Krishna is considered as the God of love , he loved all living beings in this universe as his close associates, his main reason to touch this earth is to teach the intricacies of love to the mankind! Surprisingly love always searched for him , called him , adored him , married him , lived with him as his many consorts /maidens , won over him , played a vital role in his life ,in all this war and peace with love , he searched for selfless love and ultimately realised that he get that boon only from Radha , though the entire universe loves him like a companion, Sakha and longing for his love , but did not provide selfless love to that God of love except Radha !-- That is my point of view regarding Radha !

Most of the people here have given references from smritis and Tantras. But Radha is mentioned in one of the 108 muktika canon Upanishads. Namely Gopala Tapani Upanishad

The central character of this Upanishad is Radha who is described as the Shakti of Krishna, her devotion and Dedication of Gopala Krishna. Krishna is presented as identical to the nondual Absolute Reality (Atman-Brahman), the sat-cit-ananda, the Guru, the Om and the object of Vedanta, who can be reached by devotion to love. It is an important text to the Vaiava schools of Hinduism, particularly the Gaudiya Vaishnavas of Bengal region.

People should stop believing in these modern-day mythologists, who use Hindu holy books for entertainment!I feel it is not entertainment , it is a torture for us , degrading Radha and her love ... pathetic really !

First of all , according to many scriptures , Radha was elder than Krishna [ that's why she was his love Guru !] and by the time she met Krishna , she was already married, still waiting for the Divine lover ! The curse and previous Golok story and Radha forgetting about the past , --this was mentioned in 1 or 2 scriptures, to support the theory of Krishna moving away from her and never looked back after leaving the Brindavan! According to authentic sources, Radha was a distant relative of Nand , sister to him, married and living in the Brindavan with her less prominent husband Ayan . In one or two scriptures there was a mention of Radha having a daughter called Ila, but that story was written by a Dev Daasi[ Muddu Palani ]in 10th or 11th century , so we can ignore it ! But anywhere in the Puranas or in Upanishads , there was no mention of Sudevi and her dubious marriage and Radha quarreling with and questioning Krishna!!I respect a writer's freedom and if they started the story with that curse story [ many loopholes in that story !!] and if they want to show Radha as the same age girl with Krishna , its fine, but making her ignorant regarding love and hating and torturing Krishna is more than fun !😲

Who is Radha ? What is her relationship with her Kanha? According to me ---

Silence is just like a hymn... spreading the serenity in those surroundings. She is free in her wildness... Radha is a wanderess , a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares, nothing of rules or customs. 'Time' for her isn't something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like a scented breeze.

A song of prayer is transforming into a poetry of desire there ! Radha asking her Krishna.." must you still evade me, my dear, must you? You may be beyond the grasp of the Universe; the sun and the nectar cool moon are maybe just your two eyes, but still, must you evade me? You are everything, and everything is you. I know it , still I searched everywhere for you , but in vain, then I searched within for you my heart , I found you there ! You suffused my thoughts, I have abandoned everything for you; Come ,Krishna , rescue me from my loneliness --Must you still evade me, my dear, must you?" -she was sitting there in her favorite niche on the river bank like a queen of the world and laughing gleefully with her Krishna ! With a handful of flowers she was praying for a divine union with Krishna with words unspoken, she led a quiet exchange of vows with those little blooms in her hand , taking seven steps silently around the aroused desire as a fire there with her Krishna . Her joy in receiving his acceptance had no bounds! She was listening to the Yaman Kalyan rag from his Bansuri in her dreamy world !--

@Madhuri exceptionally well written piece ..totally agree with u...
u said right...Our Mytho has rich heritage ..people need to read it to know ...today's writer only know Spice n messed up every story for entertainment n playing with characters...
We may like them certain point but those r not everything...
sec we can adjust n understand certain point of fiction like in first epi of the show regarding Golok or couple of epi more regarding Age of Radha Krishna..but what is showing now is beyond anything..
Execution too poor messed up story with Radha's character..
m not able to connect with her n her view ...
she is preaching about family prestige yet destroying it bad
She is preaching about honesty yet advised sudevi against it
she has agenda no 1 do everything against Krishna blame him accuse him for even breathing now...

n CVS inserting this story even for good reason but again didn't execute it properly ...

we always gave her benefit of doubt

but this particular track has has given valid reasons to vent it out a bit...

all different POV are welcome 😊

Lets then discuss Radha here ... Tushu we can rename this as 'Radha Diacussion Thread'
We can analyze real radha and criticize CV's Radha here ...👏

Loved it in the other thread , posting my point here

For me Radha Krishn are mirror images of eachother.
I got impressed by the promos of this show... where Radha and Krishna were shown to be mirroring eachother ...lost in love ...that is lost in each other..thats why I joined this forum with great expectations

Radha might have been older ..but she never fought with Krishn anywhere
She did get angry /annoyed when he stole their clothes at the river side ..broke their matkas full of milk/butter/curds when they were carrying them on their heads for selling at mathura or stole their makhan from their homes .
All villagers used to chase them away with sticks but none shouted at them or used any bad words ..and Radha NEVER did
Her mind might have forgotten but her soul knew him n loved him .

Thank you Janaki and Diksha for liking my views regarding Radha's characterization. 🤗

In those days the girls were bold and it was a free society, and Sudevi denying Vairav is the most stunning part! That too after all that planning and hiatus! No mother-in-law or any husband from Nandgoan questioned any lady , why she was roaming with Krishna on the riverbank or in the countryside! I don't think there was a huge distance between Brindavan and Barsana! And the punishments to the young lads in those days were different, this 100 lashes and banishment is surprising!

I agree this whiplashing thing was a punishment given by the kings to defaulters of the law
Not by the village heads to any villager
Why would a villager during those days ..whose main job was dairy farming ,..even posess a whip !!
this is just creative freedom to show what ever theyfeel will sensationalise the scene 😡

I believe Golok Radha was exactly how Radharani should be,i.e,compassionate and full of love. She was the source of love itself.
Barsana Radha is a totally different case. She appears to me as an opinionated and judgemental girl.Like I understand if she has forgotten about Krishna and is yet to experience romantic love and understand it.
But even if you don't love anyone yourself there needs to be a basic level of sensitivity and empathy towards others which this girl lacks. She appears as a rude and insensitive girl for most of the time who doesn't care about what others feel.

This Radha is behaving like Big B's character Narayan Shankar from Mohabbatein who is totally anti love and romance.Ab bas woh Gurukul ke teen stambh waala dialogue hi baaki hai.Woh bhi bulwado isse.
Barsana ke teen stambh hai.Parampara,Pratishtha,Anushasan.

Whereas our Kanha is Raj Aryan who is fighting for a lost cause and getting hurt

thing is someone who has not experienced romantic love herself, has no past painful experience and has not seen someone suffering because of love, is this level of pessimism and skepticism believable on her part

see her approach in regards to krishna's talked about lover.. she says she has to RESCUE that girl... she is playing an activist here. the said girl's wisdom is of no value here.

during vairav's whip lashing, she first outrageously shamed krishn for relishing it, then when sudevi stood up and stopped ayan, she was the one to jump there and ask 'ye kya kar rahi ho sudevi'

today she passed off her own problem of father's unhappiness as plight of entire village 😆

@bold - bang on example 👏
