I think that Dilshad's character was sometimes not as important as what she really deserves so this is a little twist of Tanveer's attack, hope you'll enjoy :)
Dilshad saw her little Tamatar bathing in her own blood and she was beyond shock and rage. Her own child was killed. She died alone in this bathroom..
"As..Asad! Asad!" She cried in pain while she got out of the bathroom and ran to Asad's room. She arrived in front of the room and found Asad and Zoya wounded and laying on the floor. Then she saw her. The reason of her pain. Tanveer.
She stopped Sanam from going to her parents and left from there. She was going to leave the house when her heart clutched in her ribcage.
'You can do something Dilshad, you can save them.' She thought. She kissed her little Sanam and went back in Asad's room with a knife in her hand. Without thinking twice, she stabbed Tanveer on her back as she was going to stab Asad.
"My children, never!" She said as Tanveer fell on the floor.
"You took Najma and Rashid from me but I won't allow you to take Zoya and Asad from their children and from me!" She said and took the knives from Tanveer's reach and called the police. And ambulances.
"Ammi..It's too late.." Zoya stuttered but Dilshad shushed her.
"Nothing is too late Zoya."
15 minutes later ambulances came and drove Asad and Zoya to the hospital. Tanveer died before they arrived. When the ambulances came, Dilshad went to pick her grandchildren.
"Seher!" She shouted, not finding the little girl. She told the police about Seher missing and at night, everybody in Bhopal was looking for the little girl as they were all aware of the tragedy that occurred in Siddiqui Mansion.
Dilshad went back to Khan Villa with Sanam and Hayaa at night and when they were sleeping, she finally broke down in tears. She looked at her hands in horror.
"These hands killed someone today.." She sobbed. To say that she was shocked was an understatement.
The poor woman faced the death of her daughter, she saved her son and daughter-in-law by killing someone and she lost her granddaughter.
A week later.
Dilshad was still praying for her children. Three days earlier, she had to say goodbye to Najma and both Asad and Zoya were in a coma. Even though all Bhopal was looking for Seher, they didn't find her still so she had concluded that she was probably dead. She knew that it would be hard for her to say it to Zoya and Asad once they'd wake up from their coma but it would kill them to know that they had lost a daughter.
"Badi ammi?" Sanam came in Dilshad's room crying.
"Sanam? Kya hua?" Dilshad asked but she knew what would be her answer.
"Seher?" She just enquired. Dilshad hugged her tightly.
"Badi ammi has already told you that Seher is going to come back. She's just..on a trip.."
"With Ayaan uncle?" Sanam asked.
"Yes. With Ayaan uncle.." She lied.
"But I want to go too!" She pouted and Dilshad kissed her forehead while tears were slowly streaming down her face.
Dilshad got up and went to feed her grandchildren. Hayaa and Sanam ate then they went to sleep. Like every hour, Dilshad called the inspector to know if they had found anything about her little Seher.
"Inspector Saab? Did you find anything about my little Seher?" She asked with a sad tone. The inspector was clearly broken to hear Dilshad's voice. He knew all the bad things she went through. And he also knew how she'll react on hearing what just happened.
"Mrs Khan, actually..hum..I..we found something."
"You found Seher? You found my baby!"
"Yes..huh, we just got called. A little girl who look like your granddaughter Seher Ahmed Khan got hit by a car. She has been transferred to the same hospital as your son and daughter-in-law." He said.
"Ya Allah!" Dillshad gasped. "I'm coming!" She exclaimed and hung up. She first went to her neighbour to ask her if she could look after Sanam and Hayaa.
"Don't worry Mrs Khan. You can go. I'll look after your grandchildren. Inchallah, all your family will be fine."
"Thank you Aziza." Dilshad said and then she left to the hospital.
When Dilshad arrived to the hospital, she was guided by a cop to Seher's room.
"This is the girl Mrs Khan." The cop said nonchalantly and Dilshad almost wanted to kill him. She was only a little girl for God's sake! He could at least show some pity!
Dilshad entered the room.
She broke down on seeing the little body in this giant bed.
"Se.. Seher!" She cried. She didn't know if they were happy tears or tears of sadness.
She held the little hand of her baby girl and kissed it a thousand times.
"My little angel! You're finally here!" she sobbed. The inspector who had arrived a while earlier looked at the scene and he put his hand on Dilshad's shoulder to show his support.
"Thank you Mr Maher."
"You don't have to thank me Mrs Khan. I just did my job. Now you can relax. I just talked with the doctors. Seher is okay, she is just weak because of these few days on her own, she hasn't eaten and she hasn't drunk water as much as a baby should but they're taking care of that. Luckily, the car wasn't driving fast so she's not badly injured. She should wake up by tomorrow." Mr Maher said and Dilshad sighed happily. In the morning, Dilshad was sleeping next to Seher when the little girl woke up. Seher caressed her face and kissed her forehead. Dilshad woke up next and seeing her granddaughter smiling sleepily at her brought tears in Dilshad's eyes.
"How are you baby?" Dilshad asked kissing her nose.
"Mom..Sanam..Daddy...?" She said and Dilshad hugged her tightly.
"Sanam will come to see you but you need to rest okay?" She said sadly. Seher began sobbing and Dilshad engulfed her into a hug.
"No don't cry, please don't cry, I'll do everything to keep you and our family okay." Dilshad said sobbing.
A week later.
As Seher had left the hospital and she was strong enough, Dilshad decided to bring Seher, Sanam and Hayaa to visit Zoya and Asad who were still in a coma. They were in the room and Seher and Sanam were holding their parents' hands, Seher was holding Zoya's hand while Sanam was holding Asad's. The reason of Dilshad's choice was that the doctors had decided to pull Asad and Zoya off life support at night as there weren't changes since they came at hospital.
"Wake up now!" Both exclaimed, Sanam caressing her father's face was Seher was brushing her mother's shoulder.
"Please Zoya, Asad, you can leave us! I've found Seher! Do you hear me?! I've found Seher! You can leave Seher and Sanam! And what about Hayaa! She needs you! She needs you as much as Seher and Sanam need their parents! Please don't!!" Dilshad said and collapsed on the ground crying. Hayaa hugged her crying while AsYa's twins were also crying on the beds as they saw their badi ammi crying.
And then a miracle occurred. In fact, as if they finally were aware of their family's pain, Asad and Zoya, slowly woke up at night when they were going to be pulled off the life support. Dilshad would remember this moment for the rest of her life. When the doctors were ready to pull them off the life support, both finally gave a sign that they were alive, Zoya by saying "Asad" and Asad by saying "Zoya" as if they were asking to each other to continue fighting.
13 Years later
"We were once asked who was our favourite her. You know this type of question which is just annoying because you have to chose. " Seher began a speech.
"When Seher, Hayaa and I did this little homework, we would have never imagined that we would have the same answer. In fact, our answer was "Badi ammi." Sanam continued.
"You must wonder why, as some children would mainly answer ammi or abbu. The reason why we chose badi ammi as our favourite hero is simple. Badi ammi, is a courageous, a wonderful and a respectful woman. You all may know the tragic past of our family. But you may not be aware that my badi ammi was a heroin." Seher said.
"In fact my badi ammi faced the death of her husband Rashid, her daughter, my phuphi Najma Qureishi, she saw her son and daughter-in-law being stabbed to death, and she didn't fear to protect her family. She had put all her strength into her family just to see this same family destroyed by some crazy woman."
"Nor Sanam, Hayaa and I remember this dark past, but we know that badi ammi forgot her pain to look after us. She was right by ammi's side when ammi discovered that this drama, led to her infertility as she had been injured in the womb. We've seen ammi losing her happiness, her smile, but they came back thanks to badi ammi's support with her happiness and smile came Aliya and Zaid, our little siblings."
"Despite her weak health and after all she went through, badi ammi didn't hesitate into giving a kidney to abbu, without it, my father would have been dead." Sanam said sobbing.
"Unfortunately, today she's the one who left us. After her battle against cancer, she's finally resting in peace with the loved ones she had lost. Dilshad Ahmed Khan was the best woman in the world, she remains the pillar of this family no matter what because to this family, she's the glue which keeps us together, and I'm proud to be her grandchild. May Allah blesses her."
Sanam, Seher and Hayaa were engulfed in a hug by Zoya and Asad as they were crying.
But on the heaven, someone was smiling. Dilshad was smiling on seeing that her family was united.
