I'll explain why.
Friend of mine has a website dedicated to travel to India. He runs it for a number of years. So people who want to go there or who already was there are exchanging information on this site. Fine. One day I was talking with my friend and mentioned stories from Indian epic. Friend became very enthusiastic and told me : OK, you can write some stories on my website, it would be nice, and you can use pictures people provided on their threads to illustrate the stories. Fine!
I agreed and before starting the project I decided to take a look and analyse what was there.
Oh well..
I'll not tell much, just about only one thread. I looked at Rishikesh thread. What I found there shocked me. Just think about it. For 5 years, people were writing and posting pictures in this thread, NO ONE, I repeat, no one ever mentioned this place was all about Ramayana. They were talking about trails, restaurants, hanging outs, ganj smoking, yoga practicing, Shiva worshiping, how cool Vasishtha's cave is but it never crossed their mind all those places were about Ramayana, for 5 years - never.
I even couldn't find proper pictures to illustrate my stories.
All of sudden I found myself on educational mission. Fine with me! And know what? I sucseeded.
Now people reading my stories and they just love to watch clips from Ramayan serial. So I directed them to your place, Tannistha! Thank you very much!
