SaHil OS: Tears In Heaven
The rains were getting heavier. A potential thunderstorm was slowly making its way, in that dark night. The lightning kept striking, giving flickers of hope in between. She kept running around frantically, shouting his name on top of her voice. She kept searching for a sign of him, when she found him, lying there on his stomach. Everything around her almost stopped, when she took a look at his body lying there, powerless. Her shouts slowly turned into screeches, laced with devastation, destruction, guilt, fear, frustration...hope. "Aahilll!!! AAAHIILLL!!" as she went to him, running as fast as she could. Glimpses of him; flashing in front of her eyes, almost hazy, as if she is losing something. Something precious going away from her in the most gruesome way possible and she couldn't do anything to save it.
She reached to him and fell down on her knees beside him. She called out his name one last time before breaking down in cries of pure heartbreak. She was tired, exhausted, and still hopelessly hopeful. She cried and cried her heart out, remembering him, finally. She cried for not remembering him even at that time when she wasn't sure she would see him again. She cried for not remembering herself. She cried remembering all those hurtful things she said to him. She cried for why didn't she go with her heart. She cried why she didn't remember him. Her Aahil, her Aahil's Sanam, their Aahil-Sanam.
"I remember you Aahil! I remember everything! I remember me, you, us! Ya Allah! I love you Aahil! Please come back to me Aahil! Please, I am sorry Aahil! Please Aahil, aankhen kholiye na! Say something! Aap kuch bolte kyun nahi! Boliya na Aahil! I am here, aapki Sanam aapke paas hai! Aahil bas ek baar dekh toh lijiye! Sirf ek baar Aahil! AAAHILLL!!! " She yelled one last time as her cries slowly subsided to soft sobs, her voice barely audible to herself. She put her head down on his heart to listen to his heartbeats for one last time. "Bas ek baar Sanam boliye na Aahil! Sirf ek baa.." As the sobs kept breaking her voice.
The sky above and everything around, suddenly turned eerily quiet. The last drops of rain were the only things that could be heard in the silence. It was calm after the storm. She didn't know for how long she was there, lying on his chest, holding him tightly. For she was afraid, she might lose those last moments of warmth from him. Those arms, in which she always felt safe and home. The arms which always warmed her insides, which felt perfect when around her. The arms which always gave her faith...and hope. She held him a little tighter as she suddenly felt that warmth coming back again. A whisper of a name softly escaped her lips "Aahil." She felt like she just felt her heart beat again, or was it his?
"Sss..ss..anam.." A mumbling voice, croaked in her ear, as his hand moved a little bit. "Aahil!" A tiny twist of her lips formed a smile, almost like she was dreaming. A dream of him and her together, entwined in each other arms. She didn't want to open her eyes for this was too precious to let go. She thought she is finally home, where she belonged. Where she longed to be belonged, always. Fresh tears formed in her eyes, but none of those were of hurt, pain, anguish. Those tears were of and ending, a new beginning, of a destination to a journey, of finding herself, of finding Sanam back, Aahil's Sanam.
"Sanam." He called her name again, this time more clear. His eyes were still closed; he thought he is dreaming, like the dream of a strange new world forming in front of his eyes. He thought he heard his name from her lips, and like it was a reflex to respond to her, he called out to her. He thought they were together finally, in each other's arms, lying next to each other, breathing in each other's breaths, heartbeats in sync. His hand moved over her back as he held her tighter, still not wanting to open his eyes, for he might break a beautiful dream.
She felt his hand moved onto the back of her head as she murmured against his chest, "I love you Aahil! I love you." She felt she would break down again any moment, if she won't hear his voice now. "I love you too Sanam." She felt her eyes welling up again, hearing her name from his lips like he always used to call it. The amount of love, care and affection he has for her, made her clutch her heart as she couldn't control her tears. She clutched his shirt and cried. "Your back! Your back Aahil! Your here!"
He held her head and made her look at him, raising her head from his chest. She didn't want to leave that place, as she kept holding the lapels of his shirt tightly. "Don't leave me! Please! Don't let me go!" She pleaded between her tears. She brought her hand down to his face and held him. "Your back here! I love you Aahil! I am sorr.."
He looked at her crying self, the pain and worry in her eyes melted his heart. He wasn't sure if this was still a dream or not. Being close to his Sanam, finally, hearing those words from her mouth, seeing those tears in her eyes for him, made his heart clench in pain. But this pain was strangely, beautiful. She was here, with him, finally. He brought her face down to his and rested it against his forehead. "I won't Sanam! I won't! I won't ever leave you! Never! I love you, Sanam! I love you so much!" He cried as he pulled her close to him, holding her tight as ever. As he held her, he was sure this was no dream, this was real, all real. His reality was more beautiful than his dreams. His reality was her, his Sanam. And it's still is.
She held his face with her hands, as she smiled between her tears. This was no dream. She was here, with him, and he was back, for her. She didn't stop her tears, nor her smile, for she wasn't thinking anything, she wasn't able to. She was in the moment, with him. She felt herself at ease. She felt herself strong, yet vulnerable with him, if that was even possible. She involuntarily traced his face lines, his long eyelashes, his cheek lines, and the stubble - like remembering every little detail of him. He was an art, she thought. She traced her fingers along the outline of his lips when she felt her hand stopped suddenly. "Don't!" He spoke against her lips, his voice suddenly husky.
"Why?" His innocent and naive Sanam was back. He needed no more proof now, she was indeed back. He shook his head a little as he held her face closer to him. "Because it makes me want to kiss you!" He said looking deep into her eyes. Passion and love immense. "Then why don't you ki..." Before she could complete her sentence he brought her lips against his and sealed them in a burning kiss. He has waited for this, for so long, to have his Sanam in his arms, and she was here now. They kissed each other with all the love, passion and longing for each other.
The pain and sorrow leaving their bodies, in the warmth and embrace of each other. They lay their beneath the open sky, in each other arms, holding each other like there is no tomorrow. They had nothing to be worried about. They were with each other, and with each other beside them they can overcome against all odds that lie ahead. They cried never wanting to leave each other, as it started to pour again. They have finally found each other, and they were in bliss.
The End!
