By Banasura, you mean the same Banasura who alongside Shiva & Kartikeya fought & was trounced by Krishna, and whose daughter Usha abducted and married Krishna's grandson Anirudha? That Banasura?

Vidyutjeev is right from Valmiki, as is Vedavati, but then again, this serial doesn't seem to use Valmiki @ all, the disclaimer notice notwithstanding.

nope its different... the one we saw in ramayana epi who came to abduct sitaji its written in valmiki banasur and ravana had attended sita swayamvar's ...after tht banasur finds importance in himachal and up folk tales it is said tht banasur took sita's form and came to abduct sitaji but lakshman noticed him he threatened him and banasur fell in the feet of lord rama he than ran to himalayas and with the blessings of lord rama became rain god there... there is bana tribe in himachal tht worship banasur their folklore says tht supernakha ravana's sister married banasur and ravana agreed to the wedding alliance as he was interested in banasur kingdom and in wedding night ravana killed banasur...and then supernakha went to rama to seek revenge...some say supernakha devised whole plan with ravana she conspired to kill her own husband and later on she stayed at the forest near panchvati...and then she met lord rama

You got me laughing, really. Who told you that Maa Sita was a damsel in distress? Acting like a damsel in distress & being a damsel in distress are two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT things. Queen Mandodari understood this way back when it was happening live & told her husband Raavan that while you, like an idiot, believe that you have abducted Sita, truth is Sita has actually come to lanka of her own volition to finish off you, your whole family and your kingdom. also, when Shri Hanuman meets her in Ashok vatika & says that he can take her out of Lanka & to Shri Ram immediately, Maa Sita refuses and tells him to ask Shri Ram to come to lanka asap & finish off Raavan & all his tamsic forces. now, a "damsel in distress" would look for first opportunity to get out of that distressful situation, and here the Supreme Mother is ready to wait till her husband arrives.

if you asked that question in jest, it's OK, and as I said, you got me laughing. Otherwise, I'll strongly suggest you brush up your understanding of Maa Sita, the Supreme Mother and the cause of all causes, whom Rig Ved praises thus,
"O auspicious Bhagvati Sita! We bow down to you. O Supreme Deity Sita, please be compassionate-hearted towards us."

Again, recall that sage Valmiki, the first one to record Shri SitaRam's divine leelas elaborately (remember, Rig Ved gives us probably the most concise version of Ramayan, though it bows down before Shri Ram at many places) has said, in most clear cut terms, that the divine leelas of Maa Sita is the primary aspect of Ramayan, the incidents like elimination of Raavan & his tamsic forces are merely secondary occurances. In fact, sage Valmiki goes ahead and calls Ramayan as "Sita-charitam."

excuse me...read various sites... wikipedia and other critical analysis on ramayana the ppl have stressed on the word damsel in distress for sitaji...the one who silently borne all the unjust on her...never retaliated...tht is wht i have read... i asked the member genuinely and this is not the way to start the discussion tht too for the first time...probably u have read the whole epic on sitamaa but tht doesnt give u the liberty to laugh at other ignorance...if someone is asking the question either reply it in the humble manner or just ignore it...i havent cracked a joke or something ...

Chill.😊 I said "you got me laughing" now that's a good thing, I guess. if you are making someone laugh, what's wrong with that? if you are to tell me one of these days on this forum (provided that I remain here) that some remark of mine, or some question that I asked, got you laughing, I'll fell good about it actually. Secondly, I said I am unsure whether you are asking that question in jest or are you really confused, and so I answered that she was not a "damsel in distress." I further suggested that you read more about her. again, I suggested that in a positive manner. so I can't really see why you thought I am making fun of you?? as for me knowing more than you about Maa Sita, nowhere I suggested anything like that. I said you read further, this doesn't imply that I've already read all about her, and that I know everything!!
Finally, reading wikipedia to understand Maa Sita, I daresay, is an exercise in futility. Again, I'll suggest, when trying to understand the Divine Mother, read the scriptures that matter. If you wish to pass a medical entrance examination, reading the book of nursery rhymes won't help your cause much.
All said & done, if you can take my word for it, trust me, making fun of somone is the last thing I''ll do.😊

Yeah, I'm an ill-mannered bloke.😆

Two things.
1. Why should I contact those innumerable bloggers & writers & intellectuals & scholars who are writing articles on Ramayan? As of today, I am NOT on a mission to increase humanity's understanding of Lord Ram & Maa Sita!!
2. I was wondering on this forum & saw your question. Unable to decide whether you are joking or asking, I tried to answer it, and assuming that you wish to know more, strongly suggested that you read more, starting with Vedic hymns to Maa Sita. That's all that is there to it. Now that I know that you don't wish to read anything, that's it.

Finally, got to go now, & no idea when I'll be back. So if you find something wrong with this post too, and wish to confront me on that, I suggest you report my posts to the moderators and let them do the needful, for I am unsure when I'll be back to reply to you.

"u shouldnt strongly suggest something unless the person is in frndly terms its the second rule to talk to strangers"

so y did u quote me... y me?????

On a general basis, when you include questions like, "why me?" in your post, don't expect it to be the last one on the discussion. What's more, I've answered that 420 times in the course of last 2 posts!! So it's getting tiring. So to repeat myself 421st time, I was roaming around the place, saw your post, thought you were jesting, so laughed, and told you so, but on the 50% chance that were seriously asking, tried answering it, too. If one day I'll reach the innumerable blogs and sites you are telling me about, maybe I'll write something in their comments section, too. Who knows, I may already have done that in the past. As you keep reminding me, we are strangers, so you don't know what I've been up to.

i m pretty sure i m not going to reply any further coz i know the third and most imp rule to talk to strangers " stop discussing if it is leading to an worthless arguements."...

Are you the 'rules-instructor-cum-etiquette-enforcer' around here? Asking because I am new here.

Anyways, yours "no-use-prolonging-a-worthless-argument" is a good decision. Let's see if you stick to it.
