Shantanu has a surprise in store |
Shantanu aka Karan Tacker from Rang Badalti Odhani on STAR One has a big surprise in store for his parents on their 30th wedding anniversary. |
He will be singing 'Khabar Nahi from Dostana' and also playing the guitar on the special occasion. Khanak who had suggested that he perform is also unaware of Shantanu's plan. We caught up with Shantanu and here is what he had to say. "Every person who sings thinks that he is a fabulous singer (laughs) but only other people can judge whether I sing well or not. However, yes, I do like to sing in real life too. Infact I think my voice resembles my favorite singer Atif Aslam (smiles)". So does Shantanu play the guitar in real life too? "No I don't pay the guitar but I have attended 2 sessions today before the shoot so that it does not look unreal onscreen". Unfortunately Karan could not lend his voice to the song like it had earlier been planned. "Yes I am not singing in the show anymore because of music rights issues". Speaking about the current track Shantanu reveals " I would love it if all my girlfriends from the past came back but unfortunately it is just my singing and guitar that is coming back as a gift to my parents and this track has nothing to do with Natasha either". Shantanu is passionate about music in real life too and gets excited when we question him on the subject. " I love music as there are songs to suit every mood. When I am in a romantic mood I sit in my car and listen to mushy numbers" he reveals. Speaking about his favorite singers Shaan says that he has a long list "I love Atif Aslam's voice. Then there is Mohit Chauhan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Neeraj Sridhar and Sonu Nigam. I love all their songs and cannot pick one particular singer. I keep listening to Sonu's song featuring Shah Rukh Khan because they are fabulous". By now we have realized that Shantanu is an absolute romantic in real life too and can't help asking him about songs that he would sing to pacify an upset partner. "The perfect song for an upset partner would not be something that is peppy or loud because it tends to irritate an upset person further. I would choose any Mohit Chauhan number. Dooba Dooba would be perfect". Shantanu's towel act was inspired by Ranbir Kapoor in Saawariya, when asked whether this track too is inspired by any Bollywood star, Shantanu immediately denies it. "The track is absolutely original and not inspired by any actor. Infact even my towel act was on the lines of Saawariya but not inspired by Ranbir". Revealing a little about the upcoming track of Rang Badalti Odhani Shantanu says "There is going to be a total change in the show in the upcoming weeks. We are going into a younger zone. We are getting more STAR One by the day (laughs). New characters will be introduced and we will have a huge cast". " I love the rom-com that our show has now become. It's such a relief from the serious stuff. Infact I have paid the channel to continue with the rom-com track (laughs)". Shanatanu gets nostalgic as he recalls his younger days. "I did a lot of buffoonery in college. Now I have changed. College days were fun but we stayed within our limits. Those people who think I am a prankster now should have seen me during college days" he says. Shantanu adds "Now I am very serious like I am on the show and very calm (laughs). Its not me but Swapnaji who is the biggest prankster on our sets". Speaking about his co-actors Shantanu reveals "My rapport with everyone is superb. I get along well with Yashashree and my onscreen mom-dad. I am best friends with Khushboo bhabhi, she is fabulous". So how does Shantanu unwind after the shoot? "I like going home to my family. I am very family oriented. I am also a big foodie with a Punjabi and Continental palate" he reveals. "I love wine and chicken and am addicted to Sami Sosa that is near my place. It's inexpensive place run by 2 brothers and the food is delicious. I would definitely recommend it". Shantanu leaves with a message for fans "Keep watching Rang Badalti Odhani and keep loving me". Do not miss Shantanu's special performance on Rang Badalti Odhani every Monday to Friday at 10 pm only on STAR One. |
