Sangeet preparations were in full swing as zoya entered the hall in a light blue kurti and jeans.ayaan and humairah were practicing their duet dance and nikhat nuzhat and nzma were still selecting a song to dance on.zoya smiled as she saw tamatar's worried face and and cute frown.

"tamatar...itni chinta karne se gaana ni milne wala...thande dimaag se search kar."

"haan zoya lekin dekho un dono ko...saari steps learn bhi hogai aur yaha hum abhi tak song hi chose kar rahe he" she pouted to which zoya sighed and shook her head.

"wo dono to wese hi pyaar me he...saath khade hoke small moments bhi karenge to slow dance lagega" zoya said glancing at ayaan who grinned as humairah looked down shyly.

"hmm...slow dance haan?zoya u seem quite experienced!" nikhat teased and nuzhat exclaimed "and there goes the blushing bride"

"stop it guys! Ye blushing bride bohat sad he.apne hi sangeet pe dance ni kar payegi" zoya sighed defeatedly.

All became serious each carrying anger for stella.yes all the members of the family now knew that stella placed that knife...the fake reason told to them was that stella wanted her young daughter to marry asad and that made her try to kill zoya...but only zoya knew the truth that stella doesn't have any daughter.the reason behind that was big and that made her go thru hell. the girls got busy inselecting the song again and she looked thru the hall uninterestingly.eric was standing far taking support of the pillar with lindy.zoya saw eric staring at someone beside her.she turned around to find nzma and nuzzhat.

ye eric bhi na...haldi se dekh rahi hu pta ni kise ashiqo waale look diye jaa raha he'! zoya sighed. Then the idea struck to zoya that maybe eric knows the truth. "eric you and me need to talk" zoya saying that walked into her room.

With the sincerity zoya said made eric gulp hard.he sighed clearing his mind from his new affliction and followed zoya.

"best of luck eric...zoya will make you mast'" nzma said on his way and nuzzhat couldn't help but giggle.eric rolled his eyes "nzma I know now the right meaning of mast"

The girls chuckled at him teasingly and he shook his head before entering zoya's room.

San fransisco city council was like a mission for asad. after poring all his instincts and knowledge into the presentation he was able to attract the minister's interest in his 3 seminars.on his insistence he adjusted such that his seminars were to be over in the morning itself.he wanted to go back asap. But 3 were over and the 4^th one couldn't be adjusted so unfortunately he was scheduled for evening. He was having lunch with other delegates from all over the world when a sudden silence caught his attention.

He heard most of the members wishing good noon to someone.turning around he found a man in his fifties dressed perfectly and immaculately.his features as graceful as a roman king.his lips in a tight smile and there at the junction of his beard and mustache shined a silver pierced ring.

Asad asked an Indian in a low voice "who's he?"

The Indian man looked surprised "don't you know him?he's from ur city.people say he was accused of attempt to rape.he just got out of jail a month back.man...i think I should bow down to that girl who voiced against such a powerful man."

As soon as the Indian man completed a gasp escaped asad's mouth "gary?" he whispered and looked at the powerful celeb again. The reality slowly digested and his hands formed a fist. But somewhere asad too knew that fighting would ruin his reputation he made few hrs back...he remembered zoya's words "ZOAD needs this project"

I have to do this for u zoya...i swear if it wouldn't have for you I would have killed him right here not caring about the bouncers too.' He thought and tried to calm down...he needs to calm down...for his last presentation is still remaining.he resolved that he would not come face to face with this man in the auditorium.once his last seminar is over and he's out of san fransisco...he'll not leave him.

"are you gonna tell me yourself or do I need to ask?" zoya raised an eyebrow and eric looked away.

"what...I don't know what ur talking about"

"eric don't u dare to show pretense in front of me! I know stella doesn't have a daughter...now tell me the truth why she did what she did?" zoya raised her voice to leave some impact on eric. she knew there was something going on between eric,uncle and asad. and she knew too well that eric was keeping quite coz asad instructed him to do so.

"zoya first you please sit...ur shoulder's not well" eric tried to say more but now zoya was beginning to lose her cool

"don't try to change the topic eric...i know ur hiding the truth...just spit it out"

"ok...okay I'll tell u come sit" they sat on the bed and eric started telling her the whole thing his ad revealed the previous day.

Zoya shook her head and covered her face with her hands " I knew it this was coming...i knew after that mall incident he would try...but I didn't knew that he would go such low just to win that project."

Eric hugged her from side "zoya...um...that was just to distract us...and he knew that if u would not be able to go to the meeting he would win...lets look at this that way...he's a coward...he knows u intelligent than him...he's scared...yes he is"

"ur right eric but...he's planning something big...he woud approach me...i need to see lara...will u take me there?"

"sure she's at zoad with dad"

"gimme 5 minutes and we shall leave"

Sitting in rickwood's office...eric and zoya narrated what they knew and rickwood filled the empty points...lara was analyzing the situation once again.

"where are those papers?...they are the lifelines" lara said

"destroyed!" rickwood sighed and zoya looked down regretting for burning those.

"I have an idea...but its way too risky"...lara told them

"anything to end this now...i'm fed up of living with fear. Go on" zoya said

"okay...so as I said its very risky but the only option we have is this...i was thinking of using zoya as a bait..."

"forget it! The lion ahmed khan would never ever agree for this." Eric said resting his head back on the chair.

"no actually this is a great idea...i'm ready" zoya said excited

"u guys have gone crazy!!" eric laughed disbelivingly

"zoya...are you sure u wanna do it"

Zoya thought for a second and sighed determined "yes"

"what about those cameras uncle...did stella took them?"she asked rickwood

"yes...that's how I got her in jail again! Gary was able to get her bailed but now she's inside again...and that chapter is closed don't worry"

"zoya...i was thinking what if gary and asad came face to face?" lara asked

"nope...that's not a problem even if they do gary don't know asad and neither do asad" zoya said and looked at them each one not meeting her eyes.

Lara excused herself at the pretense of a phone call and rickwood had a meeting so he too left. Zoya still sat confused and looked at eric who was playing with paper weight.

Coming out of the office zoya said to eric "eric will you take me to the south beach?"

"what? No ways!...u should be resting now...if ur lion gets to know he'll kill me." Eric said dramatically and zoya chuckled "oh c'mon eric! Please take me.i feel sick sitting at one place...i need some peace"

"ohk lets go then...carefully" eric made zoya sit in passenger sit and then the duo drove away to the beach.the sight of sunset always gave peace to zoya and hope that next day would bring a better future.evenings always allowed her to forget bitter past and get ready for sweet dreams.she sighed sitting on the cool sand as soon as the winds caressed her face.

Asad sighed as he checked out of the hotel.his last presentation was done.and he could see clearly that jury was impressed by him and ZOAD'S hardwork.he was happy for zoya...for he was confident that the project will surely knock on their door.he was content to see sadness and defeat on gary's face. Finally tomorrow morning he would be with zoya and this thought excited him.he didn't even called her today and now he had a flight to catch and before that he have to clear matters with that creep gary.he called his assistant jake and told him to arrange a secret meeting with gary.he gave a fake subject that it was confidential and he needed to see gary asap.one advantage asad had was gary didn't ever saw asad near zoya so he wudn't know that asad was related to zoya.after some time asad recived a confirmation mail that gary was ready to see him at the airport itself in the private jet. Being in same jet with gary alone made asad somewhere scared but he knew that gary was not that much powerful coz last tym he tried attacking zoya in a posh washroom! He was a coward in real and asad resolved to face him and clear that matter now itself.he doesn't care anymore abt himself.he has to do this for zoya as by chance if he would not be alive then also zoya would be free of jerks like gary.he sighed and thought that before leaving he should email zoya.before taking the risk he was going to take he wanted to be sure zoya was ok.he called her but it was switched off.he shook his head and sent an email to his beloved.next he arranged a gun with help of his contacts and headed for airport.

Eric and zoya were still at the beach when the topic of asad and gary came up again!

"I don't like the idea of keeping u as bait zoya!that's too risky don't u think so?what will asad go thru?"eric said to her

"that's wat m thinking eric...maybe we're wrong this tym.its not a wise idea it think...is there any other way outta this?"

"I don't know...why don't u talk to lara once again?"

"yeah...god I curse the day I burnt those papers!"

"oh really do u? was there anything more special that day? U want to curse that too?"

Zoya remembered the close proximity they shared under the snowfall and red enhanced her beauty to which eric laughed

"stop it eric! Don't distract me!!" zoya complained.

"eric what if asad and gary came face to face and I mean ofcourse they don't know each other..."

"yes but the problem is asad knows and..."eric bit his tounge shit what have I revealed!!' he thought worriedly

Zoya looked at him and narrowed her eyes at him "how?? Eric I was sure u all were hiding something frm me nd now m definite u are. What is it?"

"umh...there's nothing zoya...u mistook my words i..meant something else" eric stuttered

Zoya's anger grew and she got hold of eric's collar and said thru gritted teeth "eric don't test my patience! Just spit it out"

"woah I know ur marrying a lion but look at the effect he has on u! ur already behaving as a lioness" eric tried to lighten up her mood but to no avail

"oh really? U think this is a joke eric? Why don't u tell me wat happened when I was hospitalized...coz I know before that everything was serene but now it has become fishy." She took her hands back and sighed.

"now would u say something?" she yelled again

"first u have to elive me I didn't have a choice zoya...oh how to tell u ...m not sure" eric tried but his efforts were in vain

"eric...enough! u tell me or m gonna go confront ur dad and tell him u love an Indian girl who turns out to be my sister I law and u want to marry her.now hows that sounds?" zoya threatened him

"what???how the hell u know? And wait marriage? No m not planning to do that right now rest u can tell dad.thanku for helping zoya"eric played well though he was caught.he did love zoya's sister in law

Zoya sighed as her plan failed "eric pls don't play games putting on a poker face.i've caught u many times dreaming in days staring at my sister in law.just tell me wat do u know?"

Eric sighed and became serious "ohk"

"go ahead" zoya encouraged

"i...I told asad...that u were...u u know raped?" eric finally let it out

"what???" zoya was in utter shock.

"look m sorry I know I shouldn't have..."eric tried defending

"zoya pls relax u will hurt urself" eric tried to calm her down

"eric I wanted to tell my past myself but u worsened the situation...how could u tell him the thing u urself are not knowing? Oh my god eric..." zoya chewed on her lips and patted her forhead as the tears began to flow.she wondered what asad might be thinking.

"zoya wat does I don't know?" eric asked confused as he wiped her tears

"that I wasn't raped..." Zoya sobbed and eric sat agape.

"u weren't? that's good but zoya pls stop crying...u'll ruin ur health.c'mon lets go home"

Zoya was still thinking while eric sat in drivers seat...

"eric asad thinks I was raped and I'm worried abt his state of mind. I know he's feeling suffocated and then gary will be there and wat if he creates a scene thr and the project...oh gosh!" zoya was thinking too much while eric regretted telling asad and was guilty.

"m sorry...u should have been the one to tell asad all thes but honestly I thought asad needed to know that time and I was so scared when u were in hospital that I shared what grief I carried inside" eric confessed as they got home.

Zoya hugged eric and comforted him as she knew how he felt "its ok eric...someday or other he has to know doesn't matter if I tells him or u"

"I feel terrible zoya...m sorry"

"stop it eric...i need some peace of mind.just go home and take care ok?"

"ohkay"he pecked her cheeks and drove away and she sighed.she knew she needed top talk to her phupi.

As she got inside everybody was in hall selecting a dress so as to wat to wear in the function.zoya sat with them for sometime and then excused herself to freshen up.

Dilshaad was on the terrace with her one hand on her chest.zoya came and stood beside her.

"kya hua phupi?" she whispered

Dilshaad sighed and stared at the clouds "I don't know par ek ajeeb si bechaini ho ri he seene me.lag raha he ki kuch galat hone waala he"

Zoya turned dillu towards herself and made her sit on the swing.she sat beside her and said "phupi hume humesha wahi lagta he jo hum sochna chahte he.aap chinta mat kariye mr. khan kal aapke saamne haste haste aa jaayenge"

Dilshaad looked at zoya surprised as how did she knew she was worried for asad.

"ab mai itna to jaanti huna apni phupi ko?"

"haan par afsos me apni bacchi ko theek se jaan hi ni paa rahi hu.zoya tumhari aankhien kyu humesha kuch aur baya karti he...kuch alag jot um hum sabke saamne nahi aane deti?"

Zoya swallowed and said "esa nahi he phupi. Phupi aaj aapse mai yaha kuch share karne aayi hu...vo attack wo intentional tha"

"haan beta I know. Stella aur wo eric ke uncle ne plan kiya tha naa?"

"phupi aap sab kuch jaanti he?" zoya asked surprised and then she thought asad must have told her.she shook her head as here she thought dilshaad also thinks that she was raped.

"tumhaare uncle ne bataya...us aadmi ne kya karne ki koshish ki." Dilshaad was going slow and gauging zoya's reaction.

Zoya was relieved that dilshaad knew the real truth and then god knows wat got into her she lost her poker face finally.dilshaad took her into her arms and zoya cried.no words were exchanged and the two woman let their tears flow.dilshaad rubbed her back and shared a comfort.

"zoya tumne kabhi bhi mujhe ye bataane layak ni samjha?"

"phupi m sorry...mai idiot thi sochti thi ki mai akeli hu aur is duniya se ladne ke liye kaafi hu"

"zoya ye sach he ki humme duniya se ladne ki takat honi chaiye par kabhi kabar its ok to cry...its ok to let it go and share .tumne kese soch liya kit um akeli ho haan? Aainda esa kabhi bhi mat sochna ok?"

Zoya nodded and winced as she felt pain in her shoulder.dilshaad pushed zoya's hairs back " kya haalat bana rakhi he apni .chalo niche I'll help u with the dressing" saying so she pecked her forehead and zoya smiled as she finally shared wat she carried in her heart all of those years.she no more felt suffocated and her light heart was young again.the only thing she cared was asad now...his thoughts mattered a lot to her.she needed to speak to him but she knew he must be tired so dropped the idea.a new hope revolved and while closing the terrace gate she glanced at the time.the digital monkey clock spoke 8:43 pm.

"haw!!" she exclaimed "phupi do u realize we sat there for almost one and a half hr?"

Dilshaad lughed as she wiped her own tears "can't blame anyone...we're woman!"

Zoya chuckled and they descended down the stairs.
