I have no concerns with anyone having an opinion (as you know from my other posts! 😉), but I just feel bad for the girl ... so many people are judging her and something inside tells me that she might actually want to find someone ... she might actually be genuine!

Thank you creating this topic and helping me to realise my flaw. I agree that we ought not to judge her and make assumptions as that is the one complaint that poor Rakhi has always had against the public. I genuinely apologise for that as Rakhi may be sincere but i just doubt the intentions of the guys. I do not feel Rakhi will find a deserving husband this way, she has already tolerated enough in life and i do not want to see her face disappointment again. She could just have easily have announced she was looking for prospects and had carried out the same process privately. It is not her intentions that are not noble, it is the way they are being conducted.

Are we meant to learn to let women have more liberty in choosing their life partners from the format of this show, when they make a mockery of it by having pointless games like arm wrestling or writing love letters. She wants someone who will be romantic, fine but like Raman said where is the serious discussion of what married life with Rakhi will be like. He was the only one that raised a valid point that it is not only Rakhi that needs to discover them as individuals, they need to face the real Rakhi too.

I agree that some arranged marriages go ahead with very little interaction between the married couple to be and nowadays more emphasis ought to be put on allowing the people to understand each other before taking such a decision, yet where does this call for public viewing. She is opening herself up for ridicule. You may be able to persuade a few to be more careful about how they express their views but will it change their opinion of Rakhi, if Rakhi herself cannot.

Plus, whether you have an old-fashioned view or not, some basics should be covered when matching an alliance like background, personal views, man's capability to provide and so on. Rakhi is not being entirely specific about what she wants other than a loving guy who is agaisnt dahej. Otherwise, she is open to anyone who is genuine and honest. I admire her bravery for that but for someone who has endured as much as her, who has been betrayed, would you not be more cautious and guarded when taking such a serious step in life.

I say put all the guys under a lie detector test first and then proceed with the show.

I apologise if i have offended anyone with my views, it was not my intention. I respect the views of all members. I hope what i was trying to say was conveyed properly as i tend to have a hard time expressing myself correctly.

@samirah23: Thank you for your kind words but i am more grateful to you for sparking my introspection. It is a true reflection of the mature, intellectual and reasonable individual you are, to call for a serious discussion of a show so many others easily mock. 🤗

But, did anyone think that maybe Rakhi is serious about this - I mean, we are criticizing her for having her swayamvar and meeting with so many guys. But, in many arranged marriages, the girl may get only to sit with the guy for a short while and then say yes or no to spending her entire life with him. So, shouldn't she know the guy before marrying him?
Why does everyone think that Rakhi being sincere is such a long shot?

thank u very much ..👏 ...... .. badly wanted to see at least one sensible post on this forum..😃

Well, it's a TV show and people can express their thoughts. It's just timepass, after all. At the same time, it's one thing to make silly comments, but it's another to talk about character, culture, and all of that. None of us have the authority over another person to dictate right and wrong that way.

I don't think Rakhi really needs our sympathy though, she does have tons of fans, and I think she probably knows what she is doing. She has had a way of knowing about the guys that were already eliminated.. they were not genuine and she could see that. Also, she is used to being a public personality, so I don't think she will be affected by the kind of comments that people make.

Thank you Samirah for making this post. Everyone doesn't have to love Rakhi, but we can stop ourselves from making derogatory comments about her. I mean, everyone on this forum has a right to an opinion, but there is a limit to what one should say.

I wonder if as people, we are so pure and good that we can judge another human being in a harsh manner?
Please, no offence meant to anyone, just felt like I had to say what I said.

agree with topic starter
Rakhi doesnt know how to be stylised n polished n she doesnt know (fake but) classy-looking behavior....but she is not artificial
apart frm wht we think of her....i think we all shd appreciate the fact tht she took such a step....
Also, note tht she is not creating any controversies on RKS and she looks so demure n coy on this show..... i appreciate her on just this fact

Hi - this is exactly what I meant, and I am gald you put it in an eloquent way! No one has to like her, or agree with what she is doing. Everyone can voice their opinion, but it is the language and the accussations that are concerning me. I don't feel I have a right to speak this way against others ... I hope some of you feel this way too.
Again, not to say we can talk about the negatives and the positives, but I would like everyone to think about how they are saying it cause we don't have the rights to judge others!

Maybe i crack a lot of jokes...but I mentioned in a topic or two that I do have a lot of respect for rakhi. A person who left her own studies just to earn money to educate their siblings & do something for her family...it is really very appreciable in my opinion. Maybe she's not that educated, but you all should know by now that she's really intelligent and talented. So i do respect her. I am not sure if this show is scripted, fake or not...it could be real. But for some reason I just CAN'T trust these guys in the show. They all look really fake. And I want rakhi to get what she wants...not fake stuffs.
