Chatter, do call NDTV Imagine network and ask some of the questions that our forum members have. When will Ramayan end and Indrajeet's name and if there might be a sequence after Ramayan, Luv Kush, etc.

Kudos to Rakesh Deewana for potraying this great character in this epic with such great and fun expressions!! I had tears in my eyes too after watching this episode, especially when KK uncle's wife, cried her heart out!!😭😭 He didn't even see her before his death!! What a sad, sad, episode!!😭😭 😭 Wow, the Sagars finished this episode quickly and on to the next war scene!! I guess they are in a hurry now!!<br></font></font>

I agree with this. In other places, they seemed to stretch the story, but here, they were in too much of a hurry to get to Atikaya. First of all, Kumbhakarna and Rama had a fierce battle, but here, it was just one weapon, and then Rama started the execution. I thought the entire first part could have been the battle, culminating in his death. Then they could have shown the mourning in more detail, and then, maybe the funeral. After all, even Prahast's mourning took up a full episode. Also, would have liked to see Kumbhakarna's sons as well, since they get killed in the next battle.

I felt genuinely sad for Vajramala. 😭 One thing I didn't get though, was Vibhishan thinking himself responsible for Kumbhakarna's death. While he was responsible for Meghnad's death later, I neither saw here, nor read, anything that could be considered a betrayal of Kumbhakarna by Vibhishan.

As for Rakesh Deewana, he did an outstanding job depicting Kumbhakarna.

I want to add something about Kumbhkaran from Valmiki Ramayan.
During war, when Kumbhkaran was killing vanaras, then Vibhishan comes in front of Kumbhkaran.
Now obviously Kumbhkaran was far stronger than Vibhishan. If they fought, then, because of his loyalty towards his elder brother, Kumbhkaran would have been forces to kill Vibhishan.
But, because of his affection towards his younger brother, Kumbhkaran did not want to kill Vibhishan.
Therefore he talked to Vibhishan very affectionately. He first praised Vibhishan for his decision. He said that the rakshas race would continue only because of Vibhishan. Then he explained to Vibhishan how Kumbhkaran would be forced to kill Vibhishan if they fought. He also said that he did not want to kill him. So he advised that Vibhishan should not come in front of Kumbhkaran.
Then Vibhishan, with tears in his eyes, went away from Kumbhkaran.

Let me add another thing from Valmiki Ramayan. During war with Kumbhkaran, Ram shot the same arrow, with which he had killed Vali. But that arrow had no effect on Kumbhkaran.😲 Then Ram used stronger arrows.😊

avinash u talkd abt valmiki ramayan and here is what i found
kumbhakarn comes in much later according to valmiki ramayan on net
i dont want to start another arugments but just for the sake of knowledge i m putting it here

Restored to confidence by Angada, all the monkeys return to the battle-field. Dvivida, a leader of the monkeys hurls a mountain towards Kumbhakarna, but it misses the target and falls on horses, elephants and chariots of the enemy. Dvivida hurls another mountain and some demons are killed. Hanuma strikes Kumbhakarna with a large mountain-peak and injures him severely. In reply, Kumbhakarna strikes on Hanuma's chest with his spike. Then, Kumbhakarna strikes other monkey-chiefs who attack him. Thousands of monkeys then ascend Kumbhakarna's body and encounters him with their nails, fists, teeth and arms. In response, Kumbhakarna destroys all those monkeys with his spike. When Angada, the leader of the monkeys, attacks Kumbhakarna, the latter strikes Angada violently and Angada falls unconscious. Then, Kumbhakarna begins his attack on Sugreeva. But, Sugreeva strikes Kumbhakarna's chest with a mountain, but the mountain only breaks into pieces. When Kumbhakarna throws his spike towards Sugreeva in retaliation, Hanuma stops it on the way and breaks it off. Then, Kumbhakarna hurls a mountian-crust on Sugreeva to make him unconscious and takes him away on his shoulders to Lanka. When Sugreeva regains consciousness, he tears off the ears and nose of Kumbhakarna with his sharp nails and teeth. In relation, Kumbhakarna thren Sugreeva down and crushed him. Then Sugreeva bounces into the air and gets re united with Rama. Kumbhakarna thereafter takes his hammer and begins to attack the monkeys and bears. Then, Lakshmana starts to attack Kumbhakarna with his arrows. But, Kumbhakarna appreciates the valour of Lakshmana and proceeds towards Rama to fight with him. Rama discharges some arrows with 'Roundra' spell towards Kumbhakarna. Those arrows disappear into Kumbhakarna's chest and make him weapon-less. In retaliation, Kumbhakarna hurls a mountain-peak towards Rama and even before the mountain-peak reaches Rama, it was split up into pieces by the arrows released by Rama. Thereupon, on the advice given by Lakshmana, all the monkeys climb straight upon Kumbhakarna's body. Kumbhakarna shakes them off with violence. Then, Rama employs a great missile and chops off one arm of Kumbhakarna. When Kumbhakarna with an uprooted tree in his arm, retailiates by running towards Rama, the latter with an arrow, presided over by Indra, hurls it on the former and chops off the second arm of Kumbhakarna, Rama then chops off the feet of Kumbhakarna with his arrows and finally slashes off his head.

prahsat and others including indrajeet come first and uses naag pash on ram lakshman kumbhakarn comes later bt here we r givin tribute to might of kumbhakarn who became so adorable for us in forum

In tulsi ramayan vibhision goes to kumbhkaran to ask him to take his side, if this wud have happened ravan wud have end the war but kumbhkaran refused to do it saying his first dharma is to side his brother. he has never thought to meet his bro in this way in battleground as an enemy. when vibhision said even if bro has taken side of adharma?, kK replied brother are hands of each other, and ask what if a hands if one hand gets wounded do we cut it and throw? when u left ur bro you cut his one hand. when vibhision find him accused he said it was not him who left ravan but ravan himself threw him away. kK said taking side of one's bro is always a persons first dharm, this is what even ramji taught us. he said he know ravan is wroung , he also knew ram is vishnu incarnation and invincible and if KK fights he wud definetly die but even inspite of this he wud fight with Ram as a real enemy, he wud never betray his bro. he finally ask vibhision to go back and to his dharma and he wud do his own dharma, when vibhision was leaving tears came in both bro eyes.😭

Thanks for starting this topic mallika di😛

Before agreeing to go for battle, Kumbhkaran gave sagely advice to Ravan as follows: -

These consquences were imagined by us earlier during our consultation. It is faced by you know, due to your utter disregard of the words spoken by your well-wishers. You did not think of this, only because of your sheer arrogance of power. He who, abiding in power, performs duties to be done earlier at a later stage and duties to be done later, at an early stage, does not know what is a right course and what is a wrong course. Action done perversely, regardless of space and time, get spoiled like offering oblations without properly making the fire well-prepared.

He, who acts according to an agreement done with his counsellors, considering three types of actions through five means, moves along a right course.
The three types of actions are: -
1) Conclusion of peace through conciliation.
2) Acceptance of allegiance through gift.
3) Invasion, as a method of coercion.

The five means are:-
1) The method of initiating an actions.
2) Personality and material to be worked upon.
3) Time and place of action.
4) Provision against bad luck
5) Chances of success

A king who wishes to execute an agreement as per law, understands it through his own intellect as well as the counsellors and discovers it through his friends, is on a right course. O king of demons! A man resorts to virtue or worldly gain or pleasure or all the three together or a twin combination of virtue and worldly gain or virtue and pleasure or worldly gain and pleasure or worldly gain and pleasure, according to an appointed time.

That sovereign king or crown prince, who, having heard which one is the best out of these three but does not keep it in mind, his extensive learning would be in vain. Whosoever takes a decision after consultation with his counsellors, and performs the act of giving gifts or sowing dissension at appropriate occasion or exhibits strength or resorts to them all together, that intelligent person never confronts a misfortune in this world.

A sovereign has to do an act here, looking into his welfare as a consequence along with his counsellors who make their living by their intelligence and who understand the true state of the things. Men with brutal ideas, who are initiated in discussions, aspire to tell haughty things, without fully knowing the meanings of the scriptures.

The words spoken by those who did not know the scriptures, who do not recollect the books dealing with practical life and who covet for abundant wealth are not to be implemented. Those men who talk with audacity, some inimical things in a friendly way, are to be kept out of deliberations, as they certainly spoil the work to be done.

Some counsellors, colluding with some learned adversaries, spoil their king and make them do wrong deeds. The king should make-out those ministers who have been transformed by the enemy to their side and are enemies though looking like friends.

Outsiders find out the fickleness of a ruler, who is led away by false appearances and hurriedly does anything. A king who disregards an enemy and does not protect himself, indeed faces disappointing occurrences and would be removed from his position. That advice which was tendered to you earlier by vibhishana is beneficial to us. Do whatever you wish to do.

In the above post, the last sentence is "Do whatever you wish to do."
This shows that Kumbhkaran knew his limitations well. He knew that, even though he was very strong, he was not the king. His elder brother was the king. Kumbhkaran's duty was to give good advice to Ravan and final decision had to be taken by Ravan. Therefore, after giving advice, Kumbhkaran says "do whatever you wish to do" meaning that now Ravan should take a decision.
