A new show tentatively named as 'Ranbir Aur Rano' will go on air on Zee Next from 27 July. The daily show, being produced by Shreya Productions and directed by Chander Behl, is likely to air on prime time. The show boasts of an impressive star cast with proven performers like Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Kunickaa Lal, Sakshi Talwar and Rajendra Gupta.
A source informs, "Sakshi Talwar (aka Suman of 'Ek Thi Rajkumari' fame) and rookie actor Vinay Rohrra will be playing the lead roles of Rano and Ranbir respectively. Vinay has acted as a child artist both in films and TV.
Prior to this show, Vinay has featured in music videos and TV commercials. The cast of this serial also includes Pankaj Berry, Ajay Trehan, Aashish Duggal and Sanjay Swaraj. Rajendra Gupta is playing father to Sakshi while Kunickaa Lal will once again be seen in the role of a cunning step mother."
Our source says, "The show is about two lovers. Sakshi is playing the role of a girl who is tormented and harassed by her step mother. She belongs to a Punjabi family. Kunickaa and Rajendra have two sons. The younger son is twelve-years-old and is apathetic towards his step sister Rano. The elder son is wicked like his mother. Rajendra plays the loving father but can't do much to prevent her daughter from being tormented by his step wife."

Speaking on her character, Sakshi says, "Rano is a girl who never cries. She is a strong girl with a lot of responsibilities. I am focused in life and viewers will find me fighting the toughest of situations without shedding tears."

Vinay had this to say, "The channel has told me and the production house to keep my details and pictures undisclosed."
The creative director Kamal Lakhani said, "Apart from the lead actors, all our actors are well known. I am sure viewers will appreciate it."
