Hey guys it's me Dua I'm backđł
Azaad dashed towards her as fast as he could. He could feel his heart almost ripping out of his chest as he noticed her color drained face tilted to the side as her fragile body was preparing to fall forward. He stretched his arm just in time allowing her to fall into his arms like a rag doll.
"Mahira!" He screamed her name as his fingers removed the strands of hair that covered her closed eyes.
"Mahira! What happened to you?! Answer me please!" He tapped the side of her cheek lightly in attempt to wake her up. But she didn't respond with anything. Without giving it a second thought, he quickly and carefully lifted her in his arms and hurried towards the door.
"Ami, I'm taking her to the hospital." He told Khan Begum as he exited the door.
Khan Begum crumpled her dupatta between her fingers, trying to cool the blood that was boiling in her veins.
Azaad came rushing back into the house suddenly.
"This is my chance." Khan Begum thought to herself.
Azaad came back clutching what looked like keys in his hand as he ran across the hall where Khan Begum was standing beside the sofa trying to hide the victorious look on her face.
"Azaad beta, call me when you reach the hospital. Don't leave me worried. Bechari Mahira." She spoke with fake concern.
He nodded his head as he quickly rushed out leaving behind Khan Begum who laughed her head off.
As he opened the car door, his eyes fell on the flat tire of the car. He turned around and noticed the other front tire flat too.
"Oh Allah, not now." He gripped on the car door as he peeked at Mahira who lay in the back seat of the car unconscious. He moved his legs towards her and opened the car door.
"You also have to pay." She had told him as her fingers curled around a medium sized bottle filled with some kind of clear liquid.
He was pulled back to the present when he felt something warm against the palm of his hands. Mahira's body was heating up like a kiln and more blue marks had started to appear on her neck now. He felt as if someone had pierced a knife thought his heart when he saw her condition deteriorating in front of him.
Khan Begum sat in her room celebrating the return of her powers that were slowly returning back to her. "A couple more minutes and I will rule this universe with my powers again." She spoke as she looked at herself in the mirror with a satisfying smile.
Azaad reached the farmhouse and placed Mahira on the only bed that existed in the small room. He scanned her face with his eyes and lifted his hand towards her cheek.
"What should I do?"
"You are the only light that tried to overtake the darkness of my life. You awakened things that I never knew existed within me. I'm a ruthless monster in everyone's eyes, but that's not what you see. You looked into my soul and touched it with your innocence. You can't leave me now. Not after you came into my life and changed it. Please... Please don't... leave m..."
"Pleas.. He paused when he noticed her finger moving in the palm of his hand and raised his head in a mere second towards her face. Her head shifted a little to the side as she breathed slowly. "Mahira! He yelled her name as she slowly opened her eyes and scanned the room in confusion. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders as he tried to make her sit in bed. "Are you feeling ok?" He asked, the concern and happiness evident in his voice.
"Wha...What happened to me?" she held on to his arm for support.
"I just remember feeling suffocated and my body burning as I tried to hold the stair's handrail for support." She examined the room she was in and noticed that the place was new to her.
"Where am I?"
Azaad moved his arms away from her as he spoke. "You're at my farmhouse." He spoke without meeting her eyes.
"Your farmhouse? Why am I at your farmhouse?"
"I couldn't take you to the hospital because the tires of my car were flat, so I had to bring you here and I called a doctor to see you." He lied in the latter.
"What did the doctor say?" she asked curiously.
"He couldn't quite know the reason for you sudden illness, but he said you will be fine if you take rest."
He continued to speak without looking into her eyes.
"Can you look at me while you talk please?" She tilted her face towards his direction.
He hesitantly looked at her, "You take rest now while I prepare something for you to eat."
She noticed his puffed eyes and wet eyelashes. "Were...Were you crying?" She asked surprised.
He quickly shifted his eyes away from her direction. "N...No there is nothing like that. I... just splashed my face with water." He walked towards the door before she could ask him anything else.
"Kitna ajeeb hai woh. I can never figure him out." She lifted the light blanket away from her body, when she noticed it wet.
"Why did he lie then? I should show him this blanket to prove his lie."
"Nah..." She brushed the idea away.
"He still won't confess, he would come up with another lie, maybe he would say I gave the blanket a wash along with my face. Hahaha" She laughed at her own joke.
Azaad came back to the room with a tray of food in his hands. He placed the tray on the table and raised the plate of soup between his hands as he sat at the edge of the bed.
"You have to eat, to regain your energy back." He lifted a filled spoon and placed it before her lips.
"It's ok, I can eat on my own." She moved her hand and let out a small yelp. Her arms and whole body ached. It felt like someone had beat her with a baseball bat.
Azaad placed his hand on her shoulder.
"He actually cares for me." She spoke to herself as she saw him leave the room. "He brought me to his farmhouse, he cried for me, and now he's taking care of me."
"Why doesn't he tell me though?" She wondered as she tried to think of the possible reason.
"His ego." She replied to her own question.
"A guy who can't say please and sorry Mahira, how is he supposed to say he cares about a simple girl like me."
Azaad returned to the room once again and found Mahira staring at him with interest.
"What?" He eyed her suspiciously.
"Nothing." She tried to act normal."
"You should sleep now, it's getting late. We can't go back home because I don't have a car and you're still in no condition to move around."
He stretched a mat beside the bed.
"Are... are you going to sleep in this room too?" She looked at him.
"This is the only room here, but if you're not comfortable I can stay outside."
"No!" She almost screamed.
"I... I mean I would feel better because...you know I'm not used to sleeping by myself." She added to divert the tension in the atmosphere.
"Good night Mr. Azaad." She turned her face the other side as she covered herself in the blanket.
"Good night" He stretched his long legs across the mat and stared at the celling of the room before closing his eyes.
In the middle of the night, he woke up in surprise as he heard a thud and something descending over him. He parted his eyelashes and caught of glimpse of Mahira lying asleep on top of him. She was still in deep sleep and hadn't felt when she rolled off the bed.
The sun ripped through the clouds shining its rays across the beautiful blue sky.
Mahira woke up to find Azaad in the small kitchen preparing something to eat.
"Good morning." She cocked her head towards the direction of the kitchen.
"Good morning." Azaad replied back as he spread butter over a toast that settled in the palm of his hand.
"Much better." She said with a smile.
"I will freshen up and come." She moved towards the bathroom door.
In about 20 minutes she appeared at the kitchen door and Azaad felt her presence.
"Breakfast is rea..." He paused as his eyes fell on the angel that stood in the doorway.
She had just gotten out of the shower and was dressed in one of his black shirts that reached only to her knees, revealing her sexy legs. Wet locks hugged the sides of her face as the drops of water trailed down her neck and into her chest. His eyes stayed fixed on her while his breath was caught in his throat. Silence invaded the atmosphere as he continued to admire her beauty. She noticed his eyes lingering on her and her cheeks gave a tint of pink.
I'm... I'm sorry I didn't have anything else to wear." She spoke to break the silence.
He caught himself ogling at her and shyly turned his gaze away.
"I need to get out of here. I'm afraid I might lose control if I stay with her any longer." He thought to himself.
She pushed the chair slowly and seated herself down. They ate their meal and nothing was discussed as they secretly peeked at each other.
After finishing their meal they both got ready to leave and headed out. A blue car was parked outside the farmhouse.
"I called my friend and he sent someone with this car."
"Don't worry he left the place because I told him I will be driving the car back." He added when he noticed her uncomfortably holding on to the shirt she was wearing.
"Thank you." She smiled at him when she noticed he sent the guy away to avoid any awkwardness and discomfort for her.
They drove back home silently as both reminisced the time they both spent together. When they reached the mansion she opened the car door and stepped out and waited for him outside the door. He stepped out and faced her when he noticed she wanted to say something to him.
"Mr. Azaad thank you so much for taking care of me. I'm very grateful to you. You're truly a gentleman."
"Don't mention it." He spoke shyly as he stared anywhere but not at her. He wasn't used to someone appreciating him and he sure wasn't used to receiving any compliments.
She turned around to leave and stopped midway to face him again surprising him with her gesture. She leaned closer to him and gave him a hug. He felt her petite body against his and the palms of her hands hugging his back. A feeling of comfort and excitement washed over him. It felt heavenly to feel the touch of her body against his. His hands stayed in the air not sure whether to hug her back or place them down his side. Before he could make up his mind she muttered a thank you again and slowly broke the embrace. She smiled at him again before she turned back and headed inside.
"This girl is going to drive me insane here very soon." He thought to himself as he placed the earing in the left side of his pocket and entered the house.
