Thanks for letting me know about Lakshman, as I did not know he had vowed to kill Bharata. It is still a bit shocking to me since Bharat was Lakshman's elder brother, but I guess no one was greater for him than Lord Ram, but one thing from the epic is that Lakshman became immediately appeased when Lord Ram calmed him down, but here in the episode he tells Rama that he doesn't care what he says. He won't forgive Bharata. Ram and Sita both tried to reason with Lakshmana, but Lakshmana walks away angrily, whereas in the epic he became appeased. Wouldn't that count as disobeying his brother's comnand? I did not like the attitude of Lakshman shown here. No matter his anger, Lord Ram always managed to calm Lakshman down.

As for Manthara, she would not be punished by Ram or his brothers for the same reason they would not punish Kaikeyi. In fact, Kaikeyi was the one who actually asked the boons. Manthara's only fault was that she instigated Kaikeyi, but in the eyes of law, the perpetrator's crimes are always worse than the crimes of those who instigated them. If Lord Ram was so merciful towards Kaikeyi and forgave her, why would he punish Manthara who was also a medium used by fate? Bharat, who is the epitome of Dharma, would not punish Manthara when he did not punish his mother. Manthara's crimes were less than Kaikeyi's crimes because Kaikeyi actually carried them out. Manthara only gave her the idea. SO I do not buy that Manthara was ever imprisoned or exiled from Ayodhya, for the same reason that Kaikeyi was never imprisoned or exiled. Tha Raghuvanshis were known for their justice and they would not punish one person while letting the other go innocent. That is not Dharma.

Here is Manthara's role in the Ramayana as per Valmiki. Here Bharat never imprisoned her. Instead he stopped Shatrughan and protected Manthara, just like any other Raghuvanshi who were known for their justice.

Manthara appears only once in the Ramayan after Rama's banishment. Having been rewarded by Kaikeyi with costly clothing and jewels, she is walking in the palace gardens when Bharata and his half-brother Shatrughna come upon her. Seeing her, Shatrughna flies into a violent rage over Rama's banishment, and assaults her murderously. Kaikeyi begs Bharata to save her, which he does, telling Shatrughna that it is a sin to kill a woman, and that Rama would be furious with them both if he does such a thing. He relents and the brothers leave, while Kaikeyi attempts to comfort Manthara.^[6]

yea just now i went n watched ram lakshman scene coz all r discussing it so much...
its true he got angry..but he dint angrily walked away from there...infact did u noticed he sheds tears..he feels helpless there and goes away..thats how i took it..his walking away never came across as disrespect...

@arti : wow am impressed..u know so many things in detail..what we would have done without you..dont u ever leave AT..varna me the illiterate soul about scriptures cant answer such things 😆

haan yaar dunno about xyz but definetly doing phd on lakshmanji thts y wen lakshman anger is shown here i think arrr only this much😕 valmiki and tulsidas ji to protrayed him like indian hulk😆 and man ppl use to fear him😳 and do u know only shree ram could tame lakshmana anger and vice versa yup wen lord rama became angry only lakshmana could confront him 😆such a unqiue chemistry and here they are wasting everything on tht ravana 🥱
