frds,what do you think?after seeing this topic?fine.i'll explain you. i think you know that,mamunivar vashishtji had kept the name to our lord.but how?? just think......................he had learned the name ram from his guru.it was just a shrt story.. 
vashisht muni's guru will always say rama rama rama.vashisht muni hearing all this one day he went asked his guru that,"guruji,why are you always telling 'rama rama '?who is that?"
for his ques.guru replied"vashisht,ram is an ideal man who is going to take birth in ayodhya.
he is the avatar of lord vishnu.if you also chant rama ,one day you will also become like me."
after a long period,vashishtji kept the name"ram".
another thing is,
"NARAYANA" NAMASHIVAYA"--in this 2 manthras the main letters are:-
NARAYANA-RA &NAMASHIVAYA-MA-------joint these what will you get?😊😊
so,the moral is,if we chant lord ram,both the shivji&vishnuji's blessings we get.
