hey guys!!!

i think so the sagars r too much influenced by the southern culture....as the music played on the entry of ravan and dresses of the women in his court including that of mandodri is southern in style...

also the mangal sutra was popular in south only at that time which sitaji is wearing.....

what say???

no there is no fault in her mangalsutra design..the whole mangal sutra is wrong as at the time of ramayan mangal sutra was not worn by married ladies in the north side...and was only considered auspicious in southern part..

so sitaji wearing mangal sutra is not correct and factual

umm..actually there was nothing known as mangalsutra as such in the south ...it wasn't black beads in the south..it was a yellow thread or a gold chain with some attached lockets ..because i'm a tamilian..and till date we don't USUALLY wear the black one ( though few do)..majority wear the golden chain or thread

the north indian-

THANKS a bunch chilly ,shruti & vasihanavi for ur comments on sitaji's mangalsutra ,still women of north india don't wear mangal sutra , as i am from north india so i hv seen this ,even my mother ,my mausi ,my mami n all my aunties don't wear mangalsutra ,they only wear it on special festive occasions like a jewellery !!!!

i hv heard tht sitaji used to wear a specila ornament named SITAMANI !!! & tht she got as a gift from kaushlaya mata on her wedding to RAMA !!!!

SITAMANI considered auspicious from a wife's point of view for her husband !!!

I agree with Camella
Here in South Africa at least 60% of the Indians are of South Indian origin - and they dont use mangalsutras - they wear somnething called a thali - a yellow string with a gold locket. On the other hand all the north indianers here seem to wear a managsutra.

BTW I like the way Sagars have "southernised" Lanka since historically I'm sure Lanka was influenced by south Indian culture. Ihope they also show Kishkindha in a south Indian style
