Pain, brings out the best - How often have we not heard this phrase or adage?

Well.. if pain as an emotion is the reason for many a bard to romance the word... pain has also been the very reason, men and women have evolved better people...

With reference to the story ... Shaantanu... went through pain, and agony... and terrible guilt with him being the unfortunate reason for the death of Suraj.

Khanak , went through the pain of losing a loved one, of losing the life, that she dreamt of, just about got it only to lose it in a blink of an eye; faced the wrath of the society to suffer in pain of the loss... and also to make a choice of doing what is right - save a man's life... even if it meant to marry him... and help him escape the unfair wrath of the rural society...

And there is Natasha... who if at a point in time was the unsuspecting prey to pain that was huge, is now , wallowing in self pity , is the very reason for her own increasing pain...

While Shaantanu emerged from the Shaan, a better person, aware of the right thing and aware of his own self and beliefs, Khanak emerged a woman from the girl she was - aware of life... stronger and ready to face what Life had to throw at her...

It is Natasha , who , chooses in the face of pain, to evade it, avoid it and eventually now succumbs to it... losing her rationale... and well... eventually... would be lost in her pain, and forget to even move on...

Pain is a seductive temptress.... that makes you pine for it so much, that once smitten by it, you crave for the pain so much, you choose to let go of life itself....It is choice between Love and Passion that makes men and women choose Life and well... the tears of pain...

Just a thought on how the three characters have dealt with the pain that was a part of their lives..

Pain, though is the very core of this story and the way the characters emerge dealing with this pain is the very essence of the story!

Just my thoughts...

Very true Sareeta, the show is about how people deal with pain and also how they cope with change.....Jab odhani ne apna rang badala, tab subne apne sahi rang dekla diye....Whoevers colour was true and strong will remain, but the weak colours will fade away.....

Well said!

Though on the topic of pain - I feel

Shaan's pain - was his guilt for a mis-understanding.

Khanak's pain - of losing Suraj - she knows he won't be back but she has dealt with it, a pain of losing a loved one.

Nats pain - I feel might be the worse out of the three because she is losing Shaan through no fault of her own, nor has she left him nor did she hurt him, he just went from being hers to someones husband without any warning any break up and she has been left to deal with the pieces and she is finding it hard to let go. Her pain she has to deal with everyday whilst Shaan is making up for his mistake and Khanak she dealt with Suraj's lose she made her self strong enough to live her life, even though she was made to marry Shaan, she was willing to live her life with his memories. She has lost a loved one but she has to face him everyday and that is difficult.

Sareeta darling beautifully written dear.....👏👏👏 but then you are great with putting things in prespective...
@ May...aww...how well yousaid it dear...loved the whole Odhani example...👏👏
So true..its pain that really brings out the good or the bad or should one say worse in us...It is the bringer of Change...a cahnge that a person by his /her choices can make positive or negative.
Shantanu...and Khanak...embraced the pain...and came out the better for it...making them in to better human beings...who learnt to move on and fight it...instead of wallowing in it...They decided to make things better...for themslves..instead of living in Pain eternally.
Where as Natasha...is embracing it as her soul companion...she is wallowing in it...and nourishing it...She is so attached to it...that she does not know how to let go. The question again is...what will she do..what will she chose...to wallow in it for ever...or pick up the pieces of her life and move on ...just as Shantanu did, just as Khank did..or stay there for ever..feeding that Pian and destroying herself.
Its her Choice in the end.... and so true..to live with Pain or without is a Choice we human beings make...it all about Choice in the end...

So true! Complteley agree. Pain also makes people weak, it is people that can survive the test that god is putting them through that emmerge victorious.
Pain also makes people starve for love, and we cling to the person who is offering us love or the source that is providing you attention. It is people that can respect the past and not give in to that immediately that are truly strong. ShaNak haven't given into each other yet.
They are letting nature take it's course. Though they are falling for each other, it isn't because of the pain that they don't momentarily feel when they aretogether, it is so much more than that. 😃

Maddy - So agree with what you said!! We need to respect that past and what has happened and just move on...and I think... SHanak , their case.. they are jus moving on... and love will happen along the way....amongst many other things... they will discover themselves and who they are... together or alone... doesnt really matter...at least not at the moment...

Krishna - I do agree that its the choice that Natasha makes and I purposely didnt add a note that I truly believe in , in the post and that is that pain, ultimately makes you a better person... it leaves you no choice... if it hasnt made one a better person, then the person hasnt felt pain or endured pain to the intensity that he is capable of tolerating, cause pain is shweth they say in hindi.. jo ghar ehsaas ko mitaakar... has mail mita deta hai... one emerges purer and better ... and Natasha hasnt even come close to enduring pain in my opinion...

Nikita - Due respect, I have to disagree that Natasha's pain is highest... all three of them have endured pain, that they are capable of... Natasha hasnt even reached the level, that she can bear and tip over... she ought. to.. and for me... honestly... the situation that she is in... she should be able to let go... since there is no reciprocation... we wouldnt want to blame her now... coz its just the beginning but she is intelligent enough to sense that something is amiss ... and she should be able to tell her self that Shaan has moved on , so should I ... what does she have to cling on? Memories... and do they help... have they ever helped anyone? The high point for Natasha will be when she faces the truth that Shaan has moved on... and from there on, she can choose to accept , or inflict more pain on herself (which is what will test how much she can endure... it doesnt matter who induces it ) till she breaks and tips over and finally accepts what has happened and move on...whether that is late or sooner... is something we ought to see..
Please dont mind, just my two cents..!

May - Have to agree.. liked the idea of how you compared the color of the odhni with the changing colors of people ... and their attitudes! Very nice!

Nikita ...pain for every individaul is the same....we cant say soemone pain is less and the other is more...All three suffered from it...all three dealt or are dealing with it in their own way...

The pain of being the reason for someones death can be really very very cripling ...but Shan...instead of just living in limbo...dealt with it and is dealing wiht it..by doing the right thing..and moving forward in life..
In the same way to lose the person you loved all your life and who you just got married to and hadn't even seen after ot talked to die so suddenly can leave one devastated...if Khanak wanted she too could like Natahs have wallowed in that pain for ever...but she too chose to move on and fight it
But Natasha...is one person..who is not willing to move on...she is stuck in limbo...she is not ready to fight it...or accept it an move on wiht her life....Her pain is no less or more the any of the others in my opinion...its the way the others have chose to deal with the pain that makes us think ..their pain was less or of no consequence..as in all three instances ...no one was to blame for the pain they were going through too....
I hope I made some sense....

Guys personal opinion but yes pain can not be compared nor can love.

Sareeta - I agree Natasha does need to let go and move on but she is clinging onto the hope Shaan has given her even though she can see the signs she is ignoring all logical - Shaan kept on saying to her 6 months, its only for 6 months, even on Tues Khanak said to her I will be gone in 4 months so she is holding on. Tell her there is nothing left for her and she will move on.

Kurabe - Dealing with a death of a loved on is difficult I still struggle to deal with my great grans death I mean I still just expect her to be around - when I go to her house I expect her to be in her room and its been over a year now.
Yes Khanak dealt with her pain but Natasha again hasn't been let go off, I mean she is still being kept in Limbo A. Because of words said my ShaNak and B. Because of her feelings.

Agree with you Krishna...exactly my thoughts too.. No one's pain can be undermined... their pain for them is the highest or the most difficult to deal with , coz one can bear only so much... pain is not intended to cripple I suppose, it is to make you realize what you are capable of dealing with and getting up and fighting it...

And so I wouldn't undermine Natasha's pain, but I wouldn't say it is highest either... am just waiting to see how she will deal with it!
