So the source is from Vedas and the writer was Ved Vyas , means authentic and original.
The interesting part of it is -- Lord Krishna predicted the upcoming impiety in the society will reach its peak which will lead to total destruction, i.e the Yuganth!
And the only authentic scripture about Radha Krishna love and their incarnation on earth as the Divine couple to define the true love .
It's the twelfth Purana. It contains four parts- Brahma khand, Prakriti khand, Ganesh khand and Shri Krishna Janma khand. This Purana describes the plays of the Lord Krishna and Radha in considerable detail. Thus, it is a basic source of inspiration for all the subsequent treatises thatdepict the life of Radha. It is only Purana that exclusively describes the episodes from the life of Radha, the most beloved lady of Lord Shri Krishna.
And another important point here is -- the Radha Krishna love gained prominence through the melodious songs [keerthanas ] written by Jayadev , --some argued that he was from Bengal but some said he was from Orissa , and he was lived in between 16th and 17th centuries, and one more poetic description was from South -- Radhika Swanthanam, written by Muddu Palani [ a Devdasi ] which dealt with the issue of --Ila was Radha's daughter who loved Krishna and she married him , when preparing her for their first night , the entire scripture was the description of the sorrow of Radha for sacrificing her love for the sake of her daughter [ I feel it is not convincingly correct and in a way a damage to the Divine couple and their pious love story ] .
Later many writers and saints described this Divine love in their own ways added much interest to this story !
