As 2010 comes to an end we take a look at some shows that did not have many expectations riding on them when they were launched this year. However these underdogs emerged winners by making a place for themselves in the hearts of the audience. These shows truly surprised everyone by topping the charts this year.

Rang Badalti Odhani: Rang Badalti Odhani on STAR One had a slow start with debutants Yashashri Masurkar and Harpreet Singh in the lead. The entry of heartthrob Shantanu (Karan Tacker) changed the fate of the show. Viewers fell in love with the jodi of the spoilt brat Shantanu and the mature Khanak. Today this couple popularly known as Shanak is a hit pair. Yashashri's portrayal of Khanak who was ill treated by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law but never lost hope of winning them over, was also appreciated.

hapreet was never the lead! kt and yashu were always meant to be the lead pair. they say it like kt was an after thought entry or something. he and yashu were there in the very first episode. and the show started getting popular after shanak's love story started. the facts are a little vague but otherwise this is fantastic news!
