yes.agree with may.
we say this in our day to daylife too oftenalso.like we were out for sometime and somebody did such and such a thing
" hum log char panch din ke liye ghar se bahar jo the aur hamare padosiyon ne hamare ghar ke samne gaadi parking shuru kar dhi" some thing like this.
It only means we were away for some time and literal meaning does not apply here.
