Also agin-pariksha was not new for Ikshvakus, Harishchandra's wife Taramati( also known by name: Shaibya and chandramati) too gives an agnipariksha and comes out unscathed.

really? never knew.

by the way, during Mata ka Jagran or towards the end of a Jagran, priests always read Tara-rani's story in order a Jagran to be fulfilled.

Do you guys know this? It is indeed a very nice story, if you have heard it.

Rajnish, Avinash, Rupadi, Sitadi, Ananya, Mallika di, Rinki n Juhi u all r welcome 🤗

@ Avinash thanks for explaining those verses

@ Sitadi - yup I too want sagar to show it in a magnificent way

@ Ananya- Yup Sita Ma was not first to give AgniPareeksha. Chandramati was first to give Agni pareeksha Ranghuvanshi always gave more importance to Dharma n image of their destiny. Yup that was reason why Ikswaku King exiled prince Danda. Danda was a very bad person n he did wrong to his subjects n Ikswaku exiled him uphelding Dharma. This shows that we had concept like Rule of law ie rule of Dhrama n not men in those days. Kings use to give more imporatance to Dharma n justice . but I read that he molested shuracharaya daugther after he was exiled. here some info abt him which i had posted earlier

"One named Danda, the last son of Ikshvaku, used to perform demonic activities in their kingdom. His father Ikshvaku received many a complaint about Danda's deeds from his subjects, and got angry. He banished Danda from his kingdom. Danda took refuge in Vindhya mountain range and built a kingdom and a beautiful capital for himself called Madhumanta. He did friendship with all the demons there and also became a disciple of Sage Shukraachaarya, the guru of demons. One day when Sage Shukraachaarya was not in hermitage, Danda reached there, and saw Araja, the elder daughter of the sage Shukra, and molested her, in spite of her repeated protests. Later when Sage Shukraachaarya came to know about it, got enraged and cursed Danda, to fall down along with his entire kingdom under a mud storm around that Madhumanta capital for a period of seven consecutive days. Then there was a mud storm for seven days and entire kingdom went under mud,and later on became a forest called Dandaka. The place to where the curse fearing people fled from that Madhunata to further south is called Jansthaana. At later time, when Rama's peregrination started, these two places, Dandaka forest and Janasthaana, were under the domain of Ravana, and Ravana made one demon named Khara, as the protector of this dominion Jansthaana.

@Rinki- Yup Taramati is a great clebrated queen of Suryavansh

When did Taramati give Agnipariksha? What I read her do was that when she was in exile with her husband and son, she was a maid in a Brahmin's house, and Rohit was beaten for playing in the house. She asked him to go outside and play, and discovered way past midnight that he was bitten by a snake. So she asked the Brahmin to give her what she'd need to pay a chandala, but the Brahmin refused to give her anything. Finally, after going around with his body, she finally got to the crematorium where Harishchandra worked. Even though they discovered each other's identities, Harishchandra insisted that as his fee, she give him the upper garment of his body, even though that would have left her topless. She was about to do it when Vishwamitra (the antagonist of this episode) intervened, and Harishchandra's boss was revealed as Yama. Rohit was restored to life.

Her greatness was that she persuaded her husband to sell her into slavery so that he could pay Vishwamitra in addition to giving away his kingdom.
