Part2: MARMARTH VICHALIT HUYI RAGHUVIR, sita drops her ornaments, finally potli!
Ravan takes out his sword and Chanting: PRASEED PRASEED BRAHMADEV (oh lord Brahma, be pleased) cuts off his head; he sacrifices it to fire.. He does this 9 times and at last Brahma appears. The holy trinity was watching from above already.
Brahma comes to grant him his desired boon.
R: grant me immortality
B: I cannot my son, although I am pleased at your hardship. Every living being is under the rule of death that is what makes the world going.
R: I want to be immortal, I want to rule the universe and I want to be undefeated ruler. So please grant me the boon so that
NAG, SHARPA,DAITYA,DANAV, ,APSARA,GANDHARAVA,YAKSHA, RAKSHASHAS,BETAL : none of them can defeat me
B: my son, you overlooked human beings and monkeys
R: Humans! (Roaring with laughter) can they even face me? The Mighty Ravan? No father, I am not bothered by them; neither will those dancing animals hurt me.
B: so be it.
He grants the boon, smiles a little and disappears.
Mahadev completes his narration: and so the lord has to take human form
Ram is sad and mourning. Even Laxman fails to give him solace. His soothing words:" maybe Sister is here, hidden behind the dense forest some where "is dismissed as soothing lies by Ram. He says: Laxman, you know it very well its all lie, not a speck of truth. Sita is no where. What happened to my sita!
Oh my god! What shall I answer to our mothers? What shall I answer to her sisters?
They move madly from shore to shore crying her name.
Sita is crying over and over shouting and chanting her husbands name.
R: shout to your might. Your petty Human husband can never face me, the Mighty Ravan.
He cannot harm me, even if he follows me, he will never reach my Lanka.
He roars with laughter.
Sita looks down and sees some vanaras roaming. As a last resort she starts taking out all her ornaments. Then she packs all of them together-her lockets, chains, ornaments of feet and toes, all together in a small napkin of her, makes a bundle out of it (the famous potli finally!). She takes them in hand, prays to lord that they may reach her husband as direction to her route and throws them off. The vanaras, who are startled by the dropped bundle, pick it up and keep it.
Ravan takes sita away.
