The other discussion thread was locked because it reached 150 pages, so I opened a 2nd one.đ Here are my views on yesterday's episode.
Personally, I found this episode a lot better than the previous ones.đđź True, Sita's character does not seem consistent now, but I like how she's more caring and motherly here. I hope they show her character like that throughout from now on and get rid of the Amazon personality they gave her.
The scene with Ram and his nephews was very sweet and definitely a tear jerker.đđ It always pains me sooo much to see the suffering of Ram and Sita in any movie/serial.đ
I too did not like how Luv's character was shown, but I'm not going to give it too much thought, because at that age, kids are very very naughty, and I don't think it has to do with the personality of parents. Naughtiness isn't necessarily something passed down from genes, and the way the Sagars showed Luv's naughtiness was cute but they also over did it. I agree with Chandra that it seems more like Shri Krishna's naughtiness, but I suppose that's alright, because I remember that earlier in the serial, when Hanuman's Bal Kand was being shown, they showed a scene with Hanuman stealing butter that's right out of Krishna Leela. I think Krishna's naughtiness is legendary and cute to use in other serials, so it doesn't matter so much.
However, I agree that Kush setting the snake free was a bit too much. I think the Sagars want to show them as brave courageous kids from small age, but they must remember that Luv and Kush are only supposed to be about 5 years old, and usually five year olds do not play with or go near snakes.
The only major problem I had with this episode was Sita's decision being overriden by two people. The Sagars should not have showed that because one of the morals of Ramayan is to teach children to obey parents always, and if Sita's order to Luv is disregarded, kids will think it's okay if other adults support them.
Otherwise, this episode was so much better than the previous ones. Hopefully, the serial will be back on track soon (though I don't know how the Sagars will manage Lavanasur later on instead of showing him before the birth of Luv Kush).
