise not to drink Khanak," he called after her.
"I do not need to get drunk to get revenge my darling!," she replied.
